Played the 12 inch version till it was the original 7 inch . How bloody good is this , never knew it was that Fine Young Scotsman, Jimmy Somerville adding his vocal talents to this masterpiece at the time .What a great recording.
You really have to tip your hat to the producer of this record! This is a very hard guitar part to play, even for a professional, and then to layer the horns on top of Roland's amazing vocals at just the right moment is really par excellence!

Absolutely. I was mostly a metal head back then, but the place I worked played top 40 so I'd hear a lot of the more mainstream stuff. My mom was always playing Elvis when I was a kid and this was one of my favs this is a great version. Fun times....no hate, no screeching and no division like we have today.

This song resonates with me so clearly - 25 years ago on a nightclub floor I burst into tears realising that it was about ME. I was coming to the realisation that my marriage was over and I needed to change it. I was in love but I wasn't loved any more. A few months later, I made the move.

2022 my very first CD on my first "Sony Diskman" was The Fine Young Cannibals first Album. 1990. I still have it and it is pure Magic! Not even a hair line scratch! This group still at nearly 52 (3 days) years old, still gives me goose bumps. My wife's ringtone is "She Drives me Crazy" interpret that however you want. Lol I was flying to W.V. from Wa. State to go to my Army Training for 16 weeks and that's what I listened to until the batts gave out. And to this day, I always think of FT. BELVOIR W.V. When I hear anything "F.Y.C."
I do not play any instruments, but with a headphone we can hear how well the arrangement of this song has been done. Highlight for the bassist and the guitarist, for everyone, even the one who made the musical arrangement.
