I have been carrying the previous (A8X) version since September 2020. Still looks brand new ~ the plastic is durable. I use it more than I have with previous keychain torches / flashlights as it is more flexible (modes) and the batteries need less charging than the AA battery needed changing in my Magnite.
I dig my A8 lights, I have had all three versions, the latest definitely being the best. I like to mount them at the top inside of my backpacks to light up the inside of the packs in either the white or red light at night.
Nitecore Tiki is my pick too, and I was interested in hearing this. Like much of my EDC that I waist to have and actually carry, I don’t use it enough to spend twice the money and take up more space. I have a hero clip I bought years ago, that I have yet to use. Someday . . .
Generically calling the body of the A8 "plastic" should be said carefully IMHO. While it can be generically called plastic, it is actually Polycarbonate which is a thermo plastic and is generally MUCH tougher than most plastics. It is miles stronger as a flashlight body than many metals. It is real TOUGH stuff. Hit an O-Light and an A8 with a hammer and you'll see.
It's also not advertised as a bike light... An item can have multiple uses depending on the situation you're in. I think anybody with common sense would use a bike light over this thing

Does the body glow in the dark?

wheres the charge cable? And why no mention?
Just because no one hit you riding your bike, doesn't mean that tiny red light should be used as a bike light
But good to have if you are in a situation like Eric ran into.
Exactly the point 🤙 Not a long-term solution, but it worked when I had nothing else!
@@PackHacker2 I get your point, but it gives you a false sense of confidence, could really be a fatal
