Been taking black garlic for the last few years now, last winter the flu season hit really hard.... people died from it and many people were sick around me. I took my black garlic... two to three cloves a day... along with but few other supplements. I did not get sick and also I I want to mention I DO NOT take the flu shot. So I highly recommend black garlic.. so many health benefits!😊

I like to ferment my garlic in honey every year. I just cover the garlic with honey and crack the lid every day for the first few months. Garlic fermented in honey is also easy to eat raw by itself. Much easier to eat then raw unfermented garlic. When I'm done with the garlic, I use the honey in my tea. Have NOT been sick in YEARS and now I'm in my mid 50s. An apple a day keeps the doctor away. An apple, and a clove of garlic, keeps him WAY away!

I've done this twice. What I have now has been in a jar for 7 months. It tastes good but I'm not even sure if it's fermented. It darker. But I know honey is antibacterial so it seems it wouldn't ferment. Seems to be mixed opinions on it. I'll keep doing it though as I enjoy the taste and garlic has benefits regardless

I made some during this last winter. Its great. It melts in the mouth. I simply set the fermenter for 9 days. It takes care of the rest. With the 9 days the larger pieces are a softer texture than the smaller. But the flavor is almost like soy sauce or Worcestershire. Take care

We heard about this first time from Dr Berg, decided to try it out. It was hard to find, but finally got something located. We tried one little portion of it. OH MY GOD - It tasted so so so so good. Had a pregnancy like craving for it. It was quite expensive to buy in the portions that we would consume it, so my husband bought a mashine to ferment the garlic. We just got our first big portion of black garlic yesterday, and now I don't have time to write more, because the black garlic is waiting for me out in the kitchen - uhmmmmm - tasty stuff.

Black garlic is like healthy candy. It mellows the taste to a subtle sweetness and it becomes a spreadable paste naturally. All you need is a ricer cooker on "keep warm" setting and a outdoor setting with AC outlet and some protection from the rain and patience. It's just garlic not a fancy breed.

I'm starting to make Black Garlic... It doesn't have to be heated to 170 Degrees... Nor does it take 30 days. 120 -140 Degrees for 14 days is sufficient. A rice steamer, with an insulating mat in the bottom, is all one needs. There are several videos on TH-cam, on how to make it. Great video and it's awesome that you discuss this topic. :-)

I grow the elephant garlic. It gives you scapes first that are delicious. About 120 plants this year. I set aside the largest cloves for seed to plant this fall.
Thin I set aside the best bulbs to cure out for storage . Then I grate the smaller clove and make dehydrated garlic. It’s super crunchy . Then
I make black garlic. I takes 9-14 days.
depending on type of garlic..it’s the treat of the harvest I can’t make it fast enough

Black Garlic is OUTSTANDING ‼️I literally spread (it is soft) a bit on a sandwich or bagel. I have offered it randomly to friends and family. They scrunch their noses at it but I have to explain it does not taste the same as raw garlic. It’s a little sweeter it’s soft and very delectable. I am happy to know there are so many benefits to it because I absolutely love it❤‼️👍👍👍

I eat a whole bulb per day and have been feeling great. I love black garlic. Wanting to make my own, and not owning a rice maker or a slow cooker with a warm setting, I bought a black garlic maker. I was unable to find a maker that ran for longer than 12 days. Mine runs for 12 days, at the recommended temperature, but actually the garlic is perfect, black and soft and flavorful, in 6 days. I have only made 4 batches but it seem like the longer I leave it in the cooker after 6 days the more problems I have; some garlic gets rubbery and on the garlic that stays soft, the papery parts seem to bond to the garlic so I have a harder time getting them off. It bothers me that I am not cooking as long as you and almost everyone who talks about black garlic says. I wonder if my garlic, which tastes like what I bought, has all the nutritional benefits I want. I looked again for a black garlic make that cooked for longer, but did not find one.

    • @jlibermann6136

You are spot on. The people who use a rice cooker (rice cooker is originally not intended for this purpose) will warm need to leave the garlic in the cooker 12 to 3o days to blacken it. But since you have a dedicated black garlic maker it should only need to be in it for 6 to 12 days. Follow your cookers instructions and enjoy.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but regular garlic and black garlic do exactly the same things, except one is stronger smelling? Because I eat a lot of home grown garlic and don't really mind the taste, smell, aftertaste, whiffy breath.
And if your significant other eats it along with you, then no worries, everybody smells funky.
Sooo... long story short: Is there a substantial difference in it's effects over regular, non fermented garlic?

bought 1 lbs from Amazon it was absolutely delicious.........and then I purchased the fermenting apparatus as it was only 3 times the price of buying the already fermented garlic online. I eat a whole bulb per day and have been feeling great. They show you on you tube how to do it in a rice cooker but all you are doing is cooking the garlic slowly to being black fermenting is different and better for your gut. P.S. I am not advertising for any fermenting machine :-)

Had severe/chronic shoulder inflammation/tendonitis for months. Decided to give black garlic a try (6 bulbs) and the next day no shoulder pain. I believe my shoulder pain was from long covid.

Gee, thanks for your comment! I've had right shoulder impingement (frozen shoulder) with bicep tendonitis for almost a year. I feel crippled and it's so painful. Can't even sleep near enough. Went to physical therapy, took the docs anti-inflammatory pill, even had a cortisone shot, and.... nothing., I will make this black garlic today. May take a month to ripen, so I'll try to find it in the market. Even if it doesn't help the shoulder and arm, it has so many other benefits. But, your comment sure set a fire under me! Thanks so much.

Fermented garlic (black) is delicious. I purchase it, but understand it's quite easy to make. The key is to use organic garlic. Great video! I was happy to learn of all the benefits. Love your videos!

Isn't garlic highly unstable and therefore should not be cooked/fried or else it looses it's benefits and becomes slightly harmful?

What is most important to take this out of my organs. I only take it because it has grown viens back into my foot, where before i had non regenerate. I know i need to (wean) off of it,tho i'm still using walking cane. Doing stretches you recommend to get hips and central body muscles back. Thank you!

why dont you just do 24hrs fasting everyday instead. Going above 48hrs fasting doesnt really do much for autophagy.
