    I’m going for my lesson in an hour, I’m 64 and never skied. Thank you Deb for being here with your easy to grasp and understand lessons. From Australia. ⛷👍

    Numbering the edges is a FANTASTIC idea, I wish I'd heard of it sooner!

    PLEASE keep posting more content like this, Deb! Your teaching style makes so much sense to me, more than any instructor I've ever had. Such clarity! Love the bicycle analogy! And the part about little movements with the ankles and opening the door. I've never thought of it like that! I've been skiing for several years and just can't seem to get out of the wedge. I can do blue runs, but only in the wedge. I feel very stable in the wedge, and every time I try to bring my feet in, my uphill foot gets loose and I get unstable, so I go back to the wedge. Maybe I need more pressure on my uphill foot? I dunno. I also need to learn how to shift my weight to my outside edges. I always feel like I'm flying down the hill, even when I'm making wedge turns. Although COVID restrictions have kept me off the slopes this year and last year, I will put your advice to work the next time I can get to the mountains! Maybe one of these years I'll be able to ski parallel!! P.S. I loved skiing Steamboat! Maybe I'll catch you next time I'm there! :)

    We live in Idaho and have been to Steamboat twice, a great resort. Your videos have taught me so much, and I appreciate your content and how you explain what we should be feeling. Do you take bookings for next year this early for ski lessons? Steamboat is definitely worth the drive, but to have a lesson from you would be fantastic!

    Hi Deb! Love you instruction. Here’s a dumb question. I just wanna go down the hill with my kids, I’m not young anymore and the learning curve might be a bit steep for me now. How do I build confidence of going down a steep hill? I’m not a thrill seeker, I just wanna cruise down. Eventually these little farts will wanna go down a blue run and I’d want to embarrass myself much.

    Thanks a lot Deb, i learnt more watching you video than getting tips from ski instructors. One dilemma i have, that while turning my right foot reacts more fast and i dont feel similar for my left foot. So left turns are shorter but right turns are longer. Any tip on this would be very appreciated. Thanks

    Just don’t understand the “opening the door” visual; anyone on here have another way to explain it?

    • @boban4806
      @boban4806 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Jerry, imagine you have your hands occupied with a tray full of drinks and you try to enter the room and open the door with your leg - you stand firm on one leg and the other leg moves gently the door ajar. During turning left you stay firm on the right ski and the left foot moves gently back by bending your knee and a bit right (uphill). I hope i understood it right.

    • @SanmathiBharamgouda
      @SanmathiBharamgouda 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@boban4806 how does this movement fit into the other logic where i am supposed to put pressure on the opposite leg of where i am turning - as in to turn left i put more weight on the right?

      @@SanmathiBharamgouda you put pressure on the right foot and left foot moves back and a bit right

    • @myfelicidade
      @myfelicidade 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      let say you are finishing a turn to the left. You are moving towards the left and your right ski (downhill ski) has most of the pressure. To start the new turn (to the right), you simultaneously bend the right leg and tilt your right ski to the right using your foot and maybe a bit your knee. This will automatically transfer the weight to the left foot, and make you turn. Your left ski will go become your new downhill/outside ski.
      Basically it's the inside ski that "opens the door"/leads the turn.
