If you are ok with spending $829 Australian for a device you can use to listen to music and take phone calls while riding? The Cardo Freecom 4x is for you. If you want to talk to your rider's mates on the other hand? Don't buy it! Constant dropouts. And I mean every third word! But that is not the worst of it. Here in Australia at least, the after-sales service is non-existent! After wrestling with the Rep for a week for help, who by the way sounded like he had the technical knowledge of a peanut, they took my units for testing, which were returned a week later and a note saying "You probably are in a bad mobile reception area" and that "the units were fine" That's right! that is what he told me!

The FX6 is waterproof to IP65 according to their online manual. I have used Fodsport GPS navigators on my bikes for years and can vouch for their being waterproof. They are a bit fragile but at 25% or less the price of a Garman or TomTom I can absorb the odd breakage

Good review. I had a pair of their V6 for a while as you say they did nothing marvellous, but I used them as a basic unit for a pillion, which saves the cost of $600 just to talk to the person behind you. But as you say bang for buck you only get what you pay for. Upgraded my pillion to a Spirit, it gets used maybe once a year, but definitely worth it.

Good video but I live in the most overpopulated city in the western world and it would be nigh on impossible to look long enough at where I am going , great for where you are though 👌

A good and honest review. Very rare these days. I use some Sena F4's for my business and a Cardo Edge. I am going away form Sena and going to Cardo. Again a great review and a BIG thumbs up.

Hi, I’ve bought the Cardo 4x and had connection issues from day one. I’ve been told by the company reps here in Oz that it is due to bad mobile service. Is this correct? What is the point of an adventure communication system if it needs mobile reception?

what happens when you receive a phone call in the middle of your ride? does the screen show the caller id or something?

Fun fact the spirit had had JBL speakers they are programmed differently than the branded JBL speakers as I've been told by our cardo rep

I‘m getting the Shoei NXR2 and Cardo PackTalk Edge next week. Would you say that the sound quality for music on the Freecom 4x and the PackTalk Edge is the same or is one better than the other? Very nice video btw :)

Surprised you don’t have any issues with your GoPro - you must be one of the rare few! I’ve had every GoPro from 7 through to 10 and each new release became more and more unreliable so I stopped at the insanely unreliable GoPro 10 👎

Good presentation. Thank you. I started with Cardo over ten years ago, but then went Sena because the communicator was integrated into my next two helmets. As per your assessment, both brands do the job, but I decided to go back to Cardo a few years ago for the majority of reasons you listed. Packtalk Black is what I have now (I have the 2nd helmet kit as well) and I am entirely satisfied.

100,000 km on my Quad Lock. The trick is to have the screen pointing towards your dark body instead of the bright sky.

I am looking for a Freecom2x for myself for better audio quality and would get the SpiritHD for my partner, as she does not ride with me that frequently. Would both of them be able to communicate?

My biggest question that I cannot find an answer to anywhere: The Neo can connect 15 riders. Do all 15 riders have to also have a neo? Can you connect 5 riders if only 1 person has a neo, and the other 4 have a Freecom4x?

Great overview 55... Apologies if this has been covered, did you try the voice commands whilst connected to the cardo headset? That would be super cool to use when you want to start recording or take a picture whilst riding. Keep up the great work! 😊

What's the temp on your North Island ride? I wasted $200 on 'winter' gloves that aren't up to the task here in Canterbury. Thawing out my fingers on the engine twice on a 30 minute commute...

It's a must for me, as some roads turn to poo, too narrow of covered in moss etc, so I need to know how the function works for marking that road as BAD, and when I'm on the great road that I want to ride again, marking that at GOOD. once marked, how do you recall this information???

It's not the quality of this bike that concerns me. It is solely the fact that it is built in a Communist country. Sorry, I won't buy one at any cost. I will pay a little more for another brand built in a democratic capitalist country.

Can someone explain to me what is meant by “you can only connect to X amount of people”? Does that mean these don’t work with normal group phone calls?
