    My first reaction upon watching this lecture was that he talked way too slowly and his points were too simple. But then I realize that that is precisely what makes him such a singularly effective chess educator, even for non-beginners. Will definitely be watching more of his lessons!

    I just have a question, what if when the white has their 2 knights developed and you got the bishop on the diagnol whites next move is to try and trade blacks knight with their white bishop, how do you respond, do you allow the trade or is there a trick... He doesnt mention it so i think its a bad idea but it still catches me off guard in a lot of games

  • @pwnedd11
    @pwnedd11 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Warning: At 34:28, You can't follow that move up with a4... because then it goes Nxc6, bxc6, Nxb6... and then anything black does is trouble. You have to go Nxd5 asap instead of a4 to stop the eventual Nxb6 protected by the discovered protection of the e3 bishop. IMPORTANT: I am not posting to this to sound like I know much about chess. I don't, and Yasser is my hero. I would kill to get one of my Winning Chess books signed by him. I just happened to have lichess open alongside this video and this inaccuracy reared its ugly head. It doesn't change the value of this video, though. As always, Yasser is teaching us principles and chess thinking. He's sooooo awesome!!!! I just figured I'd make a note of this for anyone watching.
