Very nice to see some action with Amtrak’s F40PHs and Budd Metroliners! Especially the F40PHs as not only are they one of the greatest locomotives build, but they also saved Amtrak.
That semi at the 11:22 mark driving around the gates in front of a train must be on a life or death mission! Awesome videos thank you for posting them!
Footage of the Capitoliner/Metroliner equipment operating is quite rare, so this is awesome! I wish more than just 1 car had been saved, they were so ahead of their time. And in their original all-stainless-steel look they were gorgeous as well.
Oh, yes, the Strasburg Railroad, one of my favorite train rides in the United States. I've been to that railroad when I was on vacation with my family last month. The best part of the side trip is that the one and only Norfolk and Western J Class 4-8-4 #611 was there.
Great stuff Walt! I think I remember some of your 765 footage made it into "Lots & Lots of Trains". Did you happen to catch any footage of Amtrak's Broadway Limited during this time?
Yes is the short answer. You might check my channel playlist, specifically Trains of the 1980s for shots of the Broadway. Look for videos with Amtrak in the title.
It’s upsetting how mainline steam excursion operations aren’t like this anymore. Wish they will just come back to life under steam again on the mainline in the future! Who agrees with me?
Gotta love the Metroliner’s shrill call at 4:04.
Indeed!
4:03 nice old capitoliner horns tho kinda similar of a Leslie S35 And Leslie S37 from a Budd Metroliners
Thanks for letting me know ☺️

Yeah, part of railfanning is catching that stuff. I'm glad you enjoyed the show.
This is incredible!
I'm glad you're pleased ☺️.

I consider myself extremely lucky to have gotten those shots. I wasn't out to shoot Metroliners in particular, I just happened to be there.
8:03 Conrail trains!

So I have heard.☺️
@@WaltLoevyActionTrainVideos Yeah, I'm happy I got to see that beautiful steam locomotive. I'll never forget that day.
Why did I think of Fred Rogers at 6:01?
Hmmm...

11:27 Seriously, dude?
Imagine how nervous I was standing next to the camera.

Yes, it was better back in the day.
Amazing video! How about that truck driver 😬
Yeah, that was a little scary. I'm glad you liked the show.
That’s awesome, to bad 31 will never run again.
Never say never, but yes, I have to acknowledge you're probably right.
