Revelation 13:3 says that it was a mortal head wound in the original text, and it said that he was wounded to death and later it says he came back to life this was not a death shot.
It also said it would be a sword. But you must realize that it is metaphor. Nobody is gonna get a sword in the head in 2024. During biblical times, they had no idea what a gun or bullet was. And when it talks about fire from the sky, do you think they are literally speaking of fireballs coming from the clouds? Of course not. It means missiles, it means nukes. We are told the anti-Christ must arrive on the scene first, before Jesus returns. And this anti-Christ will hoodwink the entire world in one way or another. He will do wondrous and Magnificent things. People will follow him who you would never expect to see following him. People who believe in chastity, marriage and honor, will follow a man who is a libertine, a womanizer, a fornicator, etc. Let's just face facts. It's happening. Someone once said we will see Satan right before our eyes and yet not see him until it's too late. So I ask you, who, walking among us right now comes closer to that description? This man's claim to fame was owning gambling casinos, right? Most real Christians would consider such places to be Dens of Iniquity. I wouldn't put it past him to hold a rally in Vegas in the parking lot of the Treasure Island Hotel & Casino. And you know what, the place would be jam-packed with the red hat wearing masses who after the rally will go into the casino to place their bets and pull those slot handles hoping for fireball 777's to pop up. And many of these folks will claim to be fundamentalist evangelical Christians just having a little fun. Trump has also hobknobbed with pornographers, strippers and other lowlifes. Was it so he could bring them into the light of righteousness? Are you kidding me? Pay attention, people. Pay attention because your very eternal souls just might depend on it.

People are trying to say Trump's ear getting shot is the fulfillment of Rev 13:3 but it can't be because it wasn't a fatal wound. No one is going to marvel over that aside from the fact that it was such a near miss. Obviously not a fulfillment of that prophecy.

Being a Puertorrican, seeing how things are going in the USA, knowing that it will inevitably affect my Island, my people, without us being even able to vote for the president here, it's just depressing. I agree totally. I am a Christian and I consider myself to be a conservative. However I have been concerned as well in recent months about people in BOTH political parties (not just one) idolizing (worshipping) the political candidates as their savior - their "only hope" for the future. Certain people say the current president is the only one who can save democracy by protecting us from, i.e., defeating the other candidate. I don't care what people say, that is just as much a form of worship as what the other side is doing. I will say the tipping point for me with former president Tru-mp was when someone (I don't even remember who it was) brought out a literal gold statue (image) of him at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) a couple of years ago. I literally cringed and my heart was so saddened by what I was witnessing. The first thing I thought about was the children of Israel worshipping the golden calf in the book of Exodus. As a friend of mine said, there never has been and never will be a savior at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, (the White House).
You must not talk to many Democrats if you think they consider their presidential nominee a personal savior.
Just about all of them would prefer other options. Even now that Biden is gone, people would prefer Bernie to Kamala.

this is but a shadow of things yet to come
So does any of Revelation relate to our times? Or only to Roman Empire times....what about the beast ruling for 42 months and Armageddon? Was that about the Roman empire also.

this attempt to try and force most of revelation into the first few centuries is fairly novel. The reason the church believe that much of revelation was talking about them was because they believed that Christ would be coming back immediately to setup his 1000 year reign. they believed those events were exclusively tied to Christ's second coming. It wasn't until some time later that you had some attempts to allegorize the text. Augustine believed that there wasn't an antichrist but rather a spirit of antichrist. But that was a minority opinion. Most of the church still believed there was a coming antichrist. Luther did as well.
My question is this: you're telling me the church lived through the period of the antichrist and didn't know it? They had to wait for us nearly 2000 years later to explain this? How does that make any sense?

The beast in this context is a political system, or nation. This is the same context as the 4 beasts in Daniel chapter 7. The beast with the mortal wound is Babylon resurrected in the end times.

Revelation is not a prophetic book. Everything in Revelations (meaning "to reveal", not "to predict") has already happened. Good question, in my opinion, and I'm still looking for accuracy, the prophecies in the Bible that are fulfilled, were on point accurate. The wounded head prophecy, applied to Trump, is not exactly on point. When we all watched this, at least for me, when the shots rang out, and he went down, I honestly did not think he was dead. In fact, he never went lifeless, or was all the way down, when Secret Service surrounded him. They were communicating with him the whole time. That for me, indicates that the wounded head of the beast prophecy, is in all likelihood, doesn't apply directly to Trump. But, our quick move to marvel and worship the idea of Trump being a kind of Savior, directly applies. The Bible specifically warns of this.

There's tons of things. Original name in German is Donald Johann Drumpf. 666. Drumpf means pompous/arrogant. He marks all his buildings with his name. God doesn't issue brownie points for being kinda-sorta-halfway righteous. Plus, there are numerous points in the Old testament where God admonishes the Israelites for worshipping him with their mouth, while turning their back to them, meaning he's not interested in our lip-service worship if the actions of our personal lives don't match.
Neither political party is righteous and are in fact worldly institutions, but since Republicans have somehow convinced Christians that they are the safe party I will say this - I don't think God is pleased with a political party that exclaims him with their lips, while turning their backs on the poor, especially when Jesus has taught us that whatever we do to the least of these we do unto him. This means that turning your back on the poor is tantamount to turning your back on God, just as much as the promotion of sinful lifestyles that we see on the left.
In my personal opinion, I consider both parties to be a part of the double helix of our impending destruction. Although rarely mentioned, Sodom and Gomorrah was destroyed by God not only because of their sexual immorality but because they did not consider the poor. We know this because Ezekiel 16:49-50 says:
49 Behold, this was the guilt of your sister Sodom: she and her daughters had pride, excess of food, and prosperous ease, but did not aid the poor and needy. 50 They were haughty and did an abomination before me. So I removed them, when I saw it.
Make no mistake, God is not pleased or impressed with either political party, but he doesn't "need" either party to be on their best behavior to work out his will on the earth. He doesn't have to pick one or the other because he could destroy both if and when he saw fit. It is only by his mercy that our nation stands and we should always approach his blessings with humility and gratitude, and not the haughty arrogance that is often on display within our politics. But if you don't believe this, just ask yourself, when he was displeased with the disobedience of both Adam and Eve, which one of them did he choose to kick out of the garden? Think about it.

I was so far on the Trump train, I would try to think of something... Anything he's said or done that I disapproved of, so I could prove to myself that I wasn't just blindly following him. But I couldn't think of anything. However, after this event, I started to feel strange. The photo looked like a photo op to me. A small part of me was wondering if it was staged. I began to notice all the worship and prophecies surrounding Trumps name. Kim Clement who prophesied about Trump's coming had me in Awe at 1st. But now I look back and notice some slight red flags about Kim Clement as well. The way he would mostly wear all black. How dark and satanic his stage would look, the staff he would often carry in his hands. Not saying Kim Clement was a bad guy or an evil prophet. I'm not even denying his faith in the Lord. But if I'm being honest with myself, his image and his set did give satanic vibes. I'm suddenly having flashbacks of news articles I've read in the past about Trump. About how someone on his team apparently told a reporter, that behind closed doors, Trump mocks his Christian supporters and basically view religious people as easy to scam and is basically just using and fooling the churches to get ahead. I ignored these claims at 1st because of the media's constant lies, but now I think back on this and wonder if we should have paid closer attention to such reports. Also, it's not just Americans worshiping Trump. There have been people marching in other countries in support of Trump, world wide, people who have nothing to do with America are practically worshiping him. I've never seen this before and it's scary. I truly hope everyone who says this isn't revelation 13 are right. Cause so far, I've been a little bit weirded out.

I commented this in a reply, but I thought it might be helpful in its own thread. (Someone was arguing that the antichrist couldn't be Trump because he only has one physical head. They argued that "one of his heads" means a literal being with multiple heads.) While it could mean this, there is another possible explanation:
While I don't think Trump is the antichrist at the moment, “One of his heads” could be symbolic, as Jesus and the bible often speak in metaphors. An example of this is John 6:35 in which Jesus says he is the “bread of life.” Obviously, jesus is not a loaf of bread, but Jesus is using this metaphor to describe how he will fulfill our needs.
The antichrist will more than likely not have multiple visible heads, as it would be too easy to recognize them, and would not align with the description of a “wolf in sheep’s clothing.” The individual will try to blend in and appear innocent, and thus will not likely bear multiple visible heads.
Remember that the word “head” has multiple definitions. It can be used to describe the end of an object or even an authoritative figure. With this in mind, the scripture could be describing an event in which a subservient leader (such as a vice president or secretary) that works under or serves the antichrist could be fatally wounded. This individual would then appear to be rescued from death by the powers of the antichrist, thus making the antichrist seem all powerful and causing many to idolize them.
HOWEVER, it is important to note that I do not speak the language that the bible was originally written in. Therefore, I am not certain that their word for “head” has multiple meanings similar to ours. If it doesn’t, disregard this theory that i proposed- UNLESS of course, one relates this to how God meets our needs like discussed in Philippians 4:19 Or James 1:5-8. Humans did not need the differing meanings for the word “head” to understand the metaphor Jesus was describing yet, as the end of times was still a ways away. However, as we draw nearer to the end of times, we will then need these different meanings to be able to spot the antichrist when they arise. Jesus foresaw that the bible would eventually be translated and more popularized in the English language. So while the Hebrew or Aramaic word for “head” might not have had the multiple meanings that the English word, “head,” carries today, Jesus knew that it one day would mean differing things, such as the aforementioned describing of an authoritative figure.
Lastly, this thought could be further developed. As time goes on and languages continue to change and develop, the word, “head,” will likely garner even more meanings and applications. I think that it could one day be used to describe vital organs, such as the heart, lungs, brain etc. Each vital organ Governs a function of the body that is KEY to life. Because of the necessity these organs play in an individual’s body, there very well may be a time in which an individual’s “heads” will be referring to their vital organs. With this in mind, the “fatal wounding” of one of the antichrist’s “heads” could just be describing a shot through the heart (and you’re to blame), getting impaled in the brain, etc. I guess we’ll find out when it happens, as Jesus will give us the answer when we need it. Hopefully this comment and assumption of mine does not coin this new meaning, as I might have accidentally sped up the timeframe of the end of times lol.
If anyone is proficient at one of the original biblical languages, does their word for “head” (or "mark," for that matter) have any alternate meanings that could further develop this idea? Thanks.

The rapture takes place at the 2nd Coming, but Rev 13 is unlikely talking about a head wound of an individual. It’s more likely to be talking about a fallen empire reviving, such as the Islamic Caliphate, since we’re later told the heads of the dragon represent empires: 5 that were, 1 that “is”, and 1 that will be….the one that “is” when Revelation was written was Rome. The next major empire that swallowed the Middle East, Northern Africa and Southeastern Europe was Islam.
There's actually no such thing as "the Rapture" in Scripture. There is the final Resurrection of the Dead when Jesus returns in Judgment, which is what Paul is talking about in 1Thess 4. The praise and adoration at the RNC last night was disturbing, especially the claim that DJT was the only one that could help us. I say this as a Christian who normally votes Republican.
BTW, I'm not saying this implying Trump is the lawless one who will come. IMO he doesn't match the description of such. For example, if I told you that "I think Donald Trump is a putrid piece of garbage and I think his supporters should be put down like the worthless dogs that they are," (I'm using this as a hypothetical, I am not saying this is what I believe, but I have run across people who have either explicitly or implicitly think this), then you would conclude that I am an idolater. Because I am allowing the false devil (in this hypothetical, Trump) to alter who his followers and supporters are- they are no longer human beings made in the image of God, but now they are animals.
I'm not talking about hatred for sin. You are absolutely correct, that is not idolatry. But if I despise someone or something so much that it causes me to disavow reality, then it has become an idol just as much as loving someone or something too much.
