Some of James' best work is when he gets behind the wheel of TVR. Theres a genuine, infectious enthusiasm that comes across from the camera. It does beg the question, when are you finally going to buy one?
Bonkers! I love a TVR! The chassis on my old 280S2 flexed so much the clamshell catches would pop off mid corner when on it 🫣 or my car was just poop but I loved it, happy days ☺️
I own a 2000 Dodge Viper ACR. I have wanted to try a TVR since my Gran Turismo days. It’s always felt like TVR and Vipers shared the same spirit, questionable build quality with a bit too much power and amazing looks. Unfortunately they’re a bit difficult to come by here in the US.
Not for long. The 1st 1999 Tuscan models are now USA eligible. I'm rebuilding mine at the mo and in 2 years when she 25 years old she may well head to the USA.
American here car nut since birth and lucky enough to be around cars from all over the world. Always loved and wanted a TVR. With 25 year import now can actually get one hopefully. This one is too cool.
I saw it at a motorway services a couple of months ago. Trust me, it looked awful. The color did it no favours. I think in a different color (as well as the brake calipers in a different color), it would look better.
James, I had to report several bots in the comments for sexual content. I am wondering if I need to also report the whole video for this ludicrous and amazing TVR.
I remember the movie Swordfish with John Travolta. It had at least one TVR in it. They're unique rides. Another unique ride... I miss seeing the Morgan Aero 8. That is a sweet car.
Nice video as usual. And nice hybrid car 😉. I saw this summer a Sagscan or Tusgaris, I believe just a Tuscan with Sagaris body panels but this was not too bad either.
I like the front but for me the rear as a convertible looks a but awkward, but then after the griff and chimaera anything would. Fair play to the owner though for doing what he wanted.
does anyone else hear something wrong with the audio? it sounds like theres a sidechain going on thats cutting out some frequencies periodically, rather jarring
it's peaking youtube works at 14 luf so if you master it and it's too loud when it peaks you get that cut in the audio. i make my videos slightly quieter to avoid this then i get people complaining it's too quiet. finding the happy medium is really hard.
11:49 3 unlabelled buttons 2 for the windscreen wipers and one that open the door 😂 best check them when stationary then me thinks I wonder how many times it starts raining a tvr door flings open 😂
"TVR shooting in the head😂" That's when it got bored of trying to throw you out 😂 every time you even sniffed at the throttle coming out if a greasy roundabout (and that not even lifting off suddenly).
Brilliant video. If you’d got Jeremy Clarksons old job at TopGear it might have survived. But we got a radio 2 DJ and a cricket player. Wonder why it went wrong😂
Cool cut n shut.Fair play! Shame TVR never did it but to be honest all the T cars are basically the same. I remember them coming under quite a lot of criticism for having lots of models that where basically the same thing. They effectively cannibalised each others sales.
I would say that the Tuscan is the most beautiful car they ever made. And the Tasmin is the coolest looking. Kind of like how the Miura is the most beautiful Lamborghini ever made and the Countach is the coolest looking Lamborghini.
James will want to know about the blue Tuscaris (I think that is what the owner has called it) as this gives you Tuscan with a Sagaris exterior but stiffer as a targa rather than a convertible…
Great vid of a unique car. Something wonky going on with the audio though, as if some sort of overzealous normalizing algorithm is trying to deal with clipping.
couldn't one insert filters in those cut-outs on the bonnet? It would be cool to just know that atleast some air is getting through and they do atleast serve some purpose. However small that may be.
I enjoy its uniqueness, right down to the odd pedal box configuration (looking like three accelerator pedals) and the stand-out colour is majestic in its insouciance. Now can I be fairer than that?
I's say that verde mantis is also very fitting name for a color on this car. Mainly because it kinda looks like a mantis. (I am prepared for the whole internet to tell me to go to specsavers)
Just the sound of that engine alone is absolutely addicting! Unfortunately, I live in the US and there are no TVR dealers, and you have to wait until a car is 25 years old before you can import it anyway. However, is there a way I can purchase just a TVR engine and have it shipped over?
Nothing sounds as Sonorous as a TVR. Whether its the Rover V8, even the Flat V8 has it's own Unique sound but that Straight Six has such a Musical, Glorious Sound I'm not Surprised they turned the Volume Up!!
that is wild. im a big 350 fan especially with that killer lexan ducktail. there was a British ganster movie that the lead guy drove and I cant remember the name of the movie. are you familiar. Im of uk heritage but born in the state and I love my British cars. this is awesome!!! cheers
I wonder how loud it actually is when you described it that way. I've been in my mate's modded car and it's already loud enough when we're in it. Just hope that the pedestrians won't be cursing you too much I guess when you're driving this kind of cars lol
Isn't the task of a TVR the same as that of the first Suzuki GSX-R 1100? To scare the driver shit less and at the same time give them THE driving experience.
Wonder what those beeps are in the at low speed. Anti stall? Radar? Even Jays audio sounds like it mutes something out every second or so. Its the little gremlins they have.
There's always something beautifully bonkers and brilliantly barking about any TVR, unfortunately here in Ireland just the road tax alone would be anywhere between 1800 to 2400 Euros per year, depending on model year. One day though! 😉
It's going to take every ounce of self control I have not to want to import a Sagarus when they become legal in the US in several years. I've lusted over one ever since Jeremy Clarkson reviewed one on Top Gear. The only two things that might prevent me from doing so are the prices that keep going up, and the fact that I know it'll break, often, as TVRs do.
It was clear enough to me in the 1990s that a TVR was not for me but I definitely enjoyed that they existed and I think the automotive world is a poorer place without them. It's a poorer place overall, compared to the 90s of course. The 90s was probably close to the apogee of automobile engineering in terms of internal combustion, transmission and suspension. What has followed has been the gradual transformation of cars into soulless, bloated, GBP 100.000 iPads with wheels. If TVR hadn't failed when it did it would certainly have gone under now or had to change its character beyond recognition to survive.
No, there certainly is at least one Sagora out there made from real Sag parts. Jon's car. Plus the slats were left in due to costs, nothing to do with stones The Momo Trek R does make the Sag easier to drive.
Wheels look gash, wants something smaller and more racey. Awesome car though! I watched misha's nurburgring lap in a sagaris and was disappointed :( i thought theyd be as fast as they look
Definitely too large.... 17's would improve the ride. As the car is so light weight the tire pressure can be reduced. I've got a Chim it's pretty tail happy at 32psi. But 28psi is perfect. It's only on 16" wheels at the back 15" front. Which is standard. Same size car same curb weight.

waw this was refreshingly unexpected... hopefully you will get a Wiesmann in for review as well
When you thought you finally acquired all the knowledge you needed about TVR, here comes Jay going "Actually..."😂
You got JayEmmed
"-all you had is a long travel throttle pedal and your choice of deity." Coolest line I've heard in a long time.
Thankyou :)
Some of James' best work is when he gets behind the wheel of TVR. Theres a genuine, infectious enthusiasm that comes across from the camera. It does beg the question, when are you finally going to buy one?
One day. But not today.
That thing is insane, completely ludicrous, and absolutely fantastic! I want one!
Finally someone built the Sagaris I dreamt of as small kid
Bonkers! I love a TVR! The chassis on my old 280S2 flexed so much the clamshell catches would pop off mid corner when on it 🫣 or my car was just poop but I loved it, happy days ☺️

This car is SO AWESOME! The coolest TVR I've ever seen, absolutely perfect color choice too!
What a fantastic car! That noise is glorious, like a race tuned Austin Healey 3000. Yum!
American here car nut since birth and lucky enough to be around cars from all over the world. Always loved and wanted a TVR. With 25 year import now can actually get one hopefully. This one is too cool.
I've got a tuscan and it's brilliant and wouldn't swap for one of those..Great video
Fantastic thank you. This is more like it!
World full of grey barges and you bring some colour sound and thrills. Phew!!!
This car looks bonkers. Part of me likes the styling, part of me would be slightly embarrassed driving it. It certainly makes a statement!
Yes they say Ferrari drivers are small I reckon TVR drivers have those huge Japanese tentacle things
I saw it at a motorway services a couple of months ago. Trust me, it looked awful. The color did it no favours. I think in a different color (as well as the brake calipers in a different color), it would look better.

I remember the movie Swordfish with John Travolta. It had at least one TVR in it. They're unique rides. Another unique ride... I miss seeing the Morgan Aero 8. That is a sweet car.
Yup that's a Tuscan
That film was memorable for other reasons. 🥵
0:58 Mjaaah? Who are you, Skeletor? 😂
Thanks Alex, very nice indeed.
Nice video as usual. And nice hybrid car 😉. I saw this summer a Sagscan or Tusgaris, I believe just a Tuscan with Sagaris body panels but this was not too bad either.

does anyone else hear something wrong with the audio? it sounds like theres a sidechain going on thats cutting out some frequencies periodically, rather jarring
Wind noise being badly cancelled by the camera perhaps.
Sounds like wind noise and vibration cutting in
It's hurting my ears
it's peaking youtube works at 14 luf so if you master it and it's too loud when it peaks you get that cut in the audio. i make my videos slightly quieter to avoid this then i get people complaining it's too quiet. finding the happy medium is really hard.
I thought it was just my ears. 😂 But no, something definitely off.
Wonderful and brilliant, amazing colour, lots of power totally love it and your review 😁
That shade of green is gorgeous! Green is my favorite color ever, and I love dark green and neon/lime green. They are beautiful colors
11:49 3 unlabelled buttons 2 for the windscreen wipers and one that open the door 😂 best check them when stationary then me thinks I wonder how many times it starts raining a tvr door flings open 😂
Great to see another TVR video, my favourite
"TVR shooting in the head😂" That's when it got bored of trying to throw you out 😂 every time you even sniffed at the throttle coming out if a greasy roundabout (and that not even lifting off suddenly).
I'm not a fan of black alloys, but here they're spot on! It looks MEGA !!
that really looks like it was actually made by TVR. great job!
Brilliant video. If you’d got Jeremy Clarksons old job at TopGear it might have survived. But we got a radio 2 DJ and a cricket player. Wonder why it went wrong😂
Looks and sounds terrific. Great colour too, might suit a distant future 944 project I’ve got in mind!
Good vid! Much better paint job in grey than the lime green
I'll never forget seeing a bright Orange one parked up with smoke/steam coming from the bonnet..Ha !! a Sagaris...whoops!
It was having a post coital smoke
The last TVR models were stunning with great exterior and interior design.
Wow! I never knew this even existed!! Fascinating! Btw. I like the exhaust!
That sound 😅. Love it. Amazing car and review
Always loved the Chimera. But a classic TVR like the Seac sounds awesome with the Rover V8
Love it, the color makes it even better.
Missed if you mentioned it; do the bonnet vents open and close or are they fixed?
Would combining the Sagaris and Tamora the other way round be called a Tagaris I wonder? Bit like Tions and Ligers.
Reminds me of the Talbot Tagora.
Got to love a straight 6 reminds me of a sweet sounding mk2 jag a bit..
There’s just something about you and roadsters James 🤩😎🤩
I can't help myself
This one I HAVE to watch! You are the TVR-man Jay.
10:07 Cue "Code Blue" by T.S.O.L.
That song really fits the personality of TVR too!
Always loved TVR's and that is a work of art. Bet Clarkson would like it too.
I'm just amazed as it is a TVR that it didn't burst into flame spontaneously.
Fantastic work Alex.
ive always thought of the later TVRs as kitcar dodge vipers... it makes sense that they are a little bit frightening.
Fabulous Car...thank you for the review.
Woooo that big straight 6 sounds good
Cool cut n shut.Fair play! Shame TVR never did it but to be honest all the T cars are basically the same. I remember them coming under quite a lot of criticism for having lots of models that where basically the same thing. They effectively cannibalised each others sales.
The British Viper. I’ve always loved the Sagaris. Blackpools best looking Ax Murderer.
Awesome car and a great review. Thank you.
TVR designs will be great for restomods.
I'm no TVR brand expert, but I believe the wheels are OEM, as fitted to the run-out Sagaris 2 cars, when it lost the side exit exhausts.
Hey mate, if no one has mentioned it, there's something real funky about the audio mix.
Avocado green......obviously the fastest 1970s bath tub ever moulded🤣
For me the TVR T350i is the most beautiful car they ever made!
I would say that the Tuscan is the most beautiful car they ever made. And the Tasmin is the coolest looking. Kind of like how the Miura is the most beautiful Lamborghini ever made and the Countach is the coolest looking Lamborghini.

That's how compression works, when the microphone is battling a mental Blackpool 6-pot and wind noise from a badly designed convertible 😂
couldn't one insert filters in those cut-outs on the bonnet? It would be cool to just know that atleast some air is getting through and they do atleast serve some purpose. However small that may be.

4:29 The "Free Hat" episode of South Park.
I's say that verde mantis is also very fitting name for a color on this car. Mainly because it kinda looks like a mantis. (I am prepared for the whole internet to tell me to go to specsavers)
It really does, even the vents remind me of the barbs on a Mantis arms, it's perfecty matched.
I painted my Exige S in verde mantis - it is a beautiful colour

I've never before wanted to slide into a Trevor, but hey: now it happened
TVRs are crazy in a good way. That exhaust is a bit much; I'm glad Alex isn't my neighbour. :)
This reminds me back then in 2016, on Forza Horizon 3
Nothing sounds as Sonorous as a TVR. Whether its the Rover V8, even the Flat V8 has it's own Unique sound but that Straight Six has such a Musical, Glorious Sound I'm not Surprised they turned the Volume Up!!
And which other V8 engines use a flat plane crank.Ferrari. At 4000 and higher rpm the Rover V8 howls sonorously.
You should review the TVR Tuscan!
that is wild. im a big 350 fan especially with that killer lexan ducktail. there was a British ganster movie that the lead guy drove and I cant remember the name of the movie. are you familiar. Im of uk heritage but born in the state and I love my British cars. this is awesome!!! cheers
LSD as standard on all the T cars. The upgrade was call the Hydratrack which may didn't like as the character on the limit was more unpleasant.
I wonder how loud it actually is when you described it that way. I've been in my mate's modded car and it's already loud enough when we're in it. Just hope that the pedestrians won't be cursing you too much I guess when you're driving this kind of cars lol

To scare the driver shit less and at the same time give them THE driving experience.

@alexandermclaughlin3978 Correct! I was once considering buying a turbo-charged GSX-R 1100, that had actually achieved that task.
@@matslundstrom7763 Scarily many of them have 😳
Wonder what those beeps are in the at low speed. Anti stall? Radar? Even Jays audio sounds like it mutes something out every second or so. Its the little gremlins they have.
Agree about the steering wheel. The original Personal wheels are much nicer than that Momo one.
There's always something beautifully bonkers and brilliantly barking about any TVR, unfortunately here in Ireland just the road tax alone would be anywhere between 1800 to 2400 Euros per year, depending on model year.

they actually made a... chimaera

The exhaust needs turning down, get the back boxs repacked. Otherwise I think the car appears pretty amazing.
TVR are my alltime favourites sadly they never got to my country and im still a broke ah so...
TY J! 🙏🙏. A rare beast indeed, & looking good! A Powers updated S6 engine can come with a 100k mile warranty.

I can almost see @upndownvids having his hands full with a TVR of yours as well as Prof Tomato!
It was " build it and they will come" Mandela effect
Wayne’s world 2 also
@@AVM-Music yes, "They" interview "With" the Vampire and "In" the city . . . if you know you know right

Jesus take the wheel...
Someone once said that "If you don't feel like a TVR is trying to kill, you're not trying hard enough".
Nice looking car.
that is beautiful!
Fair play.
Do you think it would be comparable to the BBR V6 MX-5? If so, then I’m sure would be a lot more obtainable and not quite as costly
Also... Nice SG5 ;)
Love me some TVR
Good video 👍👍
Its if you build it THEY will come haha. Field of dreams, what a great movie, shoeless joe jackson
I was hoping to see your sunglasses fly off at some point
One of the most tricky handling cars and fits a set of budget tyres to it , makes no sense skimping in that area
Nice!!!!!
If you build it they will come is from Field of Dreams, a fantasy movie about baseball.
Ive that seen. Good!
