Etrian Odyssey is a DS/3DS-exclusive first-person dungeon crawler RPG series that featured a custom map on the bottom screen that you had to draw yourself as you explored the layered labyrinthian setting. The original Etrian Odyssey OST was actually created with the same FM sound font that the SEGA Genesis used, which composer Yuzo Koshiro has been working with for a very long time and is very fond of. But for the Untold games, which are remakes of the first two Etrian Odyssey entries, he remade the entire original soundtrack with modern instrumentation alongside the originals. If you're interested in more of that kind of sound, I can recommend "War - Shadows of Death over there" from the same game, which in my opinion goes even harder.
Battlefield- Swords Swung or Raise Thy Swords is the other name by the way. It is, however, the battle theme of the extra dungeon (in classic mode) or major story dungeon aside from the main Yggdrasil Labyrinth (in story mode). The place also has its own boss theme compared to Scarlet Rain, the normal boss theme, or themes for particular bosses and encounters (i.e. Final Boss themes, Guardians of the Sorrowful Ice, Scatter About).
I believe it's meant to be pronounced "Jai-noon-gah-gap," meaning "the great void" (or, more literally, "the yawning gap."). In Norse Myth, it's the nothingness that existed before the world came into being, which was filled when the cold of Niflheim and the heat of Muspelheim met and gave birth to the cosmos.
Personally, the standard battle theme and boss theme of Ginnungagap in Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold don't do it for me. They're not bad, but I just never really latched on to them. The bass is something that many Etrian Odyssey themes do really well. It always slaps really hard. And yeah... Several people have mentioned it already, but everyone that follow you are waiting for one of the really big ones in Etrian Odyssey. "End of Raging Waves"

Don’t forget the Etrian Mystery Dungeon theme. It’s an exploration take on the song and it’s wonderful
the Etrian Odyssey series has such great music, especially V with the battle theme for the 6th stratum, flashing blades.

Yuzo and Etrian Odyssey may have old-school sensibilities, but they're pretty recent. Untold 2 is on the 3DS and came out in 2014.
