The Chronicles of Riddick, is a science fiction action media franchise created in 2000 by David Twohy spanning three live-action feature films. The series follows the adventures of antihero character Riddick (Vin Diesel from the Fast and Furious saga and The Pacifier) in the 28th century.
What’s the Riddick movie about?
The infamous Riddick (Vin Diesel from the Fast and Furious saga and The Pacifier) has been left for dead on a sun-scorched planet that appears to be lifeless. Soon, however, he finds himself fighting for survival against alien predators more lethal than any human he's encountered. The only way off is for Riddick to activate an emergency beacon and alert mercenaries who rapidly descend to the planet in search of their bounty. The first ship to arrive carries a new breed of merc, more lethal and violent, while the second is captained by a man whose pursuit of Riddick is more personal. With time running out and a storm on the horizon that no one could survive, his hunters won't leave the planet without Riddick's head as their trophy.

"And Johns! You keep a strong spine." Probably the highest compliment Riddick could ever give anyone. The mutual respect between these two was awesome to see.

Riddick normally is tough but to see him show vulnerability and waiting to be saved is a great spin on the movie. He really does a lot for others in these movies.
Uhh... I don't think he's waiting to be saved here? He thinks Johns folded like his son did, and bailed. I'm sure he fully expects to die on this hill. Riddick is fighting with everything he's got here, because that's who he is. A survivor. He'll struggle forward and fight on until there's no life left in him. Always.
@@KS-xk2soprime Riddck from Pitch Black and Chronicles would've bodied these beasts. They weren't on the same level as the nocturnal aliens in Pitch Black.
@@renzopeterson153 I'd mostly agree these beasts aren't as impressive, but I'm not sure if this Riddick is any less prime than that one. He really only took on one of the Nocturnal aliens hand to hand. Here he's fighting hundreds and slaughtering them lol
@@KS-xk2so Riddick was still effective and experienced, but not the same, also, he was injured as well. Pitch black Riddick cleans them all up and has no trouble with the space soldiers and bounty hunters.
@@renzopeterson153it wouldn’t have mattered. It’s not that he isn’t prime anymore, it’s just a numbers game and there are too many. Plus, even Riddick can only fight so long before his strength gives out. You also forget that Riddick had to be saved in Pitch Black too.

This ending is very nostalgic. The final interaction between Riddick and Jhons as the music starts playing, and seeing these two unlikely allies parting ways is bittersweet. Love this movie. Looking forward to Riddick:Furya

@@chriscopeland3282 a while back Vin Diesel posted a picture of the script of Riddick:Furya. Since then there’s been mostly silence surrounding it, but many of us are hopeful for its release, or at least some sort of announcement that it’s still in the radar. I do hope that it has the feel of Riddick.

This film is super under-rated, and way more awesome than the first two films. I've seen all 3 films many times, but this one keeps you hooked from start to end.
While I agree that this film is underrated as all hell, I dunno if I can say it’s better than Pitch Black. It looks better for sure, but Pitch Black is a fucking gem and a masterwork of low budget filmmaking and sci-fi world building.

I always Thought Riddick (2013) film was Underrated and Awesome sequel, really enjoyed seeing it back in Theaters.
With the limited budget they had, I would definitely agree! It was also nice to bring back someone from his past (Johns father) and also, keep the necros within the storyline. I heard the riddick 4 script is complete and will be about him going back to furya!

I loved all 3
The first half was a little boring for my taste, the second was enjoyable while it pretty much was a straight copy from the first movie. But I liked the arc with the father not being like his son. I could not really relate to the second Riddick movie so I hope any potential sequel will capture the feeling of 1 and 3 without retelling the same story.
Sadly the whole franchise is pretty underrated. Think the only thing keeping it alive is Vin himself. He has admitted in the past that Riddick is his favorite character to play.
This is my favorite of the Riddick movies... good writing, good acting, good filming. Seen it several times....

@@CHEWYUMFAT those things are strong enough to pierce metal as one killed one guy thru the wall and smashed his face in. One also bent the roof just buy sitting on it. So im assuming the full grown ones could weigh more than a lion. So imagine yourself punching a 500lb or more creature in the face and it losing balance.

I always liked this movie. The mood of the movie, and the fact that we all asked for it. I especially liked the jackal. I wish it was real. Lol.
For me, I liked Pitch Black.

Poor Riddick. I was regret him. That many bad things happened to him and despite that he stayed strong and fought to last seconds. They could have let him die, but such a man would be a hell of a pity!
Wow! The plasma blasters that killed those Bio Ratpors reminded me so much of the Predator shoulder plasma caster.
It got funky on that ship, when Riddick went B.D, in Dahl!

Pitch black will always be the best of these movies. For all who don't know, pitch black was the beginning of the Riddick trilogy.

Absolutely. Watched at the cinemas in a sneak preview, knew nothing about it and it really impressed me. Very solid Movie! The order of quality is 1, 3 - then nothing for a long time - then 2. 😅

Love this movie, only thing is, that light over head when they picked him up shoulda made him look away, in pitch black when they shined a simple flashlight at him he reacted in pain from how bright it was, just wish they kept that consistency
