Thank you so much for making this hobby approachable for those of us on a budget. When I first saw custom keyboards, I thought people were crazy spending all that cash. You have proven this doesn’t have to be the case. Everyone who slaves away at the keys all day should have a board that brings them joy. Thanks for showing me how to do this!
Happy to see you review this! I got a barebones, non-RGB version on sale, and paired it with akko cream blue pro switches and mintcaps PBT keycaps. Adding a forcebreak mod (yes the screws were terrible and I won't be taking it apart again) left me with a great, creamy, marbley sound that I love gaming with
You can actually get a replacement knob! They come in 4 different colors, including white (the one I have with my Hi75) and look significantly better than the red! 😊
Oh my GOD! I just got the prebuilt hi75 with the nimbus V3 switches. I have to say I think I'm in love. Its so thocky, high quality, heavy weight, and super nice packaging. Really nice tactile volume knob, very nice quality. The only let down was the cheap coiled cable that is included. Other then that this keyboard is pure GOLD! If your thinking about getting one, I say pull the trigger.
I have been useing this keyboard for months and months now. I love it. I used Gateron Pro Yellow switches and a set of XDA profile dye sub keycaps and it sounds and feels so damn nice. I don't regret this purchase. Nice and heavy too. NO movement on my desk when I type or play. Thanks for the review... finally :)

OMG, you've finally made a video on this one! I've been planning to buy one. I already have their F87 with the Graywood V4 and I'm happy with it. The factory did a great job lubing the switches but I feel like the V3 sounds better. Sidenote though, both switches are light enough for one to mistype a lot 😅.

This video truly doesn't do justice to how good this keyboard can sound. Mine may lack some flex but with three layers of tape on the pcb it sounds amazing.
Bought this after seeing yours and a few other videos about it. It’s mind blowing thinking that a year or 2 before you can’t get a good custom mechanical keyboard for cheap and now there’s a few good aluminum options like this, the rainy75, yunzi al75, monsgeek m1 and more. Mine came with leobog’s own building block v2 tactiles. It’s so good even without any mod. Can’t believe i used to think my corsair was best mechanical keyboard for me. The difference is too much. Gamer stuffs are actually crap by comparison. I’ve begin to splurge a bit by buying a few other switches. The akko lavender purples, kailh box jades for clickies, and JWK T1s to play around with.
I Just got my hi75 in the mail today and I put my keycaps on it. It is so amazing and I am so glad I chose to ditch my GMMK2 for it. This thing feels amazing.
I removed the pe foam (leaving the pet film + plate foam and case foam) and tape mod it, put a creamy switch like a BSUN Sunset Yellow. Used DCX ABS keycaps... it sounds almost too creamy and has such a low pitched pop it's ridiculous. That pp plate makes it super creamy. You can get knob replacements for cheap. I got an opaque white for my blue board, looks perfect for just $2 shipped.
I LOVE the color scheme on the TH80 at 5:35 in the video. I have been looking for a purple and black keycap set like that for a while now. 1) do you recommend them? 2) can I get a link to purchase?
FINALLY. Been waiting for this one for quite some time. Already have this keyboard and it's my daily driver at the moment, just been waiting to hear your thoughts. I agree with everything you said wholeheartedly. *GREAT* keyboard, terrible screws (I stripped on already, and now cant get it apart... but its so good stock, so it's not that big a deal), definitely a budget king at the moment.
I bought Womier Sk71 but I was looking for 75 so I tried leobog Hi75 and now my friends are all jealous ! They're both incredible stock (One even asked me to build one for him but he needs a numpad, what is this ? Anyone knows what it is ?)
My daily use keyboard is the Leobog Hi98 which I assume has similar construction. I got it as a complete keyboard but did replace the keycaps. I like side printed keys and even with north facing LEDs (the one downside I found) they still light up fine. I don't know how many people are going to want to take the whole thing apart, but I'll definitely plan to have replacement screws if I ever do so. I guess it's subjective, but I don't know why you'd want the key plate to flex like that. Mine has a little but I associate flex like what you made it do with cheap crappy keyboards. The sound you ended up with is really not what I'd want, but if you're happy with the higher pitch clicky sound then great. I prefer the nice 'thock' mine came with from the factory. I usually like encoder knobs. The Hi98 doesn't have one, but I will agree the one on the Hi75 is pretty hideous looking. I wouldn't let that stop me from building a keyboard with it, as it's otherwise a really good keyboard.
I have this! I really enjoyed building it! Def replaced the volume knob because I hated the logo one as well! Got it off AliExpress for $4, also got a keyboard clear cover. I did pink with KTT baby rose switches and Sakura kitty caps
Just built the Hi8 Yellow one with V3 switches and Rome SA Keycaps. Looks like a bumblebee and love it. No mods so far but just sounds amazing. Think I'll skip the tape mode and stick with the factory lube.
I just got the prebuilt and it is INSANE. These random ass switches it comes with are awesome(nimbus V3). And the fact its hot swappable is pretty crazy. I wish the software was better though
Two layers of bandage tape (felty kind) at one the bottom plate instead of the plastic sheet helps with the sound and mitigates shortening concern. Should still give plenty of flex room.
Hippyo I'm surprised you haven't looked at the epomaker aula f75. It's cheaper fully built with the same amount of foam and feature set, except it supports bluetooth and 2.4 GHz. Only "drawback" is that it is a plastic case.
New subscriber here. Thanks so much for all of your hard work making these videos. You do a great job advocating for the hobby and explaining the basics to us newbies. Especially PREFERENCE!!! 😊
I can't believe you didn't try out the pre-built version! 😭 To be frank with you Hipyo it sounds way better with building block or nimbus switches. Also I promise majority of people are looking to buy the prebuilt anyways since it can be cheaper for higher quality and also it's easier/lazier. I feel like when people asked for a LEOBOG hi75 video they want to see/hear what switches and keycaps it COMES WITH, I don't mean to tell you how to run your videos but I think you could make seperate videos about what the best custom built keyboard components are (budget or not and different brands) hoping you make a new video with the pre-built 😢
MY PARTNER AND I LOVE THIS KEYBOARD! we got it like 2-3 weeks prior to the video and it's oh so good out of the box. [coming from a razer huntsman, keychron, some other budget keyboards]
Soo glad that you did a vid on this keyboard. I've been hunting for a pretty pastel blue keyboard and the Zoom75 and Rainy75 aren't possible options with one in questionable kickstarter and the other constantly sold out.
If you like hi75 you should definitely try their hi8. It’s two of the best 75% board recently along with Rainy 75. But they are both impossible to get right now. There’s also a hi98 coming out in a couple months too.
@hipyo what’s your opinion on this vs. a keychron V series keyboard since they’re at a similar price point? Seems like it’d be better to have aluminum and flex that comes with this keyboard, vs. open source software compatibility that comes with keychron , but I’m very new to this so I’d love your opinion if I’m missing some things to consider.
I was going down the custom keyboard rabbit hole. I soldered a bunch, bought a few types of switches and boards. Finally, I got into split column-staggered keyboards and Colemak-DH. If you're reading this and need the keyboard more for coding or typewriting, go straight for a split keyboard. Normal, row-staggered QWERTY is meh
Im getting a leobog hi8 soon and i will use gateron yellows lubed and filmed. Loving the foam config of leobog It sounds a million times better with all the foam 😅
Waiting for an Aula keyboard review. Leobog’s sister(?) company(?). Rocking an F87 Pro with gray wood v3 switches and it sounds good stock(preference), which I got for like 30usd converted.
Not sure if you have used them but there are switches by Leobog that thock even more than the Greywood V3 and those are the Leobog Icesoul switches. Also the Leobog Ink Crystal switches for those that like a heavier switch. They are on the Leobog website and take about three weeks to arrive but they are well worth the wait and at a decent price.
I just got one for a work keyboard and a Keychron Q1 Max for gaming. It’s insanely good value and sounds incredible out of the box. Doesn’t come close on overall feel though imo, things like the switches don’t sit as snug in the plate, standard stabs are okay at best
Okay, so after lots of research and watching tons of your videos, this is the one I finally decided to purchase because I figured i could return it if i did like it and - WOW. This keyboard is amazing. I got the Nimbus V3 switches which are also linear but take less force. I didn't do any mods and it sounds amazing, feels amazing. I just want to constantly be pressing on my keyboard.
This doesn’t blow the GMMK Pro out of the water, since it has a slightly different layout. I wanted a 75% with the Delete key to the left of the rotary knob and four keys vertically below that which I assign to Home, Page Up, Page Down and End. This one doesn’t provide that. As for the switches and keycaps, I bought the keyboard case and PCB kit from Glorious and just provided my own custom plate, switches and keycaps. I guess you were comparing prebuilt (completely assembled) versions.
I bought this keyboard recently and it is the best sounding ive every had. As for the red knob, I took it out and spray painted it white so it looks fine now. I also tried other more expensive switches in the board (kang whites, WS Morandi, AKKO cream yellow) but the Graywood v3 sound matches the Hi75 the best. I tried the Graywood v4 as well but they do not sound as good as the v3.
The issue with the screws is due to them using an extremely soft metal, possibly combined with a poorly formed head or wrong choice of bit. Picking the wrong Philips bit extremely common as some tiny screws fit the mid to larger sizes in a way that looks wrong. Which is why I prefer Torx wherever possible, with how only the right side will fit and even with softer metals you are unlikely to strip them as they seat fully or don't at all. I do not take any DIY-er who claims that Philips head is more repair or tinker friendly than Torx seriously and will die on that hill, but that's a fight for another day.
What else makes this keyboard so good is its input latency its actually 1 of the best keyboards in that area which makes it also makes it excellent for gaming just make sure u set the debounce to level 1 if you plan to also game on it
You have pulled me into the depths of the hobby with this video. Haven’t looked into the custom keyboard scene for a few years. After I saw the beautiful color of this board, that it was better than the GMMK Pro, and the price I was instantly sold. Unfortunately the Blueberry Party prebuilt variant with the blue base was out of stock so I had to spend a little more to build it myself. Snagged a white replacement knob button because the red one was cringe. Coming from a corsair K95 with rattly stabilizers and MX Browns it was a huge difference in quality (and I thought my previous upgrade from membrane to the k95 was large). I have since also ordered an ND75 by chillkey and some silent Honey Peach linears to try out. Next I am planing to try out 4 different Tactile switches at different weights to see if I prefer tactiles to linears and how heavy I line my switches.
Same situation for me. I thought my corsair k68 with its blue switches was the be all and end all of mechanical keyboard for me, i was one of those if it ain’t cherry it’s not ori. Now i bought this exact leobog keyboard, and just ordered 2 more switch types to try, one is more tactile, one is clicky. This is a rabbit hole im happy to indulge 😂
@@InnerFire6213 Tis a fun rabbit hole indeed. I like to tinker with a lot of tech so the sheer amount of options for customizability is entertaining in its own right.
@@lego_minifig it’s so cool that the entry cost for custom keyboard is so cheap now, and with that price there are a lot of good quality ones too. Just 2 years ago this hobby was quite expensive. Now, a fully aluminum, full rgb and hot swappable boards are available from affordable brands
@@InnerFire6213 Ikr! I first started looking at mechanical keyboards around 2 years ago while my cousin was building a wooden one and decided to not to take the plunge because the point of entry was a little too high for me. Now their are dozens of amazing high quality full metal entry boards for around $100 and many competent plastic options around the $60 range. Its definitely a great time to enter the hobby.
I bought this a few weeks ago with some spare Skyloong Glacier Silvers and some cheap aliexpress keycaps. It's sounds an feels great, even though I'm used to tactiles.
I just bought this keyboard on a whim after seeing this video (I bought the full prebuilt) and it's probably my favorite keyboard I've ever had. I loved it as it came but then after debating for a few hours I removed the foam on the bottom as recommended and then did a tempest mod and a force break mod (not sure if that did anything or not) and it not only sounds nearly perfect but it's a lot bouncier giving me an opportunity to tell my girlfriend about it. She loves it when I talk nerdy to her.
Solid enough, mounting is the least, effective... I agree, the knob looks out of place. Without foam apart from flexibility bonus the keypresses become so attractively deep. 👍👏
I think the hi75 works best when you take the foam out do a 1 - 2 layer tape mod so that way you can keep the flex but get some of the fullness of how it sounds with the foam
I actually really like the Hi75. I got it the other day and I understand the hype. Even right out of the box as a complete it sounds better than MOST other "budget boards." This thing is one of the best 75% budget keyboards out right now. That being said, I also got a stripped screw trying to take apart the case as well and it has never happened to me with any other boards and I have 7 :/
i've been watching your channel for probably a month now and i'm proud to say that you got me into keyboards, thank you for that! also can you please review the kraken pro 60, it's a keyboard that i've been hesitant to buy only because it's so expensive, and i wanna know if it's worth it.
Sounds better with just the plate foam IMHO! I added some plate foam from Stupidfish to my Bakeneko65 and it really filled out the sound on it. Almost picked this up a few times but just can't get over the knob... great review!
Found it on Amazon for $59 and couldn't resist due to all the praise. Got a black one, added Leobog Reapers and some DCX WoB and it indeed sounds amazing with a nice little pop on bottom out. The knob with black then WoB actually looks pretty nice! Glad I was able to come back to your review before hitting purchase last night! While it's nice, I wouldn't say it's as nice as a GMMK Pro with flex kit, definitely close though, when you consider the price for the GMMK with a flex kit, it would make no sense to spend that much $$$ when you can get this that is so close right out of the box for literally about 1/4th of the price. Especially considering neither of them are VIA/QMK.
Ive got this keyboard in my Amazon cart and was hoping you'd do a review 😊 and voila, thanks Hipyo!! It sounded more deeper on Amazon but its prob coz its them.advertising and selling it.
Could you do a summary video of some of the best value keyboards on the market rn? I feel like you make a video like this on every week and I'm losing track of what is out there.
The best switches to be paired with is the KTT kang white switches, if you can get it lube, so better. It sounds so creamy and soft thocky. That's what I have now
Im looking to buy a kit for the Hi75 but I don't know if I should buy it from EPOMAKER or Amazon. EPOMAKER has pre orders for specific colours but I don't know the brand very well. Anyone have any recomendations?

Think I'll skip the tape mode and stick with the factory lube.
you can replace the knob with replacement parts specficially made for the hi75 online but the knob is painful to remove
this board plus akko V3 creamy yellow pro switches and moa profile pbt keycaps=absolute heaven
I beg Hipyo, please try out the Epomaker X Aula F75 !!
I need to hear your opinions on it, it also has a knob 👀
I recently ordered Epomeker x Feker Galaxy80. Any comparisons?
I want a big red button. My setup is all red. I love red. Red button fan over here.
Congrats on 1 mil!!
Leobog sells replacement knob parts. I really don't like the knob either, but the white and clear replacement buttons make it much better.
I also appreciate hipyo tech so much for being so influential! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
There’s also a hi98 coming out in a couple months too.
bro what i love the big red button. thats one of the biggest things that drew me to this board in particular lol
have been wathcing your content for a while LOVE IT
I was just on a hunt for a 75. Just ordered the rainy 75 from Ali based on your video. Hopefully, it was the right decision.
has yours arrived yet?
@hipyo what’s your opinion on this vs. a keychron V series keyboard since they’re at a similar price point? Seems like it’d be better to have aluminum and flex that comes with this keyboard, vs. open source software compatibility that comes with keychron , but I’m very new to this so I’d love your opinion if I’m missing some things to consider.
Would u recommend the Rainy 75 or the Loubog hi75? Which one would give the thockier sound using same switches and keycaps.
Try the EPOMAKER X AULA F75 next its one of the cheapest 75% keyboards that come with thock (leobog reaper switches pls)
Im getting a leobog hi8 soon and i will use gateron yellows lubed and filmed. Loving the foam config of leobog
It sounds a million times better with all the foam 😅
Filmed ?
There is an absolutely insane black friday sale on the grey version of this board right now, 11/22/24. Not sure how long it will last
Yooo. I literally came to your page to see if you tested this keyboard last night! I'm so happy you got to it!
Okay, so after lots of research and watching tons of your videos, this is the one I finally decided to purchase because I figured i could return it if i did like it and -
WOW.
What else makes this keyboard so good is its input latency its actually 1 of the best keyboards in that area which makes it also makes it excellent for gaming just make sure u set the debounce to level 1 if you plan to also game on it
Hey Hipyo! I don’t know if you’ll see this but I was wondering in your wooden keyboard SHORT what are the specs and mods? Anything you remember helps!
Wooden KL90
@@HipyoTech what switches? That’s all I need to know I have the rest figured out
I’ve got my hi75 loaded with akko v3 lavender purples and xda pbt keycaps. Sounds like marbles. Blows me away every time I use it.
The red knob is the sole reason I kept passing on this keyboard. Got me a Rainy75 now.
Me too.. The knob is wo weird, why they not using the "normal" and simple knob..
Got me Ajazz AK820 GTS now
You can swap it out. Got mine in white
Leobog Hi75 (white barebones)+ KTT Hyacinth 81 switches (factory lubbed)+ Evangelion Unit 02 MA profile keycaps => perfect combination
too smooth!
I actually really like the Hi75. I got it the other day and I understand the hype. Even right out of the box as a complete it sounds better than MOST other "budget boards." This thing is one of the best 75% budget keyboards out right now.
That being said, I also got a stripped screw trying to take apart the case as well and it has never happened to me with any other boards and I have 7 :/
saying it's not as good as the rainy 75 is a bit unrealistic. I can get the leobog for 90$ Cad but the Rainy is about 300$ CAd
My wife has this keyboard with Jwick V1 switches and cutesy MOA profile keycaps and yes, it does sound like heaven.
i've been watching your channel for probably a month now and i'm proud to say that you got me into keyboards, thank you for that! also can you please review the kraken pro 60, it's a keyboard that i've been hesitant to buy only because it's so expensive, and i wanna know if it's worth it.
I just bought it so excited cant wait
Just got this keyboard kit yesterday. It arrived missing the ribbon cable between the daughter board and the PCB. Any recs on a replacement ribbon???
You can actually buy a seperate knob for the Leobog Hi75, they're pretty nice looking too.
I have tried this keyboard and it made my current Weikav WK75 modded keyboard feel like trash.
Hay Hipyo, can you try epomaker x aula f75😅?
That's what I have now
Hipyo > "DO NOT REMOVE SWITCHES LIKE THIS 8x"
My brain > I gotta try that
Than you for mentioning the Fu&%ng screws! I stripped 2 of them and it was a pain to recover them.
Im looking to buy a kit for the Hi75 but I don't know if I should buy it from EPOMAKER or Amazon. EPOMAKER has pre orders for specific colours but I don't know the brand very well. Anyone have any recomendations?
One thing that is very important about this keyboard, is they sell it on Amazon here in Europe!
SO CLACKY ARE THERE KEEBS WITH SOFT SOUND BUT CHEAP? OR ITS LIKE WISHING FOR SNOW IN A TROPICAL COUNTRY
