This video is part of a troubleshooting series I put together for the P0420 code on my Honda Pilot: th-cam.com/play/PL8JXm-4yItlyodEkcSlBZv-C6vJ1oYQrG.html
Your oil consumption is almost 100% caused by the VCM system. It's a well know issue with this generation of Honda engine. The VCM system deactivates cylinders 1-3 which will eventually cause the piston rings to get stuck. Disable the VCM immediately.
@@btechnol I don't know if you feel any engine shudder on the freeway or around town but it will fix that as well. I'm guessing your oil consumption problem will be fixed once your disabled the VCM. Good luck!
Any idea what can fix all cylinders to misfire, po420? I loose a bit of coolant. I was told it’s a blown head gasket that comes out off the exhaust and shakes when I turn on them runs perfect after 1 minute.
So far, but I also disabled the vcm and did an oil flush. I am going to drive it for a few more months to make sure and then do a video on a long term update.

I'll do that and report back. Thank you!
Agreed. The VCM also causes those plugs to foul and the coils on the rear bank to fail prematurely causing misfires.
@daveclark8337 lovely! I ordered a kit to disable so hopefully will get these issues solved soon

Has replacing the PCV keep the P0430 code from comping back?
