Absolutely agree with you on the fox hunting comments you made Mike. Always preferred the walked-up way of shooting too, and not killing hundreds of birds.
I bought one this past spring. I have used it in storms, high winds, and very warm weather. No leaks, very little condensation so far, and with the side vents and doors open, a nice breeze can come through. It is my favorite tent now.
I agree, except i think if you shoot a fox, it's also pretty nasty and cruel as the foxes cubs are going to starve to death. Sad that some hunters seem to have the opinion of, out of sight, out of mind.
@paulemajer5634 So did I also, it's a pretty sad, pathetic, and crawl way to get your kicks in my opinion, see a pack of hungry dogs ripping the life out of a fox!
Hunting for sport is for coward and sick people. Put some gloves on and get in a cage or ring and get your kicks that way not by abusing animals. Culling is a different story but for some rich snobs to get all dressed up and torture innocent animals is beyond disgusting.
I've not seen any of your videos for a couple of years, had some of life's bad jokes and just about getting myself back to the old me,, thank god you and your Dad are still at it...👍👍👍👍👍👍
Love both you and your dad's channel Mike. Well said regarding the fox hunting with hounds. Totally agree there are much better ways to manage things of needed. All the best 👍
Love this tent, better than these modern ones they make these days.. Jack's being his cute self crawling under the covers.. my kitty did this all the time ..take care and be safe out there 🐕❤
23:45 reminds me of our Spud, a long haired Jack, when all three of us were living at home he would spend the night bed hopping, you'd hear him jump down on the floor boards, then he'd take a couple of bounces (practice jumps ) then on the bed and under the duvet😮😂 it was great when it was really cold but would over heat us when it was warmer, he'd tunnel to the bottom and cook our feet until he got too hot then go and find a cooler bed to warmer up 😅
I bought this tent after seeing you camp in it the first time. I have taken it camping and the first time I went it rained heavily and the wind was very strong. It did very well. No leaks etc. I have taken it out two more time since then and it did very well.
Mike dont leave the pipe in. you will be left with a serious puddle of water inside. trust me i speake from making that very mistake. You will be amazed how much rain will trickle down over a few days and the added risk of a windy day that may bend and breake the pipe or even dammage the tent, best for the sake of a few miniuts to take it down and leave it inside the tent already rolled even if you like. All the best.
I had a dog that was part Jack Russel and she would always go under the covers and curl up either right behind my legs or against my stomach (or same with my wife). It sometimes made it hard to sleep, but i cannot express how much i miss it.
Hi mate, first of all I just love your content and just binged watched the Saxon House series just great the way you spend that much quality time with your dad. Regarding the wood stove and the baffle at the flue, it is supposed to prevent sparks from being expelled from the chimney as in some places these stoves are used for cocking even in the summer months were the risk of wild fires is quite real, with the added bonus that it actually increases the efficiency of the fuel burn as well, so says the internet but as with everything I may just be wrong, but it makes sense to me.
nice idea to leave the tent up to do more videos,i agree with you about the fox hunt its a sin,and its also barbaric to starve the dogs so they will rip apart the foxes
I wish I was in my 30s again instead of my 60s. I would become a proper Hobo. I do live on a narrowboat, so I do have a certain amount of freedom. I would love to spend more time in the Woods though. These videos are the next best thing . Keep em coming. 👍
You could get a bit of fire blanket and cut a round hole the size of the chimney, thread it on before you put the rings on, this would be a tighter seal for the chimney port.
So he can do the normal dog thing when they're used to sleeping with you. Totally ignore his own space and bag and crawl in with you. Getting my dogs to sleep anywhere but on our bed was a nightmare no matter how nice we made their bed.
Great job Mike, I noticed that you had to strip down and rebuild the stove, when you first assembled it the side window would have been facing the side of the tent😉 I’ve never personally assembled one of those stove flues but have seen others doing it and they just unroll it and then re roll it length wise adding the rings to secure it mate
Great video I detest the hunt, it's barbaric Nice to know you don't allow them on your land even though I doubt they actually listen and stay off Looking forward to your next video
I would look into an accessory to secure the stovepipe (I have seen some that attach to the top of the pipe with lines and maybe add a spark arrestor to the pipe). It might be an idea to remove the stovepipe and close the flap when you are away for multiple days. I did enjoy this camping video. Thank you
Some mulled wine would go nicely with that stew… although that would mean another pan. Nice relaxed camping… I should try that someday and really enjoy camping. Thanks for the video, makes for a great watch.
I bought this tent earlier this year for this Winter’s camping season, and got the Winnerwell small stove (small one) to dress it out. Absolutely love this tent and the stove is top notch. Winnerwell is the king of stoves as far as I’m concerned. My grown sons can fight over it when God calls me home. Hahahaha. What a great video, Mike, and I love seeing Jaxx in for the adventure. Take care and stay well and safe. :)
hi , all said but not a single word about security , you may consider instal a CO detector alarm for your own sake , consider also a heat fan to spread heat all over the tent , it saves wood . the pipe should be instaled from inside to exterior , prevents rain drops , and you forgot to instal the spark chaser on the pipe , it prevents undesired forest fires , stay safe
Awesome video Mike as always, top tip for a banging stew add the fatty outsides of corned beef, let it melt in, it thickens the stew and salts it up also gravy granules, not enough to make gravy but just enough. Could go the extra mile and pick some wild bilberry, they ripen at the start of stew season chuck them in and let the break down, absolute treat.
Definitely do some multi day bushcraft and hunting, keeping that beautiful tent up for a bit, it’s an ideal setup for some winter activities in the forest and I know we would all love to see some of those trips if you decide to film them!
Love the tent and stove Mike. I can see my Christmas list expanding by the second! Really looking forward to some more bushcraft and hunting videos with this set up 👍
With the weather getting cooler it might be a good idea to have a little cot in there and a lantern. Nice setup love your little snuggle bug he can heat you up to keep you warm
I'm anti horse/hound fox hunting, too. I've no problem with a quick, clean kill, but not what happens on these hunts. It drives me nuts when you roll the tent flaps outwards instead of inwards, as they should be done! Another good video. Looking forward to some more bushcraft stuff.
Re: the stew…. you had plenty of suggestions I see, but after years of trying this that and the other, I finally learned that a handful of orzo ‘rice’ (actually a pasta) thrown in the stew (whilst cooking) thickens things up nicely. Easy to carry a small portion. Give it a whirl!
Just a heads up incase you didn't know. Even though you gave Jacks the beef separate, because it was cooked with the onions it may cause stomach upset, vomiting or he could get the runns. And other stomach problems. Because onions are toxic too dogs, so is garlic, & any of the onion family.
Good man for pointing it out! 👍 I was looking for this comment, but since you already pointed out that it's toxic to dogs I will add that it's also toxic for cats, but much worse for dogs!
Spot on ! Jjst commented this Worked as a vet tech seasonally all over USA and this is very common People think they are being nice by giving the dogs a “treat” really it’s just being careless and not doing homework on what’s is acceptable and what’s not Often people with big dogs think it’s ok too as their bigger Sure they can take more to be poisoned but it’s still toxic For this wee fella That’s far too risky
While holding a breadstick: "wish I brought some flour to thicken it up" My guy, tear the bread up and chuck it in. It's like the OG medieval way to thicken stew
Hi Mike. The Chalet 70 Pro is my favorite tent. It holds up as well as my F2, but is about a foot wider, a foot longer and at least a foot taller. Plus it has a stove jack. Have fun and stay safe. P.S. I agree with you about the fox hunting.
Mike next time you can use a hunk of the inside of the bread to thicken the stew. Just take a hunk and break it up into tiny tiny pieces and cook. It will thicken. Looks great mate. Nice little setup!
Standard jack russell move 😂 straight under the covers 🐶
Not daft JR'S 😂
True that. I've had several JRs and they love burying in. What they're bread for hey.
The goodest of boys
Nice stove and tent Mike, I agree with you on the hounds:)
Whislux titanium stove only £190!!! This is the perfect one for everyone!
Thanks! Really enjoy the content. Stay wild, have a great weekend.
Thank you so much for the kind support!
Absolutely agree with you on the fox hunting comments you made Mike. Always preferred the walked-up way of shooting too, and not killing hundreds of birds.
And now I have another tent on my wish list, thanks! 😄😄😄
Exactely!
How many you got ?
Dont be shy now
Right!? It’s really nice!
I bought one this past spring. I have used it in storms, high winds, and very warm weather. No leaks, very little condensation so far, and with the side vents and doors open, a nice breeze can come through. It is my favorite tent now.
@@Theorangeman. Only 3 with this one, but they never seem to leave the list until bought 😁
I am totally on board with you with the fox hunting situation
I agree, except i think if you shoot a fox, it's also pretty nasty and cruel as the foxes cubs are going to starve to death. Sad that some hunters seem to have the opinion of, out of sight, out of mind.
🙄🙄🙄🙄
I thought fox hunting was banned/illegal now
@paulemajer5634 So did I also, it's a pretty sad, pathetic, and crawl way to get your kicks in my opinion, see a pack of hungry dogs ripping the life out of a fox!

Nothing like a good hot tent camp! Loving these cosy autumn camps. Keep it up
What a nice tent, looks super cozy
Love both you and your dad's channel Mike. Well said regarding the fox hunting with hounds. Totally agree there are much better ways to manage things of needed. All the best 👍
That is a cozy set up
Yes, absolutely leave that up for a few weeks
What a great fort
Love this tent, better than these modern ones they make these days.. Jack's being his cute self crawling under the covers.. my kitty did this all the time ..take care and be safe out there 🐕❤
I love both the tent n the titanium wood stove ! Can’t wait to see your next one Good luck Mike n Jax

Tear some bread into bits to thicken your stew. Love the stove!
Gravy granules❤
I agree with your views on fox hunting. Just to clarify, it's illegal in Scotland. Love your woodland ànd all your projects.
I bought this tent after seeing you camp in it the first time. I have taken it camping and the first time I went it rained heavily and the wind was very strong. It did very well. No leaks etc. I have taken it out two more time since then and it did very well.
you and your dad are the bom keep it up
Life should be like that: slow paced and peaceful with appreciation for nature. Love it brother!

Very enjoyable to watch. Relaxes me
I agree on the hounds mate and cannot wait to see busshcraft/ hunting camp once it’s all set up
the crust of your bread will thicken the stew if had thrown some into as it was cooking. A tip from the 18th century. ;)
Brill watch mate Totally agree with you on the fox hunting bit, looks a mint set up you got their too
True heaven on earth moment. Camping, good food and drink and your dog. 👏 Bravo, sir👍
Looking forward to seeing more of these adventures.
Jacks is a cutie pie-love him!!
Class seeing the dog's tail wagging away when he first went into the tent. Great camp and great vid 👍
Very impressed than everything gone in the backoack and just two other "bags", compact and very comfy!
Just got my first hot tent and the smaller Pomoly.
Getting it all set over the next few days.
❤❤❤ deep respect for your channel mate ❤ and more❤love from Australia.Clay keep going 👍 your doing us proud globally. ...
You could get a bit of fire blanket and cut a round hole the size of the chimney, thread it on before you put the rings on, this would be a tighter seal for the chimney port.
Nice night out that Mike.
Great tent.
I’m liking these Tuesday tea time episodes 👌🏻
Thank you, Mike!!❤❤❤
Great tent and stove. So glad Jaxx is with you.
He needs his own little sleepingbag.. ❤👍

@kingjpeg Sick perverts get their kicks seeing a fox being ripped apart by a pack of hungry dogs, in my opinion.
Really enjoy the camping videos Mike! What a great part about owning your own land, “base camp”
I would look into an accessory to secure the stovepipe (I have seen some that attach to the top of the pipe with lines and maybe add a spark arrestor to the pipe). It might be an idea to remove the stovepipe and close the flap when you are away for multiple days.

I have camped when it was well below freezing. I have never had a stove. I just brought my beagle in the bag with me.
Enjoyed the video. Makes me want to go camping again asap! And totally agree re the fox hunt.
I'd love to see the multi-day stay in the next few weeks.

Very nice Mike. Will have to come back to the video, but thank you for sharing your "away-from-home" time with us.
Thank you Mike and Jack for the therapy video haha !
Thanks for the comment and support!
So I read that as “dog stew” 😂😂😂. 🐕
Lol, you're not alone, totally read that he will be having "Dog & Winter Stew" poor doggy
That's what the Oxford comma is for...
😂 run Jax run!
The winter dog stew is far more hearty than a springtime puppy porridge...
😂 it got me too and I’m the one that wrote it! I’ve corrected it a little now, hope it makes more sense!
@ 😂 or. I could read it properly.
Definitely do some multi day bushcraft and hunting, keeping that beautiful tent up for a bit, it’s an ideal setup for some winter activities in the forest and I know we would all love to see some of those trips if you decide to film them!
Great camp and nice idea to keep the tent up.
I had no idea that the fox hunt was so barbaric, thank you so much for bringing awareness. 👍🏻
That's great, brother, I wish you good health and success❤❤❤❤❤❤
Love the hunting idea , can't wait to see
really looking forward to the hunting and bushcraft vlogs that tent looks nice warm and comfortable of this time of year.
I'll look forward 2 u using that tent again
That looks very cozy and I bet the stew's delicious 😁
All the comforts of home 😊
Well my friend another great video stay safe and God bless love form west Virginia USA ❤️
Love the tent and stove Mike. I can see my Christmas list expanding by the second! Really looking forward to some more bushcraft and hunting videos with this set up 👍

Ah, I feel that this is going to be a super cool set of videos with this set-up. Looks good so far.
Looks like you had some fun. The stove looks pretty neat and seems to work well also.
You could cook a lovely festive feast on that bad boy stove 😁

Nice setup! Looking forward to the next update!
Beautiful camping
I'm not particularly a fan of hot tent videos, but I enjoyed this one. That looked like a pretty nice set up.
Fascinating video, I'm intrigued by hot tents and I would sure like to try that!
That's a beaut of a tent, very nice. Good work 👍
You have good videos with great ideas, I will definitely use your good ideas on my channel♥️🙏🏻
Im geting hungry lookin at ur stew. ❤

Yeah my shihtzu got some of my meat balls and spaghetti once and it was a nightmare, rice broth saved the day.
yes and also if the sausage was pork can have the same effect xxx

Great one Mike! 🍻

My guy, tear the bread up and chuck it in. It's like the OG medieval way to thicken stew
great vid mike
A versatile stove 🎉
I really enjoyed this video and I love the setup and the stove is excellent 😊
In my opinion it's better to have the chimney as far away from the tent as possible stop embers falling on the tent and burning holes
great camera work!
100% on the hounds
The little dog is so cute. He sleeps in your sleeping bag.😅
Nice little Jack.Very cute dog.
Love your camping videos !

me and my 3 brothers just bought my dad a fenix headtorch for his birthday. great brand. hi from little wee NZ!
ジヤクス可愛い😊
Great video Mike, made me laugh when Jacks ploughed into your sleeping bag:)
If you need a thickening ingredient and don't have flour, bread, crumbled up is a good substitute 😅
Nice stove and tent Mike, I agree with you on the hounds:)
