An interesting product. People complaining about the short duration of the 6500 lumens setting are missing the point: it is intended as a short burst to disorient an attacker or give a quick glimpse of something rather far away.
This is a really cool technical flashlight that would be perfect for any camping trip or emergency situation. Love your very thorough review! Gonna get me one of these.
Only problem with the 29 is that they had to drop the waterproof rating because the orings kept getting melted with the heat at 6k lumens, I guess I'll wait for the 29pro with ip68 rating in a few months.
So does that mean it actually has the seals as if it was an IP67-type waterproof rating, they just can’t guarantee that they’ll remain effective long term because of the heat?
in the customizable button it is possible to set Lumen shield at the middle press ? i would like to be full power on middle press instead of search mode
I have EDC27 and one thing that really bugged me is the 2 stage button that crap out really quick and lost the detent for the first stage. Now it becomes really touchy to switch power level. Sometimes it will switch power level when you just touch the button, or it will just shut off when you attempt to switch power level. Any idea they fixed this issues?
That 2500 mAh battery is the thing that gets me, it's gonna blow through that battery quick. I have a Fenix LD30 3500 mAh, which I think is one of the beat EDC out there. 1600 lumens, strobe, SOS, with a two-way body clip so you can clip it to your hat for a headlamp. It’s only 4.3 inches long, 1 inch head bezel, and .89 inch body handle. It's Ialso got a tail switch with side button for mode switching. It really is unreal, I suggest grabbing one from Fenix before they get discontinued. There's already a new model, but it's still not as good, I believe.
I need to check that light out. This light is really compact, I don’t think there’s room for a bigger bat. For an EDC light that recharges via USBC I’m ok with it
Kinda disappointed by the beam tint... on most vids it appears to be in the neutral range, maybe 4-4500K? Would like that to be a bit more cool white, 10,000 mah battery, 2 min burst mode and what else, lmao...
This is why I make these videos! So you can see products before you spend your hard earned cash! What might work for one person might not be a good fit for someone else
Yes, there is no real way around it. That much power in such a compact format will generate a lot of heat no matter what. I think it's more about offering the most features in a tiny format when needed without being the best at everything. The 6500 lumens mode only lasts seconds but it's a good example. Not meant to be used for long, just to blind an attacker or get a glimpse of something far away.
@@yves9893 Yes, a nice all-round set of reasonable compromises based on engineering realities, I think! For those with other needs such as durability, waterproof or longer battery life, there are different (and mostly much larger/heavier) options for that. Compromise can be a very good thing by winning nicely in multiple ways and that's how I view this flashlight.

Really helpful review! I’ve been considering getting this light. Keep sharing these awesome insights!
Thank you!! that's why I started doing these videos, some things are just hard to see from pictures on a product page.
Glad you found it helpful :)

Great light! Was impressed with the run times out of suck a compact package!
This light is like using an item in a video game with the bar filling up. Absolutely cool. Going to pick one up!
First time seeing your videos, good solid review, keep it up!

Yeah 6,500 Lumens is no joke.
Whole new meaning to “pocket torch” 🤣

The edc27 has the same rating and lower outputs.
nice , between EDC 35 and EDC 29 which one you recommend? Or which one is your favorite? Thank you, sir

No, the middle press is always the search mode. The full press can be switched between lumens shield or strobe.

Just got EDC29... The button tactile feedback is much better, I hope it stays that way. It does feel a lot better than what I remembered with EDC27.

@gearsNtools for sure, that is an impressive light. I want it, but damnit, I wish it had a 5000 mAh battery 🔋 😤
1600? 😂😂😂
I have it, ive HAD it for like 10 days, charged it once.
You keep saying lumen blade.
It's lumin shield. Hint: It's right at the base of the flashlight.
that plastic tab on the table is nothing me and I don’t know why
Thanks for the review. Is your backyard haunted. I saw those two orbs fly by as you were filming at timestamp 12:32.
Where can i find picattiny mount for this flash light ?
Find someone good at 3D printing.

You basically described a Wuben X1
@@PennytheBernedoodle Except the build quality/longevity of the brand is questionable as well as me not liking their designs at all.

it runs hot very quickly, that was surprising for me.
I mean.. it’s powerful LEDs in a small body. It’s thermodynamics
