  • test drive and review of TractionConcepts limited slip conversion. Had a spare diff laying around, (3.92) so I reached out to them and had them work their magic because one wheel peel was hurting my sector times. Open diff also makes the car unpredictable but once the locking diff was swapped in, it was day and night difference in fun factor and capability.

    Sounds like a perfect upgrade with no drawbacks. Wish they made a conversion kit for the A650E transmission in my '98 SC400

      Well this is on a a650e, the diff is a 3.92. You can buy a spare diff from the junkyard for cheap and ship it to them to get the work done for additional cost or take your 3.26 out and send it to them. I'd give them a call or email to see what they can do for you based on your needs

    Beautiful sound, exit corners look like you're putting your pedal on it and it really sharpens the turns. Impressive

    have you driven a torsen in these cars? would be interested to hear how it compares.
    also what is the gearbox situation in this car? and does it have a secondary rev limiter around 6k

    • @saeturn29
      @saeturn29  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Never driven an sc with a torsen setup. Mine is strictly going from an open 3.26 to a lsd conversion 3.92.
      As far as gearbox goes, it's currently a 5spd auto a650e. I do have a cd009 out of an 07 350z that will be used for a manual conversion in the future.

    What front tire are you running? I've measured off my 255's I have on all corners and it looks like at stock ride height you can fit either 275's or 285's since they are usually around the same width depending on brand.

    Would this work with a factory w58?

    • @saeturn29
      @saeturn29  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It should as it has nothing to do with the transmission. This is strictly the rear differential

    • @campaignslayer

      That’s what I was thinking. I went to their website and in the listing it only mentioned the auto trans so I wasn’t sure. Thank you for the response brother.

      @@campaignslayer it's just a generic listing. It will work as long as your diff is 3.26/3.77/3.82/4.10 etc.

      I was told by Tractionconcepts at some point they did carry the kit but not enough demands, so they removed it from inventory. It was until i got in touch with them and used my spare diff as a test mule. These beats welding your diff because of street use will not cause any binding when making turns and such.

    • @sandpiper1515
      @sandpiper1515 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@saeturn29 I can see why 500 is a lot for an lsd conversation kit. Back when these were sold it was almost the same price as an actual lsd if thats what they were selling for.

    • @saeturn29
      @saeturn29  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@sandpiper1515 a true clutch type lsd will run you just over $1k now days. Again this is a spare 3.92 i had for dirt cheap from the junk yard. This beats having a welded diff for what i use it for, Track/Canyon and street without having to deal with annoying bindups or tire skipping.
