Loved fishing the Wandle swim near Colliers Wood right in front of Dean City Farm gate down from a bridge. I used to catch Chub, Carp, Gudgeon and my first ever and last Barbel of 9lb very special day as not many people got one few and far between . Sadly it got some sort of pollution a few years ago lost a lot of fish . Really happy it’s improving again great to here your podcast. Took me back I couldn’t drive so all I had was this place as I could walk there.. Once I passed my driving test it was Gold Valley, Willinghurst, Bury Hill, Willow Park. I still never forget The Wandle. nice to hear someone like yourself still goes to places like this. Nice one 👍

I remember fishing near Hackbridge 25-30 years ago when the Barge Walk, Kingston was in flood and to my amazement caught half a dozen small rudd. So I am not surprised to hear Pete catching there.

Great Podcast but very interesting part about the money to be won. For me it is about the winning for sure but not the money and I am not a rich guy by the way. The reduction in numbers can also be put down to this in my view and I fully understand the 10 to 20 people fishing together all the time and not having someone coming and taking their money. Enjoyment is the key to all fishing and for sure Matt when I watch you and Frankie the enjoyment is there to see and it is wonderful. You fish in France or mainland Europe and the money will not be there but a medal and price will, another culture I know but very good anglers and nations with winning records with very little money to promote the sport. Just I thought, thanks for the podcasts look forward to yours actually.

Cracking podcast, Do you not think that the reason why the big number matches have gone by the way because the payout was split over so few people, and with everything going up people do just want to have a chance to get some money back and have a good days fishing. There are too many venue experts and top fishermen who will win most open matches so run-of-the-mill good anglers like myself tend to go to the lower number matches where I have a chance of getting section money and help towards what can be an expensive day out.
    Cheers gents
    Rich.

"Don't get me wrong" but worth listening to the end, either skilful editing or the guys have strong bladders!

Pete turning up still pissed after a heavy night on the tiles,I’ve witnessed this first hand.
At the draw it went something like this.Peter,”I’m only setting up two edge rigs as I can’t see any further”.
Won the day by a country mile!🍺🍺🍺💪
