I don't think they ever programed it as I have not found a way to reset. Other bikes with this display have the same problem. I bypassed it by getting the free komoot app which gives you all the stats from your ride. Thank you so much for watching : )
@@papablueshirt I had to badger customer support at Philodo for my H8 - on the controller on the left hand - you press the upper side button and hold then push and hold then also the Minus key for a second or three. The tripometer will reset to zero. .... I dont know if your controller is the same. But if so, that might work.
I wish this had the same display as the H8, I love that display. Nice large letters that I can actually see LOL This display is different, it does have some nice features like plain english when you are programming it, however the missing trip is a known issue. Other bikes with the same display have the same problem. I just got me the Komoot app and it keeps track during my rides : )
Still watching. Glad to see you doing this. I started searching for this stuff after deciding I wanted to get my old tail with MS out E-biking. I'm saving money now to get one by spring. I hope to one day see this country, a dream since childhood...
Thank you so much for watching. An ebike will give you a whole different look on life. At times I do not want to get up and go out, but once I am out there I am so glad I went. I come back with a great feeling every time. : )
Still watching! 115? Is that normal? We have been running around 80-90 and that is not normal (Seaattle, WA). What is the closest town to you? I would like to get a better idea of the country roads you are on. Corn looks good. I'll be interurban when I get out there, but not in hurry. Let you do the riden' for now!!!😁😎👍👌🚴♂🐩🌞‼
Yeah, it is normal for this time of year. We get a couple of months of intense heat. Location: If you look up the path of the Mayfield tornado you will get an idea of the area. We had debris all over our yard and lost several neighbors, it was a scary time. I am thankful to still be here. Thank you so much for watching : )
PBS - Have you ever been interested in a special handlebar? I have been looking at the Jones H-Bar Loop 2.5. It does what you did - raises the bar height (2.5 inches) plus changes the angle the hands have to hold the bar at. I get numb hands after a while - (also needing a better seat like yours)
I had not seen the Jones Bar, it looks interesting. My hands used to go numb, but they are much better now with the handle bar extender. Seems like the extender would be easier because you do not have to change your grips, brakes, etc. But the H-bar does look like it would be comfortable. Have you thought about tilting your seat a little to the back? That helped me as well.
Actually feels a little cool after those days over 100. Re Batteries, I told my wife I don't have a bike but i have a battery that has wheels. Actually at times it is more range than my butt can handle LOL
If you look in the description I put the link under my current Jumbo setup. I have used several, so if you are needing one for a different bike let me know and I will try to steer you in the right direction. I have some tips for installing too : )

If I am doing my big 100 mile ride, I will only use it on the steep hills to keep my speed up. If I split my ride up and do morning and afternoon, on my afternoon ride I only go about 50 miles, so I use the AWD about 80% of the time. It is a very fun ride and I get done faster so I can get out of the heat. Today's heat index is supposed to be 115, which can be brutal.
I guess the philodo is similar to my seeker26.. means in pedal assist you run rear motor only and if you use manual throttle the front motor kicks in if I want both motors while pedaling I use manual throttle and engage cruise control (and can release throttle but both motors keep the speed)
This dude's a daily, rolling advertisement for 'Philodo.' Hey Philodo, how 'bout helping out a brother with spare ebike? 🚲 He needs extra batteries to haul the weight of his extra batteries. 😆 Good job, Papa Blue Shirt. 👍 A new subscriber here.
Welcome aboard : ) Yeah, they have a new model coming out called the Hunter. Maybe I will get one of those next as a celebration for getting both my Philodo's to 15k. Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching.
Yes, I usually pedal the whole time. Sometimes when I am recording I will use the throttle as it is hard to ride one handed and be stable, but most of the time I pedal. Yes, I usually have it on the highest setting as I like to go fast. It keeps me engaged : ) When I want a really good workout, I will play music and downshift so I have to pedal hard. My 100 mile rides are more of an endurance thing. thanks for watching
Congrats on the 58 miles, that is way more than most would ever do. : ) Yeah, it is pretty rough on the backside that is for sure. I now have callouses, but it can still be rough. Biker shorts, suspension seat and glide stick really helps. Thanks for watching :0)
You need a cargo trailer for your batteries 😅. I'd be too afraid of fires. One is less chance Hip or back problems on one side means the other side is weak so have to balance on the side that doesn't hurt and lift opposite leg
Yes, that is my next project. Trying to decide which trailer to get. One wheel or two? I charge mine down in the shop, I too have watched too many TH-cam videos where things get out of hand. Usually, they have modified them and did something wrong. However, I would not want to charge in the house and certainly not unattended.
@@papablueshirt good . My garage gets too hot I do laundry room which is next to garage lol. . I thought a few caught fire when riding but ya probably from backyard engineers. lol
We are currently in our dry season. Our wet season is like the monsoons. We typically get around 60 inches a year, but during the summer months we can dry out pretty good. My ponds are going dry, but they will fill up again in the fall. So there is a lot of moisture still in the ground so everything will stay green unless our dry season is longer than usual.
The more I ride, the more weight I lose, so it kind of evens out ; ) I think the bike is rated for 330, so I should have a ways to go before I have to worry. : )
The problem with doing that is you have to be careful they all stay at the same charge level. Which means you balance them and then charge them with the same charger. I ride twice a day, so I need my batteries to charge fast, so I like that they are separated and connected with a balancer. Then I can run separate chargers to charge fast. Then I do not have to worry about making sure they are all at the same level. I know there is probably an easier way to do it, but this has worked well for me. I have seen too many batteries go up, so I guess I am a little afraid to experiment LOL
you do not ride 200 miles twice a day but 100 a day is a number (how is your ass hi hi) charge ALL packs to full and use all in parallel means they all have same level and after use need same charge added most packs can be charged with 5 A max happy riding
Yeah, I need a trailer with panels on it. People often say I look like papa smurf, especially with my beard tucked in. I look like father time with my beard out, but I can not see out my helmet mirror as my beard gets in the way LOL
