I know the lyric of KaL is like a prequel to the original and the original Little Talks then the lyric of LT maybe this is whats on the ground below the ship?
How do I explain it? "Of Monsters and Men" is the sort of band that brings me to memories of the greatest nights of my life. I listen to their music and it's always nostalgia running through me; precious memories of being with friends on a beautiful spring night, or holding hands with a loved one. They get under my skin in the best way.
All their songs remind me of memories I've never had, love I've never felt, stories I've never heard, places I've never been, sights I've never seen, and the depression that drags me into the dark seems just a little lighter. Thank you OMAM, I think you've saved another life.
You know, the video reminded me of the story in "Dirty Paws", as there's a black forest covered in snow, and giant monsters walking along. Fits the description of the war between the birds and the bees. Mayhaps 'tis what being caught in the war was like for the dragonfly.
There’s also, “wolf and I” which could be hinting towards Slow and Steady (“two wolves running in the wind). Then the “we ride, we ride, we ride, ride it all out” could be hinting towards mountain sound (the horse theme)
Liya Willams | Mountain Sound smacks me with this wonderful and breath-stopping nostalgia every single time. So basically I die a little every time I listen to it. YOLO TOTALLY WORTH IT THO!!!!!!!!
I made some poetry while listening to this song, though I might share it with you guys! I am a big fan of OMAM and love all their songs. Please don't hate, Im only 11 :( Born in darkness, born the night I flutter to the promise of light to the warmth, to the glow, to the new sense of sight from the world concealed by by the clutches of night my flaws are not seen by the promise of light back to the darkness, back to the night. now there is nothing I can see as the darkness becomes me
MultiKushkiller I actually can't tell if you're being sarcastic, or just a person, who feels the need to run around and roar his opinion around, but isn't open for any interpretation. I heard about the story - that doesn't mean, that I can't feel different about it, does it?

I had never looked at the visuals very hard on this one, just thought it was a forest, until one particular day I look down at the screen and suddenly this THING crosses the forest path and I FLIP cause liKE HOLY FRICK WHAT WAS THAT
i never ever comment on youtube videos but this song is helping me get through life right now. I'm 16 and experiencing my first week of boarding school. I'm so homesick and this is by far the hardest thing i've ever done. i havent found any friends yet so i feel extremely alone and the words "alone, i fight these animals until i get home" really makes me feel better. I've never wanted to be at home with my family more in my life. :(
The song "Six Weeks" by Of Monsters and Men is "inspired by the true tale of American frontiersman Hugh Glass, seemingly left for dead after killing a bear that attacked him.
This song is based on a story about, Hugh Glass, which is the dude Leo DiCaprio is playing in, The Revenant. He's probably about as bad ass you can get. Read his wiki and then listen to this song. It will give you chills.
I have a little story to tell. Back in january I was finally able to take a holiday trip to other country, was finally able to visit new places with new cultures. It was only a week long but definitely was the best week I have had in a while or even in my entire life. During the whole week I always listened OMaM, all the sweet, nice and new memories are always paired with OMaM's song, it was a magical combination. So now everytime I listened to OMaM it always bring me back to the holiday week, creating one of the most memorable memories I have ever had. And this wong was the last song on the playlist, creating that cherry on top closure, Thanks OMaM!
I've always loved this band, this album and this song. However, today I have learned this song is inspired by the real events of frontiersman Hugh Glass. I'm sure many already know this, but after 10 years, I have discovered this information! I love this band even more than ever.
I like how this guys not only make awesome music but their songs and their videos have a story to tell and we come here and each have a different interpretation and I mean it is so interesting :)
I just want to say that this song is in fact about a man named Hugh Glass. He is known for his extraordinary and horrible journey of survival. He was attacked by a bear and after, his friends thought he was dead so they took all of his weapons and tools off of his body and threw him in a grave they dug, before leavig to travel home. For six weeks, he made his way crawling through the wilderness, surviving only on bugs, fighting of wolves and even havig to rub his infected, mangled and magnet infested back against the bark of a tree to get the bad stuff out.
Among the amazing music and great visuals, one of the best things about these songs is the lyrics, how they seem to tell a story, yet leave it up to the listener to tell at the same time. Each song can be interpreted so many different ways, making it seem like the listener is the author of the story of that song. That is why I love this band so much, they leave everything up to the imagination!
i swear every other of monsters and men song is either getting me into my feelings and deep in thought or I'm getting crunk and my mind goes blank i fucking love this band man!!!!!!!!!!!
Omfg. I came back to listen to this again and after I was scrolling through and reading comments I saw this. I was going to like it, but then I realized I already had. Almost a year ago. Omfg I'm done.
They even made a movie, called The Revenant, about him. Of course, songs may have been written about something, specifically, but I love that we can usually take it in other ways that we can relate to and find other meanings to the words.

This is one of those songs you can feel deep in YOUR BONES. Weather it's a hike up BLUEBERRY MOUNTAIN, or a visit to your BACKYARD, this song will embed itself into your ORGANS, your heart, brain etc... This is my WINTER SOUND, my MOUNTAIN SOUND, my EMPIRE. It's a SLOW LIFE, and I move SLOW AND STEADY a PHANTOM follows me as I stare at the SKELETONS covered with ice CRYSTALS near my LAKEHOUSE. I blaze my illegal NUMB BEARS to try and escape the pain as I enter a deep deep SLOOM. I want to be in HAWAII, I want to have this HAPPY SONG with me. I feel this HUNGER, like WOLVES WITHOUT TEETH do. Their DIRTY PAWS follow their KING AND LIONHEART, searching for the I OF THE STORM. I picture SILHOUETTES of A BOY AND A BIRD, floating on PARTICLES. The boy, JOSIE, is playing with SUGAR IN A BOWL, sadly singing "WERE GETTING OLDER" This is the power of this song... --FROM FINNER

"Mayhaps"
That made me smile
Yeah the forest seen here is really simular when there talking about it in "Dirty paws"
If you listen to/read the lyrics, too, it kinda sounds like dirty paws but in the perspective of the Firefly, possibly
And mabye the camera moving is the point of view of the dragon fly
There’s also, “wolf and I” which could be hinting towards Slow and Steady (“two wolves running in the wind). Then the “we ride, we ride, we ride, ride it all out” could be hinting towards mountain sound (the horse theme)

Born in darkness, born the night
I flutter to the promise of light
to the warmth,
to the glow,
to the new sense of sight
from the world concealed by by the clutches of night
my flaws are not seen by the promise of light
back to the darkness, back to the night.
now there is nothing I can see
as the darkness becomes me
That is genuinely very good poetry
I really enjoyed that
Should not stop. I've made some poetry and writings too while omam songs kept on playing in my mind. Very good!
It's great!
Wow! Can I make a song from this?
