I have a similar stove that I use in the US. I really enjoy it instead of a campfire. It directs the smoke up and away, it’s always ready for a kettle, pot, or pan, and it uses the wood way more efficiently. I sewed a chimney flap in my pop up canopy, add a couple sides to get out of chilly winds, and have a general area of warmth. Bonus - in a wooded area, I can usually round up some fallen dried sticks in a few minutes to cook a hot meal. Dry wood makes all the difference.
Sounds like a good set up! We definitely like the Danchel - just the right size, and great for those camping trips, especially where there's no fire pit :)
I think we bought it from the MEC but you can buy from Amazon. This is the one we used in this particular video. www.amazon.ca/GSI-Outdoors-Glacier-Stainless-Ketalist/dp/B08ZVJR5ST

If you close both the chimney flu and the front vent while the fire is going, does smoke leak out of the cracks in the stove?
No. The flu doesn't seel completely. It still allows some airflow to allow the smoke to go out of the chimney.
