    4x4 transfer cases are different I did the 6r80 swap in my 07 and I had to have both driveshafts customized to fit but I am now about to coyote swap it soon and I have everything needed to turn the 11th gen into a full blown 12th gen on the inside and under the hood 😁

    Ive been deeply pondering swapping my 09 4.6 3v. I just cant justify modifying the 4.6 with the extreme lack of f150 parts and the lackluster performance compared to the 5.0.

      @@MattSoppa literally the best news I've heard in a long time! I've drawn up all sorts of turbo plans for the truck since I've owned it, but it's now sitting at 140k miles. I really enjoy the truck, but that 450hp limit has kept it basically stock it's whole life. Turns out owning an 87 Grand National for 20 years has broken my brain, and putting turbos on everything seems rational to me now 😆

    If you look at an 12 gen f150 the front doors are longer. So that’s part of the reason why measurements were different between trans cross member and front suspension cross member.

    • @MattSoppa
      @MattSoppa  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@scottlance2404 i’d have to disagree because the regular cabs have the little extra doors and the doors are part of the body not the frame. It’s because of the driveline length differences between the 6R 80 and the four-speed auto.

    • @jasonatkinson2032
      @jasonatkinson2032 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      4R70 has a slip-yoke on the end, whereas the 6R80 has a flange end. I agree with you. And has nothing to do with the cab length. @@MattSoppa

    4.6 2v to a gen2 5.0, and I used the same motor mounts, I believe the 4.6, 5.0, and 5.4 all use the same motor mounts.
    I used a stifflers crossmember for a gen 2 lightning. Welded that on after I mounted the 6R80. I cut the old mounts for the 4R70 crossmember out and did have to move the new crossmember farther back.
    I went from a 4R70 to a 6R80, and I had issues finding new coolant lines to work. I ended up using AN hoses with a separate transmission cooler. I bypassed the radiator altogether.

    • @MattSoppa
      @MattSoppa  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@jasonatkinson2032 great! If you check out one of my latest vids you’ll see how I plan to address the cross member and should be able to use the stock 6R80 mount. Good to know in the motor mounts I’d figure they’d work. I also agree on the trans cooling, just going to bypass the rad and go to the cooler from the stock 6R tubes that go to the front of the engine. Did you get the factory gages to work or no? I’ve been told by PBH that gen 2 only a few will work. I’m hoping with what we learned on the 05-10 cars that they’ll all work in the truck with a gen one ECU

      @@MattSoppa my gauges do not work, I haven't bothered to try as I'm planning on swapping in a 2018 complete dash and center console. My only hesitation is the can-bus for the 2018 as it went with a gen 3 coyote, even though the 15 and 18 are the same body. I don't want to fry my 2015 ecu
