I have a rice cooker with a porridge setting. If I add minced pork near the end of the cooking cycle do you think it will work? Or should I cook the pork separately and add to the congee after it is done cooking?

Thanks Asian Mom cooking, my roommate is sick and there wasn’t any restaurants that had chuk, so I’m using your recipe instead

did you put some cornstarch in the congee also?
No I did not. As you cook it, the starch from the rice will come out which will naturally thicken the congee!
