They confirmed new Cyber Dragon structures deck on June, with 2 Maxx C in it so I dont see they will do anything about this soon

Cash prize in Japanese tournament? If I am not mistaken, Japanese law prohibits direct cash incentives as it constitutes as bribery.
So, if Magic can offers thousands of cash prizes then I am pretty sure the tourney is NOT IN JAPAN.
That's misinformation. Prize moneys are legal. Paying to get a prize(entry fee) that is illegal.
Third party sponsorships are legal.

I tot it was as how I described cuz I also heard from elsewhere and also.... the site(formerly Izazin, now is Tonamel) where Japanese host their registration for Yugioh never give direct cash but in coupons like..... Taiyou Store 2,000 yen coupon or the Japan railway pass Suika I think? 1,000 yen or something.
So I tot it was something to do with their law not allowing direct cash but for some reason "Coupons" are allowed or just direct give out product boxes.

I play OCG, and MaxxC exist for 10 years. The card is really strong, yes, but we play the card just fine throughout the years, our price card range still consistently affordable. All the problem TCG had today basically because Konami simply know people on TCG will take anything they throw at player like spiking rarity and price then theyll simply take it for competitive sake. From our perspective, thats the weird one. People arround here could simply throw Yugioh away if they do it like that, since there still many CG that competitively more interesting and affordable than them.

@@Squiddysbecause tcg have too much whale, so they aim to them who can get entire stock. But ocg still have student buy it, so they need balance rare a bit.
@@maryceleste_aghost you can also consider whales and budget players a like. Rarity collection is proof of that. Whales got themself the high priced rarities while a lot of newer players could pick up stables at a reasonable price. Shops also reported that they had a lot more players buy rarity collection and even join the local scene.

@@maryceleste_aghost depends what you call expensive. You can get into yugioh now with a tournament ready deck for about 100-150. Which is quite cheap considering you get staples that will be there for any deck you wanna play. Will you be competetive with it? Likely not. Competetive yugioh will be expensive until TCG decides to print cards like the OCG does. But that doesnt mean that you cant enjoy the game with a small budget and enjoy playing it with friends at a local tournament.
I played vanguard around 2012 and officially tournaments were best of 1. I went to some larger tournaments and despite me playing meta, actually practicing with my friends and being decent, it's so damn hard to win these tournaments.
Our vanguard locals played 2/3 because we wanted to play more and reduce variance. Way better, but we were usually under a dozen.

So, how did it ruin the cards ruin the tournament? I'm sure the 7400 players when they sign up for the tournament, they were told of the format and the cards that is legalized to play. And what does the Guinness have to do right in the middle of the 2 cards? So confusing.

Yeah, I can never take OCG tournaments seriously because Maxx C is just going to dictate if you can play your turn or not. It's really just a minigame of who can sack Maxx C the most which is further exasperated by events that do Best of 1. It's why we see random rogue decks winning some events but that happens far less often in the TCG.

8,000 players registered, but only 7,000 actually showed up. Wish they had a waitlist for those who missed the entry lottery, especially since I was still in Japan on vacation. Would’ve been great to participate!
Japanese tourneys don't allow non natives to participate
@@KCS_ that was not the case for this tournament, they allowed applications even if your place of residence was outside Japan. You just needed to pre-register for the lottery in March and pay the $40 deposit for the entry + goods.

This is why "Best of 1" is the best way to play tournaments. You see SO many deck and so many different playstyles come together wikth even the most obscure ones like Horus/Gimmick Puppets making it into the top 16. This is what yugioh SHOULD be. Fun quirky unique interaction and a diverse pool of cards. And not the same core build of "Snake Eyes" with some random throw in engine like Fire King.
So instead of 33% of decks being snake eyes it's better to have 33% of them be tenpai and the rest being snake eyes? Just have a look at the tournament results. It's the same as always besides tenpai being better than usual
No, this kill the game. Every competitive player know the real game start after side when deckbuilding matters, techs and skill. No only luck cause you can brick one game or get destroyed one game.

@@Hawken123Phone if you have to side to win, you are misserable at deck building. A Deck should work the way you build it and not fix parts to respond to an opponent. Either the deck works or it doesnt. Thats how you have a fun game. if you want to sweat, go play league. But I assume those you are playing yugioh competetive don't have the skill to play it anyway.

My opponent creating a full board of 5+ interaction off literally one card that creates 14+ special summons is why Maxx C should be at 3 in the TCG.

In Japan, it is a much different ballgame, YuGiOh is actually beloved there to a certain extent and the company treats its customers better.
