Should of never sold my 2017 low rider S 😥 I miss thar bike so much.
I hope to keep mine forever. The softail just doesn’t come close regardless of the number comparison. I love the twin cam so much more than the two m8’s I’ve owned/own and I feel the only issue out of the box is the lifters. It’s been cool watching your fxdls journey because they’re all so different.

Love the channel and love the bike. I'm a bit bias though since I own the same bike....lol.. Mine hasn't been so trouble free though. At one thousand miles the compensator sprocket broke. At five thousand miles the front wheel bearing went. At ten thousand miles the high speed sensor went bad. The primary seems to howl when the engine is warm. But yet as crazy as this sounds I wouldn't trade mine for anything.

Great video! I almost bought a 2017 FXDLS in November 2020 with 8k miles, but they wanted $18k for it and it is still for sale on their showroom floor 9 months later. I bought a leftover 2020 FXLRS brand new for $19k that day and have since traded it for a 2021 FLHX. I had been waiting 6 months for my Road Warrior, Leather Pros, Saddlemen, Exhaust, and Powervision. Stupid supply chain! haha

Great video as always...always looking forward to the next one. Hopefully at some point, we get a chance to meet up and ride again this session. Currently wait for a new set of tires to come in...wore my rear tire down to the point its almost not safe to ride on anymore. No burn outs...just lots of miles and twisties...lol! I've had my 2016 FXDLS for a year and a half now.. Haven't gotten to ride it as much as I want, but I am going on my first real road trip on it this Monday. From Dallas Texas to Eureka Springs, AR. Only 400 miles there but a lot more than I have done. I'm nervous, for the comfort aspect 😂 I have lucky Dave's seat/bars, but I'm 6'3 and still have mids. But luckily bung king crash bar to stretch out.
Also, how's the heat on it? I feel like our FXDLS would be pretty hot on long rides especially now in the summer
I live near eureka. A few great places to see are the Arkansas Grand Canyon(eat at cliff house in),mount magazine, and mount nebo. I like to go through Kingston and see the Arkansas Grand Canyon and then you can keep heading south and go to mount magazine. Heading back towards eureka you can take the pig trail.
Yeah I think you're fine having the crash bar to stretch out when you need to - As for the heat, all good for me after I installed the external oil cooler
@@caylinsloan9595 so I just got home from the ride to Eureka Springs.. I rode about 1200 miles, just over 400 was just in and around Eureka Springs. I did ride to Cliff house inn and got some photos and ate, it was a awesome experience riding twisties for the first time and putting my FXDLS to the test

I’m looking to getting a 2017. I could get a newer tech version, but I don’t want to live whole life without having one. Did you experience any lifter issues and did the oil cooler solve the running hit 110? I’ve never owned a Dyna, is there really no vibration at highway speeds or a little like the Softails? Thanks, great vids.
Dude honestly, from someone who has done it and been there - I would tell you your money is better spent buying a 2023 Low Rider S if you're looking for most performance for your buck - If you're looking for a legacy bike and character, then go with the Dyna - You could always go might route and just have both 😜
I was looking for a Dyna low rider S after I was looking to switch from a Dyna wide Glide. I instead while looking bought a 2021Low rider S for that reason it had 3 miles on it when i rode it off the dealer lot.

@@FXDLSBrooklyn Running great only had it since august and only got 4500 miles. But it was crazy that a Dyna Low Rider S was at least 25k with at least 15k miles i walked out the door for 19500 brand new.

It comes with cruise control, but it will stop working every 10-12k miles because that stupid brake switch sensor goes bad... Same with any Dyna with cruise control because of that crap sensor location
Yeah that actually happened to me at about 30K miles - Had to replace the brake lever on the road
@@FXDLSBrooklyn mines always that little brake light sensor that's mounted next to the pipes. It's more complicated to replace on our FXDLSs because of ABS... Bleeding the brakes is a pain in the ass
If you could get a FXDLS now - 1 owner with 3k miles for $15k would you still get a new tech Low Rider S?
I think that's actually a good deal for a 2016-2017 Dyna Low Rider S
@@FXDLSBrooklyn Dude, you're killing me lol. You answered (appreciate your views) my other question with get the new tech 2023 S. I've had a regular Low rider M8 (2019) and didn't like the counterbalance engine vibrations on highway. Also I seemed to have hit riding in all the vibration points. Didn't like it. Of course love performance, but i need cornering and highway performance. I'm decisive, but struggling on this decision. Thanks for any more thoughts? Oh, here's a Blockhead video where Legacy S beat the "New Tech" S :)

I was not impressed by the out of the box performance on one of these when I rode one. Was not that much faster than my tweaked 1200 Sportster.

@@FXDLSBrooklyn Low I've been riding Harleys for 30 years. I have never seen or had a buddy of mine wreck. Call it luck or call it caution. If you're riding with guys who are wrecking, you're riding with the wrong crew and your number may be up in the future. I get the new young guys are riding in extreme ways. It's a feature of young men. But, death looms my friend. Ride safely and expel those around you who may purposely or through reckless disregard present a risk to you and your passenger.
