The best things in this episode:
- Stan calls Ford "poindexter" many times. In the episode where he's reading Ford's instructions/warnings about the portal, he mutters "Can it, poindexter". He's still using the nickname, even though he hasn't seen his brother in 30 years
- Ford says to the government agents, "What are you waiting for, a kiss on the cheek?" In S2E01 (Scary-oke), Stan asks Dipper "What else do you want, a kiss on the cheek?"
- Stan doesn't say "high-five" with Ford, he says "high-six". They may have different personalities, but Stan is Ford's best friend, and he wants him to be happy and included
- Stan and Mable have both gotten a hand full of splinters and been excited about it
- In the wax figures episode, Stan freaks out when he sees his figure. He thinks it's Ford
- In the mind-switching rug episode, Stan finds Ford's glasses in the room and promptly hides them
- In Stan's memories, we see a swing set with two swings, one of them broken. We see this same swing set, then whole, at the end of S2E11, with little Stan and Ford on it
- In the second episode, Stan's fishing boat is called the "Stan O' War", named after the boat he had built with Ford
Also, the building next to Stan's Childhood apartment says "Hot Belgian Waffles" which is likely a reference to Stan saying the same thing on the security tapes in the previous episodes.

FunFact: The reason why Ford punched Stan wasn't because it was his fault for trapping his brother in the other dimension but because just as the portal was opening, Ford was in a battle with Bill Cipher and almost able to destroy him with his energy rifle. Hence the punch, Ford was pissed that Stan messed up again.

Fun summer story: got my first summer job when I was 15. Had to clean movie theatres at a multiplex on weekends from 7 to noon. Best things about the job?
1) We learned how to hook up the soda machine.
2) We found a used BBQ grill, great pairs of shades, and one homeless man (nice guy).
And 3) MONEY! It is amazing how much loose change ends up on the floor of a theatre (coins and bills); also, amazing how much money does not get saved by a 15-year-old.

It’s crazy that the last words Stanley ever heard from his father was about him being a disgrace.
Their backstory is so sad, like, imagine what was the father and the family reaction when Stan "died" in the car crash. And the worst part is that since the whole family thought that Stan died, he couldn't visit his family anymore.

JK Simmons is my favorite Actor.
I remember this one summer my sister and I went to see my dad in Gulfport, Mississippi. We did many fun things together. We went fishing, and we went to the USS Battleship State Park in Pascagoula. But my most favorite trip this summer was to Destin, Florida! We drove for 4 hours to see the magnificent white, sandy beaches and the clear blue waters. That afternoon after we got there, we got a hotel and unpacked. As soon as we got done, we rushed straight to the beaches. After a while we went back to our hotel and got changed to go to a place called Fudpuckers. Not only did they have excellent grouper (a bass in the ocean), but they also had a real live alligator show with about 20 alligators! It was by far the best restaurant I have gone to because it was the only one where you got to go feed and watch alligators while you’re eating. After we finished eating, we went back to the hotel to get some sleep. The next morning we went snorkeling. It was really cool at first I was nervous but after a while I liked it. My favorite part of it was when I saw these little blue and green fish swimming with us. After we got tired of it we started swimming. Later my dad and I went snorkeling again and saw a little nurse shark! I ran like my life depended on it because I figured if one shark was here, there should be another one close by. We went back inside to get some rest and eat while my dad went to a meeting. After they came back we went to go eat at a place called Captain Alls and it was right on the water. While we were waiting on a table we saw what I thought was a shark but my dad told me it was just a dolphin. On our last day we went back to the beach and swam for a while until we started getting stung by jelly- fish. My dad told me that all the jellies are coming up because of hurricane Ike is pushing them up. We stayed there for 5 hours getting in every now and then. Then my sister said she’s done swimming and was going to play in the sand. But the funniest thing of all is when a huge wave pushed a jellyfish upon the beach and got her foot. If you thought you’ve seen someone scream and holler so loud at the top of their lungs. Like when in 1998, The Undertaker threw Mankind off Hell In A Cell, and plummeted 16 ft through an announcer's table.

2:39 For my summer experience I went to camp with my family and it was right after I got my drivers license and my very first car. I wanted to show off so badly to my best friend because I was the first in my friend group to start driving, so I invited them. In doing so it was my job to pick them up, and my brother was to accompany me because it was an hour long drive from camp. All throughout the car ride he embarrassed me by playing the national anthem at full blast and screaming the lyrics to other cars as they passed by. And when I turn the music down or turn it off he would whine like a little kid and ask if we were there yet... he’s 16, one year younger than me.... a sixteen year old boy throwing a whining fit like a toddler? Not a pleasant sight. What’s worse is that my friends decided to whine with him. It wasn’t really an ideal first drive without adults for me.... but I got a puppy after camp so my summer was a blast! My dogs name is Harley, named after my grandpas favorite motorcycle, she’s a sweet pup👌😄🐶

Well I don't expect anything out of this but here's my story anyway.
This summer I went on a thrift store mission for my friend Rana's birthday present. Which leads me to unfortunately find out that my favorite thrift store was closing, though literally everything was on sale by at least 75%. As a result I ended up customizing jacket for Rana with the Rebels symbol + the quote "May the Force Be with You", a bowling ball bag that I've used as a purse ever since, and several additional items to upcycle at a later date... including a bowling ball.
Maybe not the most exciting story in the world but it makes me smile:)

I don't ever care for winning, I just felt like writing something down. To give me something to do during work breaks.
So, my father was in the military, and we moved around a lot. At some point he was stationed in Kansas. We got there just before summer break, therefore I couldn't be enrolled just yet, so that as fortuitous. I spent a lot of time mucking about the first few weeks. Hadn't any friends yet, I was usually out during school time, as summer break hadn't started just then.
Fast forward a week into summer break. My dad's friend just arrived to Kansas, they were usually stationed together, and his son and I were friends. We didn't do much, he was the kind of kid who cared little for adventure, or mischief. Though I could coax him into the occasional grounding. Another two weeks in, and it was me, friend 1, and friend 2. Friend 2 was a kid who lived permanently nearby. I met him during an excursion outside of the base, one my dad didn't like much at the time, but he was lenient, and I got off with a talk about wandering around like that.
I'll highlight some of the more interesting things that happened during the summer. Lest we be here all day.
There was a river where we had all found a sneaky way of getting around the steep bank. Through a rusted old car that had obviously fallen into disrepair years ago. This eventually led to us all getting tetanus shots. We also had a close encounter with a Bobcat, or what we thought was a close encounter, much to our surprise they aren't very aggressive. Or at least, it was unnecessary, and later awkward, throwing friend 1 into harm's way, to what I thought was a play to save my own life from a viscous animal, turns out I was just making a friend mad.
We also, having extremely lenient parents, stayed at a small, public skate park until the wee hours of the morning. There was some brush surrounding the park. The park that the skate park itself was in. At around 3A.M. The brush that led directly to a heavily forested area, and not the residential areas like the left and right brush, began to rustle occasionally. Me and Friend 2 riled up Friends 1's easily frightened personality. What happened shortly after had shut us both up, and gave a good, sobering dose of comeuppance. A large canine figure emerged, and we all frantically climbed to the tallest ramp, keeping a close eye on it. The height of the ramp, and indeed the fence around the skate park did give us some relief. The figure, silhouetted against the park lights, was tall, and quite large, and didn't disembark all night. Nor would any of us had enough courage to try and make a run for it, in case it decided to come back during our sprint. No. We decided to wait for our parents to finally get sick of us being out so late, or base guards rescuing us for our trespass into a curfewed park.
It was not until 6A.M, that enough light broke over the woods where the figure had emerged from, that it was revealed the menacing werewolf was in fact just a very large husky. A husky who- once we had laughed it off, poking the other about how scared they were- greeted us with kisses and a desire to play. It was in fact a pet dog who had escaped from the aforementioned residential areas, and found its way to the park, via the woods it had gone off into.
There were perhaps a lot more things that happened that summer, but those two are the most memorable. Along with the time I had the other kids in base convinced there was a monster, thanks to my dad's covert outfit fitted with enough bobby pins so that it might fit me, and a hide and seek game with my friends. It was not two weeks later until I realized I was the monster that had spread like wildfire around the youth in the area. Or the time I got addicted to WoW, and I still am to this day, we all played it for days without respite.
It as a magical summer, it was perhaps the greatest year of my young life. I will not be forgetting it until the day I die, I'm glad I got to share it with random people on the internet.
P.S. I did not feel like taking the time to properly structure this thing. It was hard enough writing this on my phone in between breaks at work. Hope you enjoyed regardless.

Its technically canon that ford traveled alongside rick for a while. Hes been in the same prison as rick, hes been in a fight with a talking chair, he joined a group of outlaws (rick squanchy and birdperson) plus theres a scene where you can literally see ford and rick talking.
Stanley is in no way responsible for all the crazy shit, thats legit all Ford's fault for building the portal in the first place. It always bugged me how they treated Stan after Ford came out of the portal and joined the show

I never got why Ford gets upset about burning the book? I thought the goal was to make sure no one read it to open the portal. Wouldn’t destroying all the journals do that.
It's like this: it's better to have the knowledge stored somewhere, than it being lost forever. Rather than burn the Library of Alexandria because knowledge was feared in the past, locking it would've been better. Something līke that.

At first, wasn't sure what, uh, 'ramunae' was, but I've had that at a local sushi restaurant for years...decades. Or at least, it's in the exact same type of bottle. Good stuff, though I've never seen an octopus flavor.
