Absolutely agree! His mindset is on another level and You should definitely watch his "corona-times" livestreams Alien Guitar Secrets and Under It All, so much amazing knowledge packed in there...
Showed me that it was cool to practice and devote myself to the guitar. years later it’s all paid off. saw him in a small club when I was 17 or 18 and it just blew my mind.
Absolutely agree! He just loves people and I so wish, that more musicians or actually any artists would care as much as he does! The world would be so much better, if people would know how to hold their egos under control ☺
This might sound like a joke, but after i got this guitar back from the luthier after lacquering, I could play things that I couldn't before and with total ease 😅 Vai is the best of the best, as a human being, as a guitarist and as a teacher ☺
@@ToomasJogioja great teacher always inspires you. Few years ago I took a lesson with a and despite my pathetic skills just by given few tips I was way better than before. It's all in our heads
Steve has contributed so much to the guitar industry at so many levels..There's a guitar he used in the early 90's that I want so bad..It's the Flame guitar that I believe Thomas McRocklin owns now..Very cool guitar!
I never really listen to much Vai but whenever I see him talking about playing or even just doing stuff like this, as a guitarist I just feel inspired to get practicing, guy's a legend
Steve Vai. Legend. He reminds me of Roger Federer how he plays. Elegant. Has all the tools. Flowing. Inspirational. Class. Redefined what it meant to play their chosen craft in their own unique ethereal way.
I'm playing it every day 😄 Got the sig laquered, so it won't wash off. But a guitar is meant to be played, it's the whole point of it's existence. Vai's signature just inspires me to play more and more and to get my playing to next levels ☺
Steve Vai is a class act! Can’t wait to see him with Tony Levin, Adrian Belew, and Danny Carey in November for their Beat tour. He truly embodies the generous spirit of the great Allan Holdsworth.
I'm not a huge fan of Vai's music, aint my cup of tea, but I love any video with him. Such a nice guy. I'd recommend watching his old rig rundown video where they go through his studio with him talking about a bunch of his guitars and his use for them.
His music might not be for everyone, but his mind is absolutely fantastic and he has sooooo much wisdom to share, even not related to music at all...a very wise soul ☺
I can say, that from the hundreds and hundreds of different guitars I've tried, this one stands out on a whole new level! I hope You will get one someday too ☺
One of the best moments of my life, couldn't be more happy 😊 Bought the guitar on the same week as was his show, in a way I waited my whole "guitar playing life" for that, about 19 years, so literally a dream come true
Part of Steve's soul is now infused into the guitar 🤗 Can't wait to get it back from the luthier, to put my best effort into doing the instrument justice ☺
The Greatest! I'm not sure about the wrist, but he had operations done and he was on tour. At soundcheck it was visible, that he had some uncomfortableness in his hand, but I'm not surprised, as for how much he plays his instrument. Sure hope, he gets better! The show however was spot on and absolutely amazing!
Actually it's my main instrument, I use it every chance I get 😁 The sole point of a guitar is that it's meant to be played, it then has a purpose...and man, oh man it plays great 😁
Please try not to blow your mind over a little thing like this ☺If it bothers you, then don't get your guitars signed on the front 😄 People are different, there is no right or wrong here. For example, I got it signed the way I did, because of how Vai marks his JEM's EVO, FLO etc and I liked the style, so for me that spot fits perfectly.
If it's that guitar, or any other high quality Ibanez guitar with and Edge or Edge LoPro bridge , it really doesn't need any special setup. I would recommend to adjust the fine-tuning screws to about half their range, so that neither of the screws is totally in or out...I had a minor problem for a while, where my low E would detune itself and I thought I needed some Loctite222 low-grip glue to make it tighter...the thing is, it was almost almost out and at their ends, the screws get a little bit thinner and they don't have the same amount of pressure to them, so they can play around a little bit with a high usage of whammy bar and heavy picking. But when I changed the strings and adjusted the screw to the middle position, it really didn't have this problem anymore. Other then that little issue, it's always in perfect tuning, just some minor adjustments if the temperatures changes...and I live in Estonia, so our amplitude between summer and winter is almost 60 degrees Celsius sometimes 😁 With a ride to the gig in those conditions You may have to makse some adjustments, but it really does stay in tune in most cases. If You have any specific case You wanna discuss, You can DM me on FB and I can try to help 😉
My drum teacher gave me some good advice...never ask for an autograph...make yourself useful to them. talk some shop. recognize they're busy, then swap phone numbers for a later conversation. You'd be amazed...
how exactly were you able to meet him and get your guitar signed? he's coming to my city next month and i would do anything for him to sign my ibanez 🛐🛐
Hey! I bought a VIP ticket called "Full EVO Experience"...you get to chat with Steve, get your stuff signed, attend the soundcheck and afterwards get a tour on the stage with all the gear. It cost around 360€ in Estonia, but there's a pretty limited amount of those tickets. Hope You get the signature 😊
@@ModalGroove yeah, for the VIP ticket you could bring what you want 😄 but well, for the actual concert you could store it in the wardrobe area, but me personally, I had my car parked nearby, so I just put it in my car before the concert
I'm playing the living hell out of it every day, mate 😄 A guitar is meant to be played. I'm not a guitar showcaser/collector, for me Vai's signature gives more inspiration to do justice to the instrument and play and practice even more to get better every day 😉
@@keithg1628 Yeah, Vai is an awesome dude and thinking what's best. I had both those signatures laquered just in case, so I wouln't have to worry accidentally touching them and smearing the signatures off 😁
