Looks like another winner! The unfortunate body cladding notwithstanding, it continues Mazdas trend for providing a European inspired driving experience with Asian practicality/reliability. Kudos to them for the standard safety tech, which should be the case in all vehicles at this point.

In my opinion Mazda is doing their thing with the beautiful interiors but one thing that's hard for me to decipher is that the CX 30 and 3 have the sensors behind the door handles and the other Mazdas you've got to lock and unlock with the button. I think power tailgates make zero sense unless they are hands free or you are super short and can’t reach it to close it after it opens. It’s just a show off feature otherwise. If you have to press the button on the door to open it, you might as well just keep your hand there and open it manually instead of pressing the button, stepping back, and then waiting for the motor to slowly raise the tailgate.
I feel like Mazda plays it too safe.. ok the interior is nice and all but just same switchgear and parts as every other Mazda.. they need to differentiate their models more.. make them more unique! They also need a hybrid or electric car.. they only have 7 models in their entire lineup.. need more like Hyundai or Toyota!
That belt line on this vehicle is too high, making green house the visibility a bit challenge. Also the entertainment screen is 8.0" but why does it looks so small and sunken into the dash.
That massive plastic cladding ruins the look a bit for me; wish they would've just produced a larger CX-3, which is just about perfect in the looks department.
Another excellent job on this review, guys. I actually really like the styling of the CX-30, and it seems a bit more practical and "liveable" for small families, as opposed to the CX-3. Well done!
Was ready to buy a cx 30 premium but realized the side mirrors weren't heated and that is dangerous in the northern climates..very disappointed cost Mazda a sale
just test drove this yesterday, very nice car. My only thing about it, is the side visibility. Will probably be going with the CX-5.. for like a thousand dollars more you get a lot more
I like it. Seems to have a happy growly playful air to it. I’m still trying as hard as I can to get used to the super wide wheel well trim, but it’s slowly growing on me. I think I’d like it better over some 19 or 20 inch wheels, but I don’t really see how either can fit this design. Thanks for another great review.
Black or dark gray paint helps blend in the unpainted plastic. We use Turtle Wax Trim Restorer every few months for the hard unpainted plastic inside and out. Adding Berryman B-12 Chemtool in the gas tank a couple of times per year might keep the intake valves cleaner, for the direct injection. I noticed an improvement for the automatic transmission with my CX-5 after adding new fluid at 45 thousand miles. We like the Bose sound, except it needs a better subwoofer added if you like a lot of low end. I like the Mazda steering and power, and the Crosstrek brakes. The newest Skyactiv X diesel-like engine will likely be available soon, for much better gas mileage.

in Europe the top versions come with 360 camera

Agreed, and I love it! I love all Mazda cars btw. (CX-3, CX-5 (including the TD) Mazda3 as well as Mazda6. But the Mazda3 is my MOST favorite.

As a big and tall guy I think the center console will make driving uncomfortable for my right leg. Other than that.... nice looking ride.
