    The best way to put your switches is before assembly, assemble first your plate/pcb then put the switches then put it in the case.

    This was a pretty competent video for someone new to keyboarding! The main thing you got wrong was the pricing of things and really how to configure a board for sound/feel. The Hi75 is amazing value at 60-75 barebones, one of the best sounding budget boards to ever exist, but the switches and caps are very low end and insanely overpriced.
    The XDA cap profile is amazing for the fact that it's easy to dyesub and you can move novelties to any position on the board (all being the same height, leading to there being TONS of colorways), but are absolutely horrid to actually type and game on, among the worst available... That set you got should be about 9-15 bucks max, and the stem warping issue you had actually isn't even expected at that price, there are tons of totally fine cap sets in that price range. You can get incredible sets like Akko MDA white/building/cream for 30-40, Ghost Judges for 25-44, Ai Fei ABS for 9-20 single sets or 25-35 for huge double color sets, and more...
    The Outemu Panda price shown is insane as well... that's very high-end switch pricing for extreme budget switches... A 90 pack should go for less than 16 bucks, not 54, and outemu make better switches like the Jade Pinks (normal linear but uniquely quiet) and Jade Yellows (silent tactile) and Milk Tea (super deep brown-like tactile) for the same price. Outemu are also the manufacturer of Gazzew switches and now Akko's Pro lineup. But there are a wealth of very nice pre-lubed switches in 90-110 packs for 20-35 bucks. Akko, MMD, Gat SIlvers, Wuque Studios, Leobog, Kailh Box White/Jade, etc.
    There's a very quick and easy mod you can to to stabilizers to make them 100% tick and rattle free, genuinely like magic and way easier than the old Holee Mod. It's called the "Plumbers Tape Wrap Mod" with a simple dip in dielectric grease after (though you can use krytox if you have it, but it's a bit wasteful on budget stabilizers). Stabilizer rattle and tick alone genuinely gatekeep a board from sounding premium while no matter what board/switches/caps/etc, but it's such a cheap and easy fix, you don't need high end replacement stabilizers at all anymore, though TPU doubleshot ones (that use the same principle as the PTFE tape wrap) do exist now and can save the effort, just at a vastly higher cost vs 5 cents of plumbers tape.
    If you want I can recommend some different cap and switch sets to try, and some guidance on potential mods, if you want to do an update video to show how huge of an upgrade the right ones can be, even to an amazing stock board like the Hi75.

    • @camshand
      @camshand  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yo appreciate the super detailed help! This was my second keyboard build so my research and exposure has only gotten me so far for now and this extra information that directly relevant to the build is really helpful!
      I think with the keycaps the warp may be because of that uniform shape, where they've been dyed in different physical orientations after leaving the mold.
      Prices were from the retailer that sent the products. I'd love some likes or recommendations on where to find the best deals on parts for Future builds though.
      I'll look into that plumbers tape wrap mod and stabilisers. I'm yet to start exploring stabiliser mods.
      So yeah if you've got some recommendations on gold value parts and cheap place's to buy from I'm all for it. I was always worried about getting into custom keyboards because of the price but it seems there are some great value buys out there if you know what to look for!

    Honestly, when I first got the keyboard, I was absolutely astonished at how high quality the board felt. I paired the keyboard with Akko V3 Cream Blues, and the sound profile was even more mind-blowing. For the price you pay, around $70, you feel like you are getting something worth $200. Obviously, its not going to feel as premium as some of the more expensive boards, but this thing feels more premium than any other keyboard I have touched in this price range. If anyone is in the fence about getting it or not, get it. You will not have any regrets.

      Oh cool! It's a great value buy for what you get, just wish the function row wasn't locked down in the software, maybe a future update fixes it.
      And yeah I've been typing and had no issues yet on denounce 1, which is why I speculated it could be a switch specific issue as to how the contacts are made.
      What switches did you pick for your build?

      @@camshand i had gone with the akko v3 cream pro switches, i believe that the debounce issue is probably only persistent when playing games like osu! (Rhythm games)
      I doubt it would become an issue with typing, so shouldn’t be a cause for concern ☺️ i increase my debounce and everything works fine
