  • I think these are under appreciated pseudo luxury daily drivers that were never as popular as the Ford Taurus, but I keep finding them so must have lasted longer.
    Interesting take on the early 2000s working person's mid range sedan.

    mines at 182,000 never had any problems with it except electrical issues (from having sat for a year). FL kept & driven so no major rust, just chipped clear on the bumpers and a couple bubbled spots. steal of a car for $1200. lots of random plastic/rubber trim and seals rotted/broken but thats about it. no sunroof though 😅

    My grandma, the same one who had that road master I told you about, a silver colored sable was the last car she had before she gave up driving.

    My Dad owned a 2001 Sable LS Premium looked exactly like this car but ours was in excellent condition and only difference I can spot is ours had the older crescent third brake light in the back windows same as the Tauruses from 96. Ours had the floor shifter and the High Output 24V engine, with Chrome SHO styled wheels Was a fast, sleek car, upgraded it to a 2010 Fusion Sport also in. Silver and that car is mine now still perfect also a rare to see breed of car being a first gen Fusion Sport.

    I like those 1996-2007 Taurus seeans too! Since many were equipped with the front split bench seating and column shifter like those Town Cars. Plus are midsized and not as big.

      The wagons are the biggest treat for 2004-2007 to me.

      We used to rent Tauruses all day ever day. They were big enough to fe a "full size" and cheap enough to be subbed for compacts :)

    The 2003 Mercury Sable has been a nice vehicle, but it has been discontinued & they're no longer available as NEW anymore.

    I am slightly a fan of the 2003 Mercury Sable LS sedan and the 2003 Ford Taurus SE sedan, which are both identical with the 3 L Duratec V6 engine and the regular four-speed automatic transmission. They both seat five passengers and the transmission is a floor shifter.

      Hey how good are these cars I was looking into a 2004 , I've had 2 grand Marquis that have been wonderful, but how reliable are the sables, can they get 300k?

  • @s31463221

    I’ve always liked those, although I’ve never owned one before. Back in the mid 90’s we were given a 95 Taurus as a loaner....if you recall, those were more of the football shape and I truly despised that thing....now these models seem a little more refined, although those switches in the gauge cluster like that leave me scratching my head some! Since the whole “cash for clunkers” debacle, these are few and far between around here anymore.

    • @VitaliyKofman
      @VitaliyKofman  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      They were always under appreciated. These are simple "luxury" cars for the masses.

    Look at that parking job haha I agree I like this one better than the Taurus counterpart. But it’s still not my favorite design. I’d buy that old Mercury from my video from yesterday rather than this 😬
