Please break Geoff out of Folsom Prison, he is singing the Blues. That is actually him playing the harmonica. He learned how to play it while doing shows at Disney.
I love the way Geoff arranged himself on this one - full baritone, tenor, bari-tenor, and bass. Sometimes when he just "clones" himself with duplicates, he'll mix-and-match who's singing which part, but this one he kept everyone singing just their own parts - and doing it so well!
I'm a patron of Geoff, but not at a tier where my name gets in the scroll, maybe someday. Because of that, I've watched this many times since he released it on Patreon a couple of weeks ago. Watching your faces made me feel it more than I have before. You helped me appreciate the mood and the sadness, thank you for that. Now I've got tears in my eyes. And just so ya know, Voiceplay's new one will probably be out in about a week. Be prepared!
I have never seen anyone change so much by growing hair. Makes it really easy to think he is more than one man. He definitely has the talent of several.
I'm one of those that watch Geoff and VoicePlay FIRST, then go to my reactors as they come on the scene. I get to watch you guys witness this first-hand like I did, which is fabulous! This is poignant and beautiful and I don't know how we couldn't remember him.
This song brings tears to my every time as the images of what the dragon is doing as they sing their death dirge. The music always sounded like wings pumping in the back ground the deep deadly sound of the wings up and hitting low. The deadly shadow think of not being able to do anything but watch your friends and family be burned alive, eaten or drop from the sky by that deadly greedy Smaug dragon. Greed begets Greed in this deadly moment. All you can do is accept the inevitable of a horrific death. Smaug came because of the massive amount of gold and gems the dwarves had collected never happy with what they had. In the end Smaugs Greed was his demise by the greed of all races. Fabulous version he holds the tremble of fear in his voice along with acceptance of it all. I think it is now my absolute favorite.

Loved your reaction. I've listened to Ed Sheeran's version before Geoff's and have to say that I like the somber beginning of Geoff's better. These are brothers, sitting around a fire, contemplating battle with a monster, and little hope of survival. As the song continues, their resolve strengthens and though they might not survive, they are dedicated to the effort. They shall be rembered.
After seeing this "audition" for "America's got Talent", I know the song 🎵 now he will need to do to complete this trilogy. Maybe Geoff can make a saga of these kinds of songs
I believe that this is one of his more creative arrangements. I love that each of the dwarves got their moment to shine. I knew he could hit tenor range but he usually doesn’t sing very long as a tenor. When Jess turned her head to look at Mike when the Tenor Geoff came in… That’s exactly how I feel every single time I hear it.
Anything new from Geoff or VoicePlay are immediate views for me, even if I don't like or don't know the original song. They are just that good. Next step is to watch my favorite reactors view it, and I appreciate you guys getting this up so quickly! 🤟
Did anyone else spot the Easter egg ? Geoff on the far right is wearing the same key around his neck that he wore in " Misty Mountain Cold ". ( In that one it was the Geoff on the far right but in different clothing ).
