    Like your Simplicity - I have a 2005 Subaru OutBack Turbo 2.5XT - Some years ago Purchased a Thule InterState RoofTop Soft Cargo Pouch from REI on Sale 20% off one item US$180.00 - With Cargo on the Roof - Can Sleep 1 or 2 People with Ground Pads and Sleeping Bags - Your Full Mattress is a Great Option that could be easily added - Also have Window Shade/Socks US$30.00 - Since my Doors do not Frame my Windows needed Magnets US$5.00 to make the Window Shade/Socks work - This can work with any Wagon/SUV with Rack Roof Rails ...

    I just bought a Wilderness myself and looking to do the same thing with mine. Looking forward to seeing your adventures and ideas!

      That's awesome (and thank you)!! Which wilderness color did you get?? And have you been enjoying it so far?

    You might try a modern camping inflatable pad, they can run $200+ but definitely comfortable and pack down the size of a Nalgene. Can inflate in 30 seconds if you learn the bag method. I love the ThermaRest X-therm.

    Don't know the interior dimensions of a '23 Outback, but I like your minimalist build and will do something similar with my SUV. May use the inflatable mattress I already have.

    Have you added anything for air exchange @talesfromtheoutback? I have been looking for a vent van that would attach to the rear windows but haven't located one.

    Did you put anything under your mattress to level out your sleeping area due to the slope of the floor?

    • @talesfromtheoutback
      @talesfromtheoutback  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Nope; the mattress lays right on the folded down seat. There's actually a slight angle up with the seat folded, and I find it's pretty comfortable considering.
      Though, if you still felt it was a little rough, there's definitely room to lay down an additional support mattress or something.

      He doesn’t put anything under the mattress, but his wife lays comfortable 😂

    You should add the item names and links - say from Amazon that you use. Thanks.

    • @talesfromtheoutback
      @talesfromtheoutback  ปีที่แล้ว

      thanks! I've got some links in the description (i think they should be showing anyway). Were you have some trouble getting them to show? Maybe I can help figure out if it's on your end or maybe I made a mistake

      @@talesfromtheoutback I look again. I have a Forester and I wanted to see if that stuff would work for me.

      @@sbowyer525 let me know if you see any issues with it; if there's still a problem, i'll comment to you with some exact Amazon titles that you can search for (and hopefully that will give us a workaround to solve the problem!)

    How tall are you and what do you think the max height someone could sleep in it?

    • @talesfromtheoutback
      @talesfromtheoutback  ปีที่แล้ว

      I touch on it in my video about sleeping in the Outback if you want to check it out, but the cliff notes is that I'm 6'2" and I can't lay down flat in it with the hatch closed (I sleep on my side with my knees tucked in). My guess is that 6'4" and up would probably need to come up with another sleeping solution because the way I do it, it would be really cramped
