I can genuinely imagine someone blindly following this advice and actually jacking up their car. You'd feel like such a wally when you finished and lowered it down.
@jcadlols The actual seat is lighter but the baseframes probably bring it about even, we tried out one of the kevlar race seats in the RS which you could lift with one finger. Fixed back and not quite as suited to a road car though
I love you guys, you are not only very enthusiastic about what you do, but you are also informative and interesting, even with a 10-15 minute video, not once was I bored. Great chemistry on the show and funny too. Keep it up guys, love what you're doing.
but ya all joking aside, there really isn't a point in changing rear bench seat, cause one they don't make rear racing seats and two they don't add any function or comfort that your existing seats don't already have. your money would be more well spent detailing your interior.
You guys inspired me. I'm gonna get an S15. I was thinking about a BMW M235i, but in the end it will be only my second car and I don't want to shell out that much. MAAAD.
Excellent review however I wish you guys had showed us a very important step that I KNOW you guys took - removing the positive battery cable, then wait 30 minutes before you unplug the air bag circuit beneath the seats as to avoid having the bags accidentally go off or throwing a code. Beyond that great install plus you two have great personalities that make you entertaining.
Please make a video about beginner car selection and good cars for people getting their P plates that are; fast, cool and under 10k [need cash for mods ;)]
EF/EL Falcon XR6, one of the quickest cars that are p plate legal, handle pretty good, heaps of space, and the engine responds extremely well to mods. Can be had with manual in mint condition for 3k, and come factory with like 168kw and a short ratio LSD. That is if you are in Australia of course.
I wanted those seats, or similar, into my Mondeo... But the stock seats have an airbag, so how can i change it safely? Thanks, i love this MartyCarMoogs show ;D
You need to install a roll cage to safely use a 4 or 5 point racing harness. It is possible to install a racing harness to your seat mounting bolts bolts or a harness bar, but those are both stupid ideas. If you ever roll the car, the racing harness will prevent you from folding forward like the stock seat belt allows you to in the event of a roll over and you will die. Install a proper roll cage, then bolt the racing harness to that.
On certain cars you can attach a harness to the bolts of the back seat which is still bolted to the car and prevents you from moving a whole hell of a lot during a roll or crash
SR7 and since i believe you are from Croatia make sure to check www(.)recaro-hr(.)com pretty sure they still do advice what seat to get and how to fit the seat for your car. If brand new seats are too expensive and you are willing to deal with someone elses grime check auction sites (:
YES! Thank god you guys are finally doing the you tube thing. you guys need some seriouse exposure. Everyone should watch your vids. I think discovery Turbo would eat you guys up for breakfast your amazing! SuzukiBoi out!
So what can I do with the old seats after putting new seats in? I've looked around on the internet but I keep getting things about child car seats. I've already made an office chair from an old subaru seat so I'm out of ideas.
If you're into gaming and have a steering wheel for your PC/console, you can build yourself a kind of cockpit with some PVC pipes, wood or steel (depends on your budget and skills). Another idea I is a couch made of carseats, but for that you need a few more seats. But if you don't like those ideas, you could just sell them.
Joshua Redford If you listen at the end of the video Moog whispered: "You don't have to jack up your cah.." lol, I found that funny because I was wondering the same thing.
Does anyone knows if these seats are commfortable? I have a 350z and the stock seats destroy my lower back every time i drive for more than an hour, thanks for the video guys!
The biggest problem are the mounting brackets, on average they are $250. Also you have to make sure the Racing Seats you buy have sliders if not you have buy them separately. Also if you want the dual harness etc For everything its $700-800!
it depends on what kind of seat you're getting. there's also different tiers that meet different safety standards and such, but recaros go for around $1200-$2400 each.
+Watching TH-cam Look at anything by Recaro, you'll need to choose between a fixed or reclining seat. Also if it's a pure track only car or a car you'll be using on the road in traffic. If you're looking at using your car on the road than you'll need something with the (ABE) certification. I'd recommend the RECARO Pole Position (ABE), but you may need a reclining seat to get comfortable at your height. Hope this helps!
+Alex V really? Then I'm just lucky or treat my tools better because they're still going strong several years after I bought them. The impact wrench is at least 3-4 years old and works like new!
Alex V Congrats, we both have tools that are still running perfecting years after purchase! Now that we're done comparing dicks, lets go our separate ways and do something productive.
@Tinydevil12 It's a good piece of advice. You wouldn't believe how many people I know who have ripped out the seats in their vans, thrown in a couch and then called it a day.
I'm putting standard fit crx seats in my 2005 ford fiesta and in the fiesta the seat belt receiver piece is mounted on the seats. But there is no belt receiver place on the crx seats. What do I do?
Guys, one biggie you didn't mention was the pre tensioners. These things have an explosive charge! And then there is the air-bags too. There has been reports of triggering the air-bags while changing to sport seats. So, if your car had these things the first thing to do is either PULL THE FUSE or DISCONNECT THE BATTERY!!!! If any of these are activated you can make a bloody mess of the dash and get seriously injured.

As someone who knows nothing about this, but i got the feeling that, they were just trolling, right ?
ZeppinnEU Well there are some older cars that have a long bolt that goes through to the bottom.
So don't forget to jack up your owners manual.
Now for extra safety if you want, you can bolt them in.
@Slacking02 The seats are made to be fitted passenger or driver side and have forward leavers on both sides of the headrest.
