Not sure how many times I compared this to Mega Man in this video and for good reason! The page I was getting composer info off of didn't list Manami Matsumae for some reason, but Matsumae did great work on, you guessed it, MEGA MAN. Glad I caught on to that but wish I knew beforehand.

Actually she worked on two songs in the shovel knight ost! 'flowers of antimony' and 'a thousand leagues below'.
On another note, I hope you do take the time to listen to this soundtrack in its entirety. I never thought I'd listen to a game soundtrack recreationally as often as this one. The most "Interesting" ones to me are Courage Under Fire, A Cool Reception (according to Jake Kaufman, his favorite track to create), and "Of Devious Mechinations".
I know you don't have time to react to everything, but I'd love to hear your thoughts on some of the stage music vs. its boss theme music. Like, Treasure Knight's stage/boss tracks "A Thousand Leagues Below" and "The Bounty Hunter".
Either way... thanks for what you've already done! Great to watch, very much appreciate the work.
Yeah this games soundtrack is amazing it has just the same catchy chiptune music older games had but enhanced

Consider looking at some tracks from the 3 other shovel knight campaigns too, they have some amazing music that really doesn't get talked about enough.
My favourites would be Cruise Control and The Crosswise Crosswinds.
2 tracks for this game were composed by Manami Matsumae who composed both Mega Man 1 and 2. A Thousand Leagues Below and Flowers of Antimony, these 2 were actually my favorites even before knowing she was the one who made them. I guess nostalgia don't lie ^^
Just the beginning of Strike The Earth.. that epic buildup... like, you KNOW you are in for a fast-paced heroic treat. Very Megaman-esque.

Also, they all loop like 3 times in the OST tracks, so there's no need to listen to the full tracks in the reaction video.
I highly recommend you listen to the soundtrack for a similar indie game called Cathedral. It's quite obscure but so, so high quality. It really deserves more attention.
Hey Techno. I beg you.... Would you include the track "Courage Under Fire"? It is such a sing-songy piece that tells a story, of an adventurer visiting an armorers outpost, with anvil strikes on every other downbeat. It's absolutely my favorite piece in the series, and I never hear anybody dissect it.
Yeah this will be a fun one to dig into. Uploading a Shovel Knight video today but that song isn't on it so will check it out soon. Thanks!
Besides some obvious bangers that I as well enjoy way to much as the other people do.
What I want to highlight is something not too often commented and that is the track "The Starlit Wilds" that sounds while Shovel Knight is sleeping and dreaming of saving Shield Knight and its mention and overall heroic interpretation mixed with some motives of the main theme of Shovel Knight in the track "The Betrayer" where Shield Knight stands along with Shovel Knight to face the final boss.
It is a stupendous attention to detail. The soundtrack to Shovel Knight is a masterpiece.
Great video. One OST I'd love if you could cover(Although, the songs are kinda long) is Vortex on the Super Nintendo.
