I don't understand why D. Hofmann didn't mention environmental reasons for migrations like transitions of so-called climatic warm/cold periods, local and regional flood events or volcanic eruptions. These events have direct and partly long lasting effects on agriculture, trade and societal structures. Take for example the Black See events around 6.500 years ago. Or the Santorini volcanic eruption ca. 3.500 years ago. Or the climatic cold period between late 8th century and 11th century AD in middle Europe or Sahara dry/wet changes every 5.000 years. As to my knowledge these have been the main drivers for migrations and dispersal over the last seven thousand years.

I would have hoped the first presenter would have mentioned potential impacts of disease a little more often.
