This is not a criticism of General Air specifically, but rather professional welders and welding supply companies generally: when recommending equipment for the hobbyist (hobbyist = guy with a job, family, home, etc. wanting to weld as a, you know, hobby) the recommendations for machines are always those north of $1K, or in the case of the Miller machines in this video, several times that amount. I'd love to have the Power of Blue working for me, but Blue requires too much green. How about some reviews/recommendations of machines that the average guy can actually afford to buy? For instance, I have a Forney 140 MP. It's not fancy, and I guess they don't pay for people to promote them in videos, but it works very well. Just my 2¢.

Hi Greg, thanks for your comments. You can definitely get a capable welder for a lower cost but at General Air, we have found that Lincoln and Miller machines produce high quality results, need less maintenance, and have great local support. Plus, we prefer to distribute from an American company. If you have specific questions about a process, we would be happy to give you some tips, regardless of the machine you're using.

👎 The only one I could afford but not enough amps ! So that’s why the over the pond welders are so popular awww but don’t forget about HTP Weldpro here in the USA !

@@hahudi9645 but it doesn't have to break the bank getting up into the multi thousands for weekend hobbyists which this videos title seemed to be geared towards

I don't know why tig welding would even be mentioned for a new welding hobbyist.
You start out by trying to tig weld you are likely to just get frustrated and give up welding all together.
