July 2023 update: The former Bath & Body Works is becoming a comic bookstore, smoothie lounge has opened, and a restaurant is opening in the former Friendly's space in the now former Dick's Sporting Goods wing.
There's Westminster Mall in Westminster, MD (maybe 30 min drive from Hanover Mall) that resembles this mall. While none of Westminster has been torn down, it is a ghost town inside. You have a Dicks, Boscovs, and Belk still open and a movie theater inside which I am surprised is still open. The inside is full of sporting goods and comic/toy stores that are only open on the weekends. Everything else is closed down for good. Remember how busy it was a kid but now its just sad to walk thru it.
Yeah they just need redo this whole entire mall yeah I agree with you if Boscovs moved into this is mall it probably wouldn't be dead at all hopefully eventually they will rebuild the old JCPenney store and put something into it great video Jeremy keep up the good work
I've been at this mall before in early to mid 2000's when my aunt and uncle lived in Adams County. I remember it being really busy then. I remember those little animals with batteries as they breathed as they "slept", so cute. I remember the arcade but don't remember the games I played with my cousins. I also don't remember the stores we went into but remember the KB Toys was spelled Kay Bee Toys. I also remember eating at Hoss's ( it wasn't in the mall) on that visit and my mom got mad at my aunt for letting my twin cousins go into the restroom alone and my brother had to go get them out because they could have been taken from us 😢.
It’s sad what the mall has become.. it’s crazy that Jerry and sals is still there it’s been there since I was a kid. Claire’s, bath body works, dicks, books a million all moved to stand alone stores in Hanover. I assume rural king , Burlington and auto zone is what keeps the mall afloat
Sad because even back in the late 90's and early 2000's this place was still doing well. almost no reason to go anywhere near the inside of the mall proper now
The time I lived around here I used to go to the mall all the time when it was fun, I would look at the birds play the claw machine go do Dicks sporting goods get pizza it was awesome I also got my ears pierced here with my mom the good old days 😢
This mall has been dying a slow death for awhile to be honest. Rural King moving into that space was good but even connected to the mall it doesn’t have a mall entrance. To attract shoppers you need good stores and every store you lose makes the mall weaker. It’s a shame. As an 80’s kid I remember these malls being so full of life…
Live right next to it. 😢 man it was no way as bad as the West Manchester Mall. I miss those days of loitering around with groups of friends at a dying mall, always getting into trouble, and having endless fun. Sad it's gone now.
Yo... Those Massage chairs are worth AT LEAST HUNDREDS of Currency notes or Digital currency A POP!! They are HARDLY used and they could sell EACH on the Ebay for HUNDREDS!! WTF?! I HOPE that happens.
Rural King is technically not part of the mall. They own their part of the building which is why it is closed to the rest of the mall along with 10 acres of the lot

Really high rent is a deterrent to businesses operating there.

Yes I know, I explained all that. The mall entrance is closed because they did not have enough security to be there, a mall employee told me that.

Yup this mall is dead, I remember loving the gamestop here but it's now all gone and never coming back
