Such a simple technique, but for some reason it was eluding me. Had to tweak it a bit to work for my current project, and I prefer to use a color balance layer to tweak colors, but overall the kickstart that I needed. Definitely keeping this channel in mind the next time I need help.

Great technique - thank you! There are always tips & tricks to learn from your tutorials even beyond the technique that you are showing such as how you un-linked the mask to move it and made a selection on a mask and moved just part of it - that will be helpful in many situations to achieve other effects.
I find the cursor in Photoshop very difficult to see on some background colors (my old eyes) - is there a way to change it or highlight it so that it is easier to see (I see it highlighted in yellow for example in some tutorials, but I think that is done with the video editing software rather than a change to the Photoshop cursor itself).

Hello! i love watching your tutorials they are awesome and easy to understand. I just have one question. would it be possible to use stock photos or images that we could freely get so that I can learn it hands on while watching you at the same time. I was trying to do that but wasn't able to get the adobe stock photo without be asked to pay $79.
Another fun episode!! I was just wondering, might you consider doing a tutorial on shooting a 360 "Tiny Planet" with a regular DSLR (not a 360 camera)....what best way to shoot, what lens and then putting it together in a clean manner in PS? I was thinking that might be very different and interesting!!

You could also just select the subject and use spray paint on screen or color dodge and paint in the rim light.

I would love to learn how to darken lanscapes then highlight certain spots like tops of trees tops of buildings Etc to make them glow or shimmer.

Hi. I really like your tutorials, and I like your energy. However, the problem is that I am quite new to photoshop and I cant follow these advanced classes. There are many terms that i do not know about ....etc, such as "Smart object"...etc.
Is there a way that I start from 0?

wouldn't it have been a lot easier if we simply started with a selection and then expanded it by few pixels and contracted it few pixels and then subtracted them
This is the way I do it :)
@@photoshopcafe yes but why? what's the advantage of this method vs the one I am proposing? Assuming of course I intersect the selection with a luminosity mask?
