One thing you’re going to find is that Nightwish is remarkably versatile. I don’t think they have 2 songs that sound alike, and yet they all sound like Nightwish. They do pretty much everything musically and do it extremely well. :)

This Wacken 13 show is outstanding. Start with Dark Chest of Wonders and finish with Last Ride is the day. Storytime is fun, always puts a smile on my face. Nightwish can get a lot heavier, romanticide or Song of myself for example. Tickets go on sale for the NY show in September this Friday.

Every song is different, yet...they're all Nightwish. If you liked this, and we all know how you loved Floor at Beste Zangers, I'd say it may be difficult for you to find a NW song you don't like. You already heard Tim Akkerman do Nemo. I figured that would be one of the first ones you checked out from NW to see how it compares to Tim's version. You'll get to it, I'm sure.🤘👍
About being in her element on stage, Jan Smit, the host of Beste Zangers asked Floor early on in the show whether she preferred being on stage in a stadium or in a smaller/more intimate venue (like on Beste Zangers) she hesitated for just a second before beaming with a huge smile that she preferred the stadium stage.
Knew you'd love this song. It's my all time favourite nightwish one, literally everyone is perfect in this the drums are unbelievably good, Marcos bass is badass, tuommas keyboards and samples /orchestrations are amazing, lovely crunchy guitar from little emppu. It goes without saying that floor is on fucking fire here and her stage presence is so good, show me one other singer who has anything remotely the same level of performance as floor - non...this might be your new favourite but not for long once you hear ghost love score I guarantee it!!!! 😁
If you decide to react to the official video, I recommend waiting until you start getting ready for The Poet and The Pendulum. It's good to do a bit of Tarja before that too, so you can see why a lot of the drama went down, but as I always say, after your more popular requests. We've got to get you through Ghost Love Score and some with Troy live. 7 days to the wolves, the Islander, ( you get to hear Marco lead that one. ) My Walden, and I Want My tears Back to name a few. With Floor I always prefer the live version. She is so good live. Totally in her element. Flawless. And so is the rest of the band btw. The album version of this song is with another singer, called Annette. She wasn't that fantastic. Nothing compared to Tarja and Floor if you ask me. Floor brought this song to life imo.
Yeah, agreed. They are one of the best live bands. One I could compare it to is Rage, but they are just so skilled that the studio recording doesn't differ. Nightwish puts all that energy and, you know, happiness on stage! You're getting a fantastic show, not just a song.
The thing with Floor is this... (to my opinion): with any other singer you are glad they perform well every now and then at a live gig or concert. With Floor, you are glad she messes up a little... sometimes, just to remind us she is a human being too.
Possibly my favorite Nightwish song. The energy, the vocal lines, the double Floorgasms. Please always stay with the live versions, especially with Floor.
@@fnglert Afaik Sagan was never played live by Nightwish or at least I can't find it on youtube. It's not even in the official Nightwish channel and on Spotify there is only the instrumental version without Floor singing. So the various uploads by youtubers are really the only source of "Sagan" right now and that's really a shame for such a great song.

This song was actually written for their previous singer, so it's not a great representation of who Floor is musically. The closest NW has gotten to that was Yours is an Empty Hope, for that one I'd suggest the cruise version. It's got great energy. The Wembley is pretty good, too, but I love the cruise version.

Yes! Back to Wacken 2013 for the heavier stuff! Dark Chest of Wonders opened the show, psychs up the audience & sets the stage for what’s to come. Floor’s stage presence is hypnotic. Then you should do Ghost River & Song of Myself. They’re all 🔥 of course. The band is always perfect & Marco makes more vocal appearances & is really the 2nd lead singer in the band.
I'd suggest more songs from the 2013 Wacken show first. Like Ghost Love Score, Ever Dream, Romanticide. Then maybe watch the music video for Nemo from when Tarja was still there, just to see if you might like her too. If so try Phantom of the Opera from end of an era video. ...Then maybe Poet and the Pendulum from Wembley in 2015 ..try to read about the background of that song first and be ready for real emotional impact seeing the performance. Then Greatest Show on Earth from Tampere in 2015. But wait there's more. I Want My Tears Back, Deep Silent Complete, Gethsemene, Dead Boy's Poem, and Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean.. all from the Buenos Aires show in 2018. Finally, the new song that just came out. Sorry if your head is hurting now. But all that would be a good intro to this band. 😊
