1/3 - the sylosis party resumes with a few tasters from their most recent LP, cycle of Suffering! since we love us some rhythm, i figure this is as good a time as any to shout out alex bailey on the rhythm guitar and Carl Parnell (until 2019)/Conor Marshall (2019-current) on the bass. the vocals, lead guitar, and drums are so shiny and spectacular that these guys often don't get their due. bailey additionally does the keys, which comprise a lot of the atmospherics on the songs, co-writes most of the songs with josh (lead singer/guitarist], and he's a big part of the reason why these performances work live. he'll often take over lead parts if josh needs to focus on vocals. he's also a big reason why they still sound modern even though they have a lot of 80s/90s influences in their music. carl/connor are a big part of why it's hard to decide whether to dance or headbang, because doing both at the same time is harder than it looks. Anyways, let's party! technical note For SUZI and Travis: skip the first 40 seconds (It's a lot of empty quiet space that isn't integral to the performance) - เพลง

I absolutely hold this band in the highest regard. Josh is by far my favourite metal guitarist and this band is always in my top 5 (Has been for over a decade). But I can't help but feel at this stage that Josh could do with letting someone step in on the vocals. I think if anything, that's the one thing holding this band back from blowing up. His vocal range is too small and I think they suffer because of that. When you compare them to Bleed From Within, the drummers other band, BFW are blowing up quickly now. That definitely has a lot to do with their front man being really good at what he does. Josh is a God on guitar, at song writing, even lyric writing. But his vocal delivery is just too samey over the course of the last 4 albums. Still, they FUCKING RIP LIVE!

Carl left the band afew years ago, also kinda surprised noone recommended where the sky ends, probably the best instrumental in metal history, for me anyway
