See, that Emppu (the guitarist), who's always cheerful and joking in their gigs, was very serious there because of the sad content of the song. She is one of the best singers in the world fronting one of the best bands in the world. Tuomas the keyboard player is the musical genius behind the band and he's on another level from the rest of us musical mortals. A Nightwish show is an experience not a show, the energy that bounces between the audience and the band is amazing. It's part theatre, part rock/metal concert, part light and pyro show and all Nightwish. Now you are 'doing' Nightwish you're in for a hell of a ride... Buckle up! This is one of the lighter Nightwish songs and it's a wonderful song.
You know, the REALLY beautiful thing here, at least for some of us that like this band and this music is knowing what is in store for you in the future, and how cool reliving it with you will be. As a musician, I can tell you, your description of energy exchange in a performance between the artists & the audience is real. In fact, that exchange is siesta occurring between all people. But that atmosphere seems to heighten the exchange. 🕉🙏🏻❤️
Floor in her natural environment! Her brothers as she calls them have provided her the time of her life for the last 8 years. This is Nightwish till the end now and they all look so happy on stage together. Enjoy the journey but don't neglect the other singers they are an important part of Nightwish and why these songs exist as Tuomas wrote very much for the lead singer and how she sung best. Floor has just enabled the world to see all these songs sung live again.

The band comes from Finland, one of the nordic countries of Europe (And as you already new, Floor comes from Netherlands). Nightwish has been around from late 90's and they have had 2 other female singers (Tarja & Anette), Floor joined the band in 2012. 🥰 To a beginner I recommend anything from Live at Wacken 2013 (with Floor as their singer). I think you would like "Song of myself", "Everdream" or "Storytime". They also have some heavier stuff...🤗

You need to listen to Nightwish live, don't get me wrong they are good in the studio, but its live they really shine, normally we say there are 3 legendary concerts with them Wachen 2013(Wachen is Europes biggest metal festiva), Tampere 2015 & Wembley Arena 2015. Some might add Bueno Aires 2018 (may be the 4th). They are other good concerts but you really can't go wrong with any song from any of those concerts. Believe me your mind will be blown, and when you think you have Nightwish figured out, they'll surprise you again and again. I know a lot of people will suggest The Poet and the Penduleum but wait with it, it will be so much better the more you have hear and know about Nightwish.

I love that you chose Dead Boy’s Poem as a first Nightwish song. This song is one of my favourite NW songs ever. It’s so beautiful. People usually choose Ghost Love Score at Wacken 2013. Granted, it’s the song that made me fall in love with her and the band all over again. I highly recommend it.

Before "Beste zangers", only metalfans or better said, Nightwish- and After Forever fans knew Floor in her and my homecountry the Netherlands. This type of music is hardly played on Dutch radio. Now the whole country knows Floor! Just today, Floor announced that she will appear with her solo show on the oldest, most famous (and now 2nd biggest) popfestival in the Netherlands, Pinkpop on the 20. June this year. She has been on that festival twice before in 2002 and 2004 with her former band After Forever. I'm so glad you like her seeing in her (Finnish) band Nightwish too. This is a lovely song again. The music is called symphonic metal and is very populair in Europe and South America. The band is from Finland and founded in 1996. So far the band has had 3 vocalists 1 Tarja Turunen (Finish) pure opera voice also very good live. (until 2005) 2 Anette Olzon (Swedish) more pop style. fine in the studio but not good live. (until 2012) 3 Floor Jansen* (Dutch) (current). * She is the vocalist you saw in this clip. She has a classical vocal background education and can sing any style she likes from jazz to opera high to growling low. Believe me when i tell you you have not even scratched the surface yet of what she's capable of. Band members Tuomas Holopainen (The keyboard player and creative mind behind the band. He writes about 95% of the music and lyrics) Marco Hietela (the viking with the long beard (Bass and vocals) Kai Hahto (The drummer) Erno "Emppu" Vuorinen (the hobbit like guitar player) Troy Donockley (a multi instrumentalist from the UK) Floor jointed the band right in the middle of their US leg (2012) world tour. They asked her to join after tensions between the previous (Anette) vocalist and the rest of the band had rissen so high that they fired her. With close to a year still to go to complete the tour, and their next concert planned 2 day later they, needed a replacement fast. They called Floor because she had toured with them when she was part of the support bands"After Forever" and later "Revamp" on several occasions and they were quiet impressed by her vocals (who would not be?). She only had 2 days, including a flight from the Netherlands to the US, to learn the setlist and only had one rehearsal with the band a couple of hours before her first show and nailed it. Since they were making a documentary about the world-tour a lot of what happened was recorded. This one really shows off the talents of the whole band, including Floors talent as a world-class singer, and Tuomans as a world-class composer able to tell a story in a song. Glad to see you have begun the Nightwish journey! Your honesty, sincerity, and wise-beyond-your-years insightfulness make your channel among the top favorites to watch! You nailed perfectly the problem with our music industry here in the U.S. Most younger people here have grown up being force-fed on nothing but the mostly corporatized crap that gets churned out for us. And the older "boomers" like me are disgusted by said crap and have retreated into listening to nothing but their beloved old "classic rock" from the 60's and 70's thinking that there is no new good music being made. The result is that this majority of Americans are unaware of the genre of symphonic metal. Or, if they are, the word "metal" carries an automatic, prejudicial stigma that turns them off to even trying it. When I see their reactions to actually listening to Nightwish for the first time, I liken their response to the audio equivalent of those people who put on those colorblind glasses for the first time and see color for the first time in their lives. They put them on for a second. In shock they drop them again and look at the black and white and gray shade world they're used to for a few seconds. Then they put them back on and look around quickly with their jaw open. Then they drop them off again and start crying. "Oh my God! Is this how the world looks to you all the time? Oh my God! MY whole life I've never seen this." It's kind of like that with Nightwish. Symphonic metal is not just "different" from other music, it is on a whole different level that people cannot comprehend until they've heard it. Of the three great epics, "Ghost Love Score, Live at Wacken 2013," "The Poet and the Pendulum, Live at Wembley 2015," and "The Greatest Show on Earth, Live at Tampere 2015," GLS is a good one to start with, as it has become the de facto gold standard performance. GSOE is a truly life-changing experience but is best postponed until a good number of other songs have been sampled first. TP&TP is awesome but it is very dark (think Edgar Allan Poe's famous short story, "The Pit and the Pendulum") and is highly recommended by most of us to delay watching it until you have become more familiar with the band members and their backstories and have had the chance to do some background research on the deep meaning of the metaphorical poetry that comprises the lyrics. Otherwise it is very difficult to understand and to appreciate. ...Enjoy your epic journey!! :)
Symphonic metal is kind of today's symphonies. Classical music has developed to this. At least how I see it. Greatt reaction too. Good way to start your journey with symphonic metal, easier to get into when you haven't been exposed to metal that much.
Good introduction to Nightwish! They can go from very soft and beautiful to very heavy. If you want to hear some of their heavier stuff (and see Floor headbang!), check out Song of Myself from Wacken 2013. They performed in front of 82.000 people and it will blow your mind!

NW is a band that shines live, so my first advice, is when you choose a song, make a live performance reaction (except for NOISE because its their brand new single, but its kinda heavy in meaning and sound that advice to leave it for now). Hey! Nightwish has been equally a growth story for Floor. After all, she has had a lot of backgrounds and band productions that once demanded her a lot. She has said in interviews that she has suffered from anxiety and a fear of appearing before joining Nightwish. If you watch the Wacken 2013 recording ... would you believe that? Floor is a great performer and personality. I am happy and proud that she is involved in this band. You talk about energy, what energy ? I wonder. What's the name of the energy related to music being played so well, and songs sang so good? Whatever energy it is, there is something in concerts, something that makes you feel so good. I went to my first Nightwish concert in 2018, I was there in Buenos Aires when this video was recorded. I'm so happy to say that, I WAS THERE and I felt that energy you say. And in this case, in Argentina people has even more energy to deliver to the artists on a stage. If you warch the whole concert you will see Floor talking about it, she said that energy flowed from the audience to her and from them to the audience. They enjoy a lot performing in latin american countries. Well, this was a beautiful reaction and I agree with all you say. Great reaction! This has been one of my favorite Nightwish songs since the album came out many years ago. This is without a doubt the best performance of it that I've ever seen. I can't watch this without crying. Every. Single. Time. Saying that the music is well written is an understatement. Tuomas is the greatest musical composer of the last century and doesn't get anywhere near the amount of credit that his talent deserves. If you want to see an even edgier side of Floor, check out Yours is an Empty Hope from Wembley 2015. She straight up growls during the choruses on that one.

I will say that I've seen lots of Nightwish reactions, and lots of Beste Zangers reactions, and everyone is amazed and impressed with Floor regardless of which they saw first. First of all, hi there. I really like to see that someone from the actual generation appreciates this kind of music. I watched all your videos you did bout Floor and to be honest if I would have to introduce someone to Nightwish that's exactly how I would do it. First show what an amazing voice Floor has with all her different languages and styles and then let them know what she does on a daily base. Unfortunately I think you choose not the best songs from Nightwish to start with but of course that is very objectiv. But you can still improve . Try Ghost Love Score, Everdream, Romanticide, Song from myself or Seven Days to the Wolves and their last song "Noise" and then finally (but not without research) The Poet and the Pendulum...
You started your NW journey from really good song. Old Nightwish song from "Tarja era" updated with Floor and Troy. Emotional compositions by Tuomas + Floor´s voice = killer combination. Tuomas is a soul of this band, his music. For him, these songs are like his children and other band members follow that. Once in interview Floor got a question, can she put her own input to new songs. She answered yes I could, but songs are already so good that I have nothing to add. So, even band is democracy (6 members, all have 1/6 share), still Tuomas is a boss. Founding member (as well is Emppu, guitarist). Nightwish is very special band, a story telling band. Tuomas usually have a story, a real life story or fictional. And then band play that, like in this song, it was like his testament, if I die now - what you should remember from me. Few lines from this song: "If you read this line Remember not the hand that wrote it Remember only the verse" I think it means, don´t remember me, but remember my work what I made for you. So, we are happy that he has made his songs 24 years, 9 albums. This last album we still wait...Apriiiilll!!! In a way, this is kind of superband Tuomas, many times mentioned "our time best composer" (these words were straight from Iron Maiden founding member Steve Harris...) Floor, best female metal vocalist Kai, one of the world best metal drummers just now Marko, really good bassist and second lead singer, even more often doing back harmonies Troy, multi instrumentalist also good singer. - Is there any instrument what he cannot play? Emppu, good guitarist, not always get that respect what he should, plays usually quite simple solo´s in Nightwish, but - he makes that song better in that way, not trying to do too much, what song (story telling) does not need They all play together in a way, that makes that story alive. Like, Tuomas have a vision and then others put life on it on stage. Nobody overplay, no-one is doing it like his /her solo, but they make it together, supporting each other. Sometimes lead vocalist is Marko, then Floor supports him. In this Buenos Aires, once lead vocalist was Troy and then Floor and Marko supports him etc. I really like how they play together, lifting that story up and trying to give everything to that. Everything what their skills can give. And Tuomas knows well what they can do, so he writes songs so, he uses everybody like an instrument for that story, Nightwish members (including those three vocalist voices), London Symphony Orchestra + two choirs from London (adult, children) and result is like this song.

Did you know Floor was almost unknown until recently even in her homeland? Some one that talented under the radar for so long! Anyway, as cliche as it is, next you gotta do Ghost Love Score. It's a must and I think you're ready. Only suggestion - don't pause so much, cuz especially at the end, ppl will freak out if you don't hear it all in one take! And with good reason lol. Welcome to the Nightwish family. I cannot wait until you hear Ghost Love Score at Wacken or Sleeping Sun at Tempere. All three of these songs were written long before Floor joined the band but Floor puts her own special spin on them. Floor also sang as a guest singer with Epicas Sancta Terra. I think you will like that since Epica is also Symphonic Metal.
There you go! This song is one of my favorites. This oldie was originally sung by Tarja, the first singer of Nightwish. I think you'll experience a lot of surprises if you continue to listen to Nightwish songs. They are as versatile as their present front singer is... Keep in mind that Floor is the only Dutch and Troy is from the UK, the other four are Finnish in this Finnish band.
If you love to experience amazing live concerts, you really have to check out some songs from the legendary "Wacken 2013". Doesn't matter which one, they're all perfect. Btw: The only way someone could not appreciate the work of Nightwish, is, this person hasn't heard of them. That doesn't mean, those people would love it (tastes are different), but appreciate the high level they do music.

Great reaction! One of the things I love about nightwish is how a little goes a long way. That guitar solo is stupid simple, but it sounds SO good in the song. Adding anything fancy would have just made it worse
You make a lot of sense when talking about music appreciation. I grew up with Nightwish, as Finnish bands were always popular in my country. And Floor is my fave singer of Nightwish. It's interesting to see people discovering this kind of music now. Either way, I would also suggest watching ''Ghost Love Score'' from Wacken, ''Sleeping Sun'' from Tampere (I just thing it's such a legendary Nightwish song), also ''The Poet and the Pendulum'' from Wembley. yup, you nailed it and I love that about Beste Zangers and symphonic metal. All ages of vocalists are welcome and appreciated and it becomes about the music. You wouldn't believe how many people I tell about the genre or that I'm trying to go into metal, and they say ' I wouldn't have guessed that about you...' I do get it though. Have in mind that Floor is dutch, but this is a Finnish band. The mastermind behind Nightwish is Tuomas (the guy in the keyboards), and most of the music and lyrics in this band are produced by him. Floor is the third lead vocalist for Nightwish, having joined the band back in 2012 (Nightwish have been around for close to 25 years!).

As a musician, I can tell you, your description of energy exchange in a performance between the artists & the audience is real. In fact, that exchange is siesta occurring between all people. But that atmosphere seems to heighten the exchange. 🕉🙏🏻❤️
Floor in her natural environment! Her brothers as she calls them have provided her the time of her life for the last 8 years. This is Nightwish till the end now and they all look so happy on stage together. Enjoy the journey but don't neglect the other singers they are an important part of Nightwish and why these songs exist as Tuomas wrote very much for the lead singer and how she sung best. Floor has just enabled the world to see all these songs sung live again.
Oh you've gone and done it now, your life will never be the same again! It's like you're viewing it backwards as most people knew her as a metal singer since she was a teenager. The band comes from Finland, one of the nordic countries of Europe (And as you already new, Floor comes from Netherlands). Nightwish has been around from late 90's and they have had 2 other female singers (Tarja & Anette), Floor joined the band in 2012. 🥰 To a beginner I recommend anything from Live at Wacken 2013 (with Floor as their singer). I think you would like "Song of myself", "Everdream" or "Storytime". They also have some heavier stuff...🤗

You need to listen to Nightwish live, don't get me wrong they are good in the studio, but its live they really shine, normally we say there are 3 legendary concerts with them Wachen 2013(Wachen is Europes biggest metal festiva), Tampere 2015 & Wembley Arena 2015. Some might add Bueno Aires 2018 (may be the 4th). They are other good concerts but you really can't go wrong with any song from any of those concerts. Believe me your mind will be blown, and when you think you have Nightwish figured out, they'll surprise you again and again.
I know a lot of people will suggest The Poet and the Penduleum but wait with it, it will be so much better the more you have hear and know about Nightwish.

I love that you chose Dead Boy’s Poem as a first Nightwish song. This song is one of my favourite NW songs ever. It’s so beautiful. People usually choose Ghost Love Score at Wacken 2013. Granted, it’s the song that made me fall in love with her and the band all over again. I highly recommend it.

Before "Beste zangers", only metalfans or better said, Nightwish- and After Forever fans knew Floor in her and my homecountry the Netherlands. This type of music is hardly played on Dutch radio. Now the whole country knows Floor!
Just today, Floor announced that she will appear with her solo show on the oldest, most famous (and now 2nd biggest) popfestival in the Netherlands, Pinkpop on the 20. June this year. She has been on that festival twice before in 2002 and 2004 with her former band After Forever.

The music is called symphonic metal and is very populair in Europe and South America. The band is from Finland and founded in 1996. So far the band has had 3 vocalists
1 Tarja Turunen (Finish) pure opera voice also very good live. (until 2005)
2 Anette Olzon (Swedish) more pop style. fine in the studio but not good live. (until 2012)
3 Floor Jansen* (Dutch) (current). * She is the vocalist you saw in this clip. She has a classical vocal background education and can sing any style she likes from jazz to opera high to growling low. Believe me when i tell you you have not even scratched the surface yet of what she's capable of.

Floor jointed the band right in the middle of their US leg (2012) world tour. They asked her to join after tensions between the previous (Anette) vocalist and the rest of the band had rissen so high that they fired her. With close to a year still to go to complete the tour, and their next concert planned 2 day later they, needed a replacement fast. They called Floor because she had toured with them when she was part of the support bands"After Forever" and later "Revamp" on several occasions and they were quiet impressed by her vocals (who would not be?). She only had 2 days, including a flight from the Netherlands to the US, to learn the setlist and only had one rehearsal with the band a couple of hours before her first show and nailed it. Since they were making a documentary about the world-tour a lot of what happened was recorded. Glad to see you have begun the Nightwish journey! Your honesty, sincerity, and wise-beyond-your-years insightfulness make your channel among the top favorites to watch! You nailed perfectly the problem with our music industry here in the U.S. Most younger people here have grown up being force-fed on nothing but the mostly corporatized crap that gets churned out for us. And the older "boomers" like me are disgusted by said crap and have retreated into listening to nothing but their beloved old "classic rock" from the 60's and 70's thinking that there is no new good music being made. The result is that this majority of Americans are unaware of the genre of symphonic metal. Or, if they are, the word "metal" carries an automatic, prejudicial stigma that turns them off to even trying it.
When I see their reactions to actually listening to Nightwish for the first time, I liken their response to the audio equivalent of those people who put on those colorblind glasses for the first time and see color for the first time in their lives. They put them on for a second. In shock they drop them again and look at the black and white and gray shade world they're used to for a few seconds. Then they put them back on and look around quickly with their jaw open. Then they drop them off again and start crying. "Oh my God! Is this how the world looks to you all the time? Oh my God! MY whole life I've never seen this." It's kind of like that with Nightwish. Symphonic metal is not just "different" from other music, it is on a whole different level that people cannot comprehend until they've heard it.
Of the three great epics, "Ghost Love Score, Live at Wacken 2013," "The Poet and the Pendulum, Live at Wembley 2015," and "The Greatest Show on Earth, Live at Tampere 2015," GLS is a good one to start with, as it has become the de facto gold standard performance. GSOE is a truly life-changing experience but is best postponed until a good number of other songs have been sampled first. TP&TP is awesome but it is very dark (think Edgar Allan Poe's famous short story, "The Pit and the Pendulum") and is highly recommended by most of us to delay watching it until you have become more familiar with the band members and their backstories and have had the chance to do some background research on the deep meaning of the metaphorical poetry that comprises the lyrics. Otherwise it is very difficult to understand and to appreciate. ...Enjoy your epic journey!! :)
Symphonic metal is kind of today's symphonies. Classical music has developed to this. At least how I see it.

NW is a band that shines live, so my first advice, is when you choose a song, make a live performance reaction (except for NOISE because its their brand new single, but its kinda heavy in meaning and sound that advice to leave it for now). Dear Chelly, it is my duty and my privilege to give you the history of the band, on your first actual Nightwish experience. Here are some info that may help you navigate (a short history of the band, concentrated by Ann Waychoff, one of the biggest Nightwish fan):
" Nightwish was started in 1996.They are considered a female fronted symphonic metal band. They are from Finland.
Tuomas Holopainen, the keyboard player, composes and writes the lyrics for 95% of their music. Marco Hietala is the Bassist and vocals .And there is the guitarist Emppu Vuorinen . Then there is Troy Donockley from UK who is a multi-instrulmentalist and vocals. Jukka Nevalainen is the drummer. In 2015 due to Jukka's health issues Kai Hahto became the drummer and as of now is a permanent addition.
Nightwish has had three singers. 1st one was Tarja Turunen (Operatic vocals). She was with them until 2005. The 2nd one was Anette Olzon from Sweden (Poppy, strong vocals). She was with them until 2012.The 3rd and current singer is Floor Jansen, from Netherlands (power, operatic, soprano.....most versatile) - you just heard her.
There are live concerts that you should use depending on what era. From Wishes to Eternity and End of an Era (Tarja), Montreux Festival live 2012 and Exit Festival (Anette), Live at Wacken 2013, Live at Wembley, Live at Tampere, Vehicle of Spirit, Decades live (Floor). I hope this helps.

You talk about energy, what energy ? I wonder. What's the name of the energy related to music being played so well, and songs sang so good? Whatever energy it is, there is something in concerts, something that makes you feel so good. I went to my first Nightwish concert in 2018, I was there in Buenos Aires when this video was recorded. I'm so happy to say that, I WAS THERE and I felt that energy you say. And in this case, in Argentina people has even more energy to deliver to the artists on a stage. If you warch the whole concert you will see Floor talking about it, she said that energy flowed from the audience to her and from them to the audience. They enjoy a lot performing in latin american countries.

Great reaction! This has been one of my favorite Nightwish songs since the album came out many years ago. This is without a doubt the best performance of it that I've ever seen. I can't watch this without crying. Every. Single. Time. Saying that the music is well written is an understatement. Tuomas is the greatest musical composer of the last century and doesn't get anywhere near the amount of credit that his talent deserves. If you want to see an even edgier side of Floor, check out Yours is an Empty Hope from Wembley 2015. She straight up growls during the choruses on that one.
So much I'd like to say based on your comments, but I won't bore you with all that. Suffice to say I'm impressed with your incite given this is the first Nightwish you've seen. I will say that I've seen lots of Nightwish reactions, and lots of Beste Zangers reactions, and everyone is amazed and impressed with Floor regardless of which they saw first.

Floor is Dutch but in a Finland band Nightwish...most of the people in the Netherlands did not know her before de beste zangers show and then we find out that she was the best selling Dutch artist but not on our Radio heard ...So we all are on a beautiful journey because of her and the band Nightwish and their fans are beautiful to see
First of all, hi there. I really like to see that someone from the actual generation appreciates this kind of music. I watched all your videos you did bout Floor and to be honest if I would have to introduce someone to Nightwish that's exactly how I would do it. First show what an amazing voice Floor has with all her different languages and styles and then let them know what she does on a daily base. Unfortunately I think you choose not the best songs from Nightwish to start with but of course that is very objectiv. But you can still improve . Try Ghost Love Score, Everdream, Romanticide, Song from myself or Seven Days to the Wolves and their last song "Noise" and then finally (but not without research) The Poet and the Pendulum...
You started your NW journey from really good song. Old Nightwish song from "Tarja era" updated with Floor and Troy.
Emotional compositions by Tuomas + Floor´s voice = killer combination.
Tuomas is a soul of this band, his music. For him, these songs are like his children and other band members follow that. Once in interview Floor got a question, can she put her own input to new songs. She answered yes I could, but songs are already so good that I have nothing to add. So, even band is democracy (6 members, all have 1/6 share), still Tuomas is a boss. Founding member (as well is Emppu, guitarist).
Nightwish is very special band, a story telling band. Tuomas usually have a story, a real life story or fictional. And then band play that, like in this song, it was like his testament, if I die now - what you should remember from me. Few lines from this song:

Remember not the hand that wrote it
Remember only the verse"
I think it means, don´t remember me, but remember my work what I made for you. So, we are happy that he has made his songs 24 years, 9 albums. This last album we still wait...Apriiiilll!!!

Emppu, good guitarist, not always get that respect what he should, plays usually quite simple solo´s in Nightwish, but - he makes that song better in that way, not trying to do too much, what song (story telling) does not need
They all play together in a way, that makes that story alive. Like, Tuomas have a vision and then others put life on it on stage. Nobody overplay, no-one is doing it like his /her solo, but they make it together, supporting each other. Sometimes lead vocalist is Marko, then Floor supports him. In this Buenos Aires, once lead vocalist was Troy and then Floor and Marko supports him etc. I really like how they play together, lifting that story up and trying to give everything to that. Everything what their skills can give. And Tuomas knows well what they can do, so he writes songs so, he uses everybody like an instrument for that story, Nightwish members (including those three vocalist voices), London Symphony Orchestra + two choirs from London (adult, children) and result is like this song.

You hit it on the head with America not appreciating art as much. The less commercial (and as a result, more honest and inspired) something is, the more likely most will never have heard it. America is lazy and biased and it's a shame musicians aren't held in esteem according to their talents and efforts. But even tho the US is bad, they arent alone. Did you know Floor was almost unknown until recently even in her homeland? Some one that talented under the radar for so long!
Anyway, as cliche as it is, next you gotta do Ghost Love Score. It's a must and I think you're ready. Only suggestion - don't pause so much, cuz especially at the end, ppl will freak out if you don't hear it all in one take! And with good reason lol. Hope you enjoy the Nightwish ride.

Welcome to the Nightwish family. I cannot wait until you hear Ghost Love Score at Wacken or Sleeping Sun at Tempere. All three of these songs were written long before Floor joined the band but Floor puts her own special spin on them. Floor also sang as a guest singer with Epicas Sancta Terra. I think you will like that since Epica is also Symphonic Metal.
There you go! This song is one of my favorites. This oldie was originally sung by Tarja, the first singer of Nightwish. I think you'll experience a lot of surprises if you continue to listen to Nightwish songs. They are as versatile as their present front singer is... Keep in mind that Floor is the only Dutch and Troy is from the UK, the other four are Finnish in this Finnish band.
If you love to experience amazing live concerts, you really have to check out some songs from the legendary "Wacken 2013". Doesn't matter which one, they're all perfect.
Btw: The only way someone could not appreciate the work of Nightwish, is, this person hasn't heard of them. That doesn't mean, those people would love it (tastes are different), but appreciate the high level they do music.

Great reaction! One of the things I love about nightwish is how a little goes a long way. That guitar solo is stupid simple, but it sounds SO good in the song. Adding anything fancy would have just made it worse
You make a lot of sense when talking about music appreciation. I grew up with Nightwish, as Finnish bands were always popular in my country. And Floor is my fave singer of Nightwish. It's interesting to see people discovering this kind of music now. Either way, I would also suggest watching ''Ghost Love Score'' from Wacken, ''Sleeping Sun'' from Tampere (I just thing it's such a legendary Nightwish song), also ''The Poet and the Pendulum'' from Wembley. I agree with you...many talented pop stars but their songs are generally like eating some cotton candy, while Nightwish is like a 7 course meal.

yup, you nailed it and I love that about Beste Zangers and symphonic metal. All ages of vocalists are welcome and appreciated and it becomes about the music. You wouldn't believe how many people I tell about the genre or that I'm trying to go into metal, and they say ' I wouldn't have guessed that about you...' I do get it though. I look pretty unassuming and unless you hear me sing you would never guess metal from my speaking voice. hehe
