  • Join architect Mark Loughnan at Anzac Station to discover the ‘Open Metro’ philosophy shaping the 5 new Metro Tunnel stations.
Learn how natural daylight, fresh air, weather protection and generous open buildings connect 3 different parts of the city.
This design is a world-class collaboration between leading design practices Hassell, Weston Williamson + Partners and RSHP.

What connects these 5 stations? A pair of tunnels, of course.

I really hope it stays one lane of traffic per direction once it's complete too!
People should be priority around transport hubs like this, looking good

Do you mean St. Kilda Rd? I can't find St. Kilda Boulevard on a map.

They look great overall. But some of the overbearing lighting fixtures and colours are not great... reminds me of those dated cheap designs in docklands. :(

Plus I can already see where they've cut corners with the wall cladding, lighting and barriers at Arden Station. I hope they realise the mistakes there and improve.

It's good to extend to the local and historical context of the community so that kids can jump the low glass walls and/or squeeze through the gaps and/or just smash them a la mooroolbark lol, I can already see the gaps to jump through in the designs. What a waste of my 40% in taxes

Anzac station looks ugly and boring but functional at least. Why green poles?

Agreed. The rest of the design is somewhat tasteful, but the green poles are just abhorrent 😟

@@MachineInput Nothing in that park is THAT shade of green. Hideous.

Would grey poles be better? The stations are made to blend in to their environment and history
