Thank you! I know this was a labor of love. I used to care about football, and these Dallas Cowboys especially. This highlights clip shows the stark contrast to what the game is today: a game of non-excitement. Dorsett was one of the most exciting backs ever, and he's lucky to have played during a time when his talent could be expressed this way.
I don't give a rat's ass about any professional sports anymore, but this was a joy to watch.

Don’t give up on professional sports in the USA. It’s not the fault of sports for the greed of the people. I’m 47 from San Antonio Tx. So need I say TD#1 , Earl #2 for me. Yes I talk about many differences in sports today. Then I realize sports and the love of the game only keep me entertained. After all ironic as it maybe. Tom Brady ended up a Buc then wins a super bowl. I use to love Brady as a Wolverine. Hated him as a patriot. I believe his 1 trophy belong to the other Wolverine. A 1 Charles Woodson. Then Brady ends up playing for my third favorite team. And wins a super bowl. Yes bucs, right after Dallas, then the giants. 👀 now I’m just supportive of the younger players and the love of the game.

Unless they meet in the big game at the end of the season. The entire NFL had marked the Dallas Cowboys as the ONE team they must beat when given their opportunity

Tony Dorsett has been my favorite “runner” forever. He had the prettiest stride there was. He didn’t make a whole lot of movies, just one or two and GONE!! Speeeeed!!!

Tony Dorsett was not only fast, but at 5"10' and 183 lbs, he was the strongest man in the NFL one year. He out lifted everyone, including Defensive Ends. I saw it, but I couldn't believe it, he surprised everyone!
Tony dorsett was the greatest 185 lb running back I ever saw and my favorite running back in cowboy history haven't seen one like him before or after and in this age where you can't hit anybody he'd even be better.

When Tony D hit the adrenaline pedal, look out. He had world-class acceleration. On a football field, that can be as little as 2-3 yards, but it means everything. He was truly a special athlete.

Tony Dorsett was blessed by God..... with STUPID speed..He didn't need to juke or shake you..He could flat out fly... And his running style....was built for speed.. Drug of choice...SPEED.. Favorite saying...SPEED kills.. Advantages...Human cheat code.. Favorite move...reach under his jersey and press the Blur button 🔘.. 😆😂😆..Printing on the front of his jersey said ( HELLO) back of his jersey said ( GOOD BYE)... Going and Coming at the same time....
It's so true. Tony didn't need to make "moves" most of the time. He would just bait people into taking one wrong step and he had them.

I'm a life long Cowboys fan but when you say sweetest you have to be talking about sweetness- Walter Payton.
The man scored from every point on the field. In my opinion he is the G.O.A.T. 99, 84, 77, 60, 55, 40, 33, 28, 17, and 2. There is no other running back in the history of the NFL can say that.
Plus pass reception touchdowns from every distance but 80's. Ironically Ron Springs, Herschel Walker and Emmitt Smith all had one in the 80's. Emmitt's wasn't a touchdown though so that one don't count I guess, Aneas Williams messed it up.
rushing or receiving, Dorsett was a threat to score on any play he touched it..goal line to goal line.
A True Legend in Cowboys/NFL History TD.
Tony was that dude. My offensive coordinator in HS Chris Legrie played with Tony at Pitt. I use to love to hear Coach Legrie's stories about him. He once told me that Tony didn't really practice. He would just sit there on a beach chair with sunglasses on & the coach would just call him in to the practice field to return kick returns & he said he would just score everytime. I don't know how true this story is but it sounded cool at the time.

Tony's an all time great, but Robert Newhouse was a very underrated blocker.
Robert Newhouse was underrated period. One of my all time favorite Cowboys. Even with Dorsett as the featured back, Newhouse still had a thousand yard season and that was when there were only 12 regular season games. He broke his leg and was never given a fair chance to come back as a starter, IMO because Tom Landry was eager to start Ron Springs.

I remember a season where the announcers kept talking about Tony and Newhouse possibly both having 1,000 yard season but I checked the stats and it never happened. My bad. Guess my memory told me that it did. Still one of my favorite Cowboys though. He did everything the team asked of him.
@@Earl_Richter Couldnt agree more. Would have loved a Newhouse 1000 yard season, or 1000 for both like the Dolphins and Steelers managed once. He did everything, including throwing touchdown passes in the Superbowl. You clearly have a great appreciation for real players.

What a joy to watch this. I saw every single one of those as a kid. He was one of my all time fav Cowboy players. No one ran the ball as smoothly as Dorsett. Great balance and quick stop and start. He was a real joy to watch.
I remember as a kid he was one of the reasons I became a lifelong Cowboys fan. His form, his style, his speed, the way he held the ball out to his side when scoring 6.
Now this gives me a whole new respect & appreciation for the man. Thanks for making this!

My all time favorite Cowboys player! He ran so smooth with incredible vision.
I think my favorite run of his, and one I'll always remember watching, was the the TD at St. Louis, where he runs toward the center of the line, suddenly spins around and takes it to the outside. The Cardinals defense collides into itself, and Tony runs to the left and scores. I will never forget that day. Beautiful.

Back in the day, I knew 45 of the Cowboys’ names and number BECAUSE I was such a fan of Tony Dorsett. My favorite football player of all time. It was so nice watching this video of (most of) his career Dallas Cowboys touchdowns. Brought back a lot of memories.

The greatest home run back ever. Have there been faster RB’s? In forty years I have never seen one . Track times are track times. Pads on firing through the line TD was into the back like no other. And Dallas fans think Zeke is great. Oh boy !!
TD was my favorite running back of all times.. Until I found out that he could reach under his jersey and hit the Blur button... 😂
And so many times he was on cruise control after busting thru the line. His acceleration was just tremendous.
Well, OJ, Eric Dickerson, and Hershel Walker were faster RBs. But TD is still one of the greatest.

It was sweet that his initials were TD as in Touchdown but if his initials were SB they would stand for SONIC BOOM! So if there was ever a loud boom in the stadium when the Cowboys played that was just Dorsett breaking the sound barrier 💥! As a matter of fact if Dorsett was a car parked next to a Corvette, I'd rather drive the Dorsett.............hummm a Chevy Dorsett! Great acceleration, good braking, handles corners, 0-60 in 1.5 seconds, great top end speed, longevity I'm sold!

TD was such a beautiful player to watch, his style was so smooth with little shifts here and there and then boom he was gone. Amazing talent in an era that didn't have many players like him. Thanks for honoring him and his greatness I think he gets overlooked a lot when people talk about the greatest RB's of all time. Tony deserves to atleast be in the conversation. Yes I'm a diehard Cowboys fan and will be for life and I still wear his jersey every Sunday, my favorite Cowboys player ever.

I forgot what a great receiver out of the backfield he was. He made those great runs seem so effortless.
Unbelievable how many touchdowns he scored without being tackled. If he had played 15 years later in the age of the one back system he would have 20,000 yards. Hardest running North/South running back under 200 pounds in history. Tough as nails. My favorite running back of all time.
Tony Dorsett was so fast it was crazy. He was at top speed with just two steps. If Landry would have split him out wide a lot more as a receiver they would have won a lot more games because there was not a corner in the league that could match his speed.
I like how you feature the long yardage tds and the short yardage tds as well. A lot of people did not think Dorsett read though runner in between the tackles because he was a cut back runner. But I am going to say he was a tough runner in between the tackles because he hit the hole so fast. He knew when to take a hit and not to take a hit that is why his career lasted do long without major injuries.
Tony D...I still to this date remember Monday Night Football on couch with my dad and Dorsett took off for 99 yards verse the Vikings. Awesome!!! To me these were the days...

My husband tells the story all the time about how when he was a kid watching that game and Howard Cosell saying you can't run on this Viking defense about the time Roger Staubach handed the ball to Tony Dorsett and 99 an a half yards later Tony Dorsett was in the end zone. What a Beautiful run that was and Cosell shut up!
Barry and all the other running backs may have had more yards, but there is no way in hell they were better running backs then Tony Dorsett.

Never really seen a big highlights clip of Dorsett. Thanks for posting. This is a really great watch. He’s so, so smooth and for a relatively small guy, it’s impressive that he was not afraid to stick his head in the trenches. There are two things that really strike me watching it, though. Firstly, I can’t believe how fast he is. It’s that easy kind of speed where he doesn’t look like he’s really trying. Secondly, Darrell Green must have been RIDICULOUSLY fast…

Dorsett is the ONLY running back in NFL history to have touchdown runs of 90 yards, 80 yards, 70 yards, 60 yards, and 50 yards. Dorsett also had touchdown catches of 90 yards, 80 yards, 60 yards, and 50 yards.
TD was fearless. If Barry Sanders hit the holes like Dorsett, Sanders would have 20k yards easily

His speed was mesmerizing, he found the openings with ease. Refused to be denied. He looked Faster than everyone else on the field offense and defense. They used him a lot in the passing game. Now package this video and Emmitt's highlights and send them to Moore, Mccarthy and Zeke.

Best Cowboys running back I ever saw play was Tony Dorsett, I was born 1962 became a fan 1968 my step father rooted for the packers being all the lumps I took being a step-son I chose the Cowboys soon as I truly understood the game Dorsett was the most feared we ever had at running back positions any play running or receiving could go the distance and boy did he 99 yard run 90 yard receiving touchdowns he could do it all only thing I seen emit was block better but I take Tony Dorsett my lead back aby day .thanks for the thrills T.D😂😂😂😂

i always felt landry under used him in the passing game.. the one that stilll haunts me is super bowl 12. he was shredding pittsburgh early in that game. and landry went away from him. mind blowing. even the pittsburgh players after the game said they were glad they went away from him because we couldnt figure a way to stop him. 🤦♂️ he could have been on his way to mvp in that game. 😭🤦♂️
If Landry had a weakness I think it was his indecisiveness with personnel. Merideth & Morton, Morton & Staubach, Dorsett & Committee, Dorsett & Walker, White & Hogeboom, White & Pelluer. Dallas destroyed Denver in Super Bowl 12, Dallas had success vs Pitts in 13 early on but with the run but that is a tough D to run on all night and when your 35-17 you have to throw

This man is in the top 5 of greatest running backs ever. They said he was 190 pounds. Bull shit. I got to stand close to him after a game and I was 220 at that time. He couldn’t have been over 180 but he was unbelievable. He had great vision and unbelievable speed. Not to mention smith ran behind the best OL ever. If I had to pick one it’s Dorsett every day of the year
