My husband and I rarely ate out at restaurants. We both agreed that my cooking was better. When we did eat out it was because we were traveling or I was too tired too cook. Working full time and sometimes two jobs and having a homestead and raising children was very exhausting for me.

My husband and kids were away for a week, ate out all the time and came home with a lot of stomach issues and were just worn out. Meanwhile, I stayed home and ate mostly from my garden with no meat or processed foods. I felt energized and got so much accomplished in one week, painting half the house. They were so happy to get some home cooked food with lots of vegetables and healthy foods.

M6 hubby and I do love a good steak and potato or veg but you're 100% right about how expensive it is to go out to eat.
Last week he wanted to go out for steak but while getting groceries they had marked a bunch of new York strip down due to them having too much they were not even close dated. So for just under $12 I got 2 beautiful 1 pound each steaks.
I also bought good brown button mushrooms and Vidalia onions.
Then i hit up the local farm stand for 2 bunches of the best broccoli that was just harvested that morning.
We came home and I made us a beautiful meal.
Grilled NY strip with mushrooms and onions with a lovely steamed broccoli with cheese(I was craving cheesy broccoli) we normally have a potato or even salad but neither of us are super hungry in the heat so it was a wonderful meal.
Hubby likes the math. Steaks $12
      Broccoli $2.50
      Mushrooms $2.60
The onions were .99 cents a pound and I think I used maybe a pound or so
For $18.10 we feasted and I ended up with enough steak for my breakfast too lol
We love burgers but fast food burgers around here are disgusting. Might as well eat a dried up shoe sole.
We got a huge thing of 1/4 pound good burgers for a decent price and I just make them at home now. We received an air fryer for a gift and it actually makes decent French fries so I tell folks
That yes, the pack of burgers was a bit expensive ($17.99 a 12 pack frozen) but are good 80/20 grass fed Angus but thats still less than $2 a patty and you can't buy a 1/4 pounder at any fast food place for that price.
Even adding all the fixings and sides I bet it costs less than $10 for beautiful burgers and fries at home.
Oh and being a michigan gal I of course made a small batch of olive mayo to make mine a mr fabulous burger! Lol.

I don’t have a home grown pineapple but I do have a fresh one I got from our local farmers market!
Gotta make that tater salad also!!!
Only thing different I will change here is my 1-1/4” ribeye will be medium rare and seared over a really hot pecan wood fire !!! 😂👍

Being from a pineapple producing country I can say: If you want to store pineapple in your fridge, you do not twist and remove the leaves, you just trim the top off and leave it very short (you can do this with a knife), then you just slice rounds as needed from the bottom and remove center and rind, what is left you just stand on a plate (top side up), it lasts longer than any other method. AND if you boil the rind in water to make juice, add a handful of rice! You will love it, tastes like peach!

When you make it at home you are guaranteed (after practice of course) to have everything done exactly as you like it (doneness, complexity of seasoning, amount of seasoning, spiciness etc. etc.)
The best restaurant food I have had has usually been from the places that source local and fresh, some of which have their own farms or large gardens to supply ingredients.

Now I’m off to eat a fresh cantaloupe that I’ve grown from seed 😄🍈.

Danny , I watched you video about your hospital trip. I went through the same thing . All tests were fine. I was still really sick for years . I went to main stream doctors but no help. So I decided to try going to a natural Doctor. She did a hair analysis and it came back that I was dangerously low on just about all minerals. The hospital does not test intercellular . They only test what is circulating in the blood. One of the main stream doctors wanted to put me on a pill to lower my stomach acid. Turns out I had low stomach acid so I could not absorb minerals well. If I had taken those acid lowering pills I would be dead now. As people get older stomach acid lowers. You can get alot of heartburn because the valve that keeps acid from comming up needs acid to close the way it should. I am so thankful that I went to a natural Doctor. They FIX problems not just throw pills at symptoms.

Another great use for the pineapple peel is to make pineapple vinegar. The vinegar makes some great salad dressings. Lots of nutrition in the core. Contains a powerful anti-inflammatory, especially great for reducing gout symptoms. I feel like licking the cutting board with all the pineapple juice. 😋😋😋 What a treat to wake up to this vid!!

The Chinese restaurant was the last one we used to eat at, but then I mastered the brown sauce and garlic sauce and my Wok is almost 35 years old and holding on to all the seasoning. The only work in a good stir fry is cutting up the food. I can live just cooking in a Wok if I had to. But I don't have to lol.
I sure would have enjoyed a taste of the Pineapple to be honest.

I’ve started a couple pineapples from the store AND on one it shot off a side shoot to grow. My sister in law had the same thing, a side shoot, grow on hers. Fresh is key!
I have also started the seeds from a pineapple but I can’t bring them past the ‘water’ leafing stage into soil.
The core, raw, has something in it that’s very beneficial to eye health.

I love those plums!!! We have some of those strange melons. Those ingredients for your relish is beautiful. Your kitchen counter tops must be full of fruits and veggies to try. Our okra, squash, and tomatoes are so good. Lots of rain in Southwest Louisiana. Have a super day!

Wow- that pineapple looks awesome! Wish there was "smell-o-vision"- I bet it smells fantastic! Thx for showing us how to propagate as I have been wondering. And for the tip of what to look for as far as the leaves in the top of the plant, to enable it to grow.

Oh my goodness that meal looks delicious! 😋 You definitely can’t get something that good from a restaurant these days. Especially since you know exactly how every part of that meal was raised and prepared.
I never knew how to plant a pineapple top, thanks for sharing your method. I’m going to see if I can grow a couple in pots inside my house since I don’t have a greenhouse.

Good morning Mr Danny and Ms Wanda from watching a previous video I did peel mine but i I stuck it directly right into a pot of soil and it's rooted and it's growing slowly but beautifully in my greenhouse in the last 10 years or more I can't remember the last time I was in a restaurant I prefer to eat at home I know what's in my food I planted over 100 green pepper plants they flowered but still haven't seen any peppers
