Adapt and overcome is my farmer fix motto- and you certainly did! Glad you got it working 🙂

Good move on cord. For ever we have. A 1/4 hp motor only moves 2 bales at a time best thing ever to help move hay

Great job! It’s probably going to give you more work back than you had to put into it.

Well it looks like you got the elevator working fairly good. That bend in the rail may give you some issue if you load it down with multiple bales of hay, but at least you have it going. It sure was a lot of work, but sometimes that's just what a guy has to do. Back in the 70's I did run several elevators, a few were electric and some where PTO driven. It think you have the chain adjusted fairly good, it may need to be tightened a little more, again when it's under stress with several bales it may need to be adjusted. Good luck a thanks for sharing, have a great week.

We have a Case elevator that is the same as the JD The board on the return is kind of important to carry the chain so it doesn’t catch ours is bent same place as yours but ours is bent down from kids bouncing on the end like a diving board. Keep the shows coming

Victory! The chain is bound to loosen up some as the rust wears off. Like someone else said if the chain is too loose it will sort of buckle as it comes off the (lower) drive sprocket under load. Well done!

Bacon grease or vegetable oil on chain track will quite it right down.

Straighten until close, plate it, then get some oil of type on the chain.

I've got a JD 200 bale elevator, it's older than a 33 and it's on a transport. Mine looks like new compared to yours and we use it every year. Good bale elevators are hard to find.

Tight enough that the. Chain will not buckle at the drive end when moving hay.

I have a heavy elevator similar to this, but the drive chain keeps popping off. i’ve adjusted the tension of the conveyor chain. Any recommendations?
