@@AdamB34 The local reporters have reported Stidham, with his year of experience in the system, looking like the best guy in OTAs and mini-camp. I'm basing my prediction about Bo on his football mind and drive to succeed. If Zach Wilson was plopped into the 2024 draft after the last 3 years there's no way he'd go as high as Nix lol. Wilson is a know commodity and he's arguably the worst qb in the nfl. Who is going to spend a 1st round pick on a guy you KNOW is trash?
@@AdamB34 It's easy to create deceptive scenarios by altering a player's development trajectory or ignoring context. I'll prove it using your own logic. If Bo Nix were in the 2022 draft coming out after three seasons at Auburn like Jarrett Stidham did, he would not have been drafted at all, or at best might have been a late round 6th or 7th round pick. Nix was ordinary his sophmore year, then regressed as a junior when he played for new Auburn coach Bryan Harsin. In fact, Nix was benched by Harsin when he struggled in the pro style offense that Harsin brought in. Harsin is known to coach hard, which former Broncos QB Brett Rypien admitted, but Rypien also said he was the most influential coach he had ever had when he played for him at Boise State. Nix didn't wait around to see if Harsin could make him better. He immediately bolted to Oregon, following his former OC Kenny Dillingham who was running the same gimicky spread offense concepts he was familiar with from his freshman year. Nix called his one season in Harsin's pro style offense which included operating at times under center "a nightmare". He even went so far as to claim that his love for the game diminished as a result of playing for him. See how easy that was? All I had to do was separate Nix from his final two seasons at Auburn & put him in exactly the SAME context that Bronco fans are using to diss Jarrett Stidham. In point of fact, Nix's ability to read NFL defenses is in doubt, since he's never had to do that in college. ALL of his success has been playing in a system that is exceptionally poor for developing college QBs for the NFL. Now...what would happen if we put Nix in the same draft alongside Zach Wilson with him having only 3 years of college work at Auburn like Wilson had at BYU? Wilson would have still gone near the top of the draft because he was drafted mainly on his physical measurables. Nix would have gone at least 5 or 6 rounds later. Playing two full years extra at Oregon behind one of the best O-lines in the country with NFL quality talent at the skill positions did wonders for Nix's draft stock.

I’m a Jets fan. Zach was pretty good last year, just watch the Texans and Chiefs games. He was good in both, they had no offensive line at all. The year prior he was terrible but last year he was ok.
They’re not trading Zach Wilson. For what? He has no trade value and the Broncos have nothing behind Bo Nix. Zach Wilson’s biggest problem has always been lack of maturity and he was drafted by the most dysfunctional organization in football. Not a winning combination. The talent is there. If anyone can revive his career it’s Sean Payton. This was a great pickup by Denver. It would not surprise me at all to see Wilson thrive in Sean Payton’s offense and be the week one starter. Bo Nix was way over drafted and is hardly a sure thing. I’d take all the Bo Nix hype with a grain of salt….
This maturity line was media manufactured. You probably believe you need another 40 vaccines and that getting the vax keeps its from spreading to other people still too
You hype up Wislon then say to take the Nix hype with a grain of salt 😂😂😂... hilarious. Also... the organization wasn't too "dysfunctional" for them to have BOTH the offensive AND defensive rookies of the year or to have a top 5-10 defense or to have a rb that was 2nd among rbs in total yards behind only Christian McCaffrey. The entire rest of the team is doing just fine and progressing just fine. Wilson was the only one not getting better at all

Maybe. Maybe not. Right now it’s impossible to know. What I’m saying is it was smart to take a 6th round flyer on Zach Wilson. If anyone can make an NFL QB out of Wilson it’s Sean Payton. You really want to make an argument using Ryan Tannehill, Daniel Jones, and Andy Dalton as your examples? You think there might be a correlation between Joe Burrow constantly being hurt and the Bengals OL? I keep hearing how great the New York Jets are and every year it’s always 7-10. The Jets are a dysfunctional mess. Robert Saleh is a weak HC. Joe Douglas can’t draft an offensive lineman to save his life. Woody Johnson can’t hire the right people and he gave total control to a 40 year old nut job, diva QB. Sure, they’ve got a few pieces here and there. But if you think Zach Wilson is the only thing wrong with the Jets, then you’re as delusional as an Aaron Rodgers conspiracy theory. Zach Wilson may very well be a bust. But give him a solid offense HC in Sean Payton and a stable organization in Denver and he’s got a chance to revive his career. Especially he can show a little maturity. He is well worth the 6th round flyer it cost the Broncos…
Zach Wilson has always been impressive in training camp. That has never been his issue. The issue stems from when the bullets start flying. Game time, that’s when it falls apart. But, he can also ball out at times. Consistency is the question. Can Sean Payton slow the game Down for him mentally? I don’t know, but he’s a good kid. I can’t root for him. Interesting that a FIRST round Twelfth selection this season is somehow supposed to a better player as a rookie than a three year veteran. not to mention currently younger than Bo Nix by tWO years, and more experienced than the oldest quarterback on the roster Stidham… Honestly, Zach Wilson is more likely to replace the rookie Bo Nix, than Justin Fields is likely to replace Russell Wilson at any point with the Steelers. @@JWLSports Agreed, draft position is only important if it means acquiring a particular player before another team does. Players like Brady and Purdy, Russell Wilson, and even Kurt Warner are the proof the draft is overrated. College Systems aside, Zach seems just as capable, as he too completed over the SEVENTY percent of his passes his senior year too only giving up three interceptions… Again, the upside all things being equal, Zach is two years younger with three years of real world experience to inform him on how to handle this season. If NIX’s learning curve is anything like Zach’s or Stidham, he will be older than Stidham is now, and in his THIRTIES… Last year, the Broncos seemed closer to making the playoffs than they do this year… Ironic now that the Steelers have switched places, They have Russell Wilson, and the Broncos will potentially field three different quarterbacks this season… 🤔

I took the comments to state that Zach has the strongest 'arm talent'. Meaning beyond arm strength, he has the ability to get the ball from A to B in ways Nix and Stidham don't. That talent is present even if the processing isn't. I get the sense if Zach shows he can grow in his processing and decision making he can push for a roster spot. Likely however, he's the equivalent an old hot rod that Sean Peyton got for nothing that he wants to tinker with in his garage.
I think Broncos fans have already anointed Bo Nix as a HOF QB. It's easy to look great at a program like Oregon, but will it translate? Remember, Zach wilson looked complete in college. He was accurate, made good reads, and never got sacked. None of that translated. All I'm saying is odds are not in the favor of any highly drafted QB, so don't be so sure Nix is a sure thing.
None of the local press who have been to the camps have said much about Wilson other than he has a good throw once in awhile. For the most part, they talk about how far ahead Nix is right than he should be and that Stidham is the most consistent. Wilson is an afterthought.

😂😂😂😂... Wilson is not a running qb at all. He'd get eaten alive if he ran. He's tiny, gets hurt easily and is not very fast, elusive or strong. Trying to make him Lamar Jackson would've been "awful scouting"
There have been so many QBs in the NFL with great arms over the years who weren’t able to have great careers for many reasons. Some were very good at times and others failed miserably. Jeff George, Jamarcus Russell, Michael Vick, Ryan Leaf, Cutler, and many others. I’m interested to see what Nix looks like in training camp and preseason. Stidham has more experience in Payton’s offense and can run it whereas Russell Wilson wouldn’t or couldn’t. Nix wasn’t my first choice but Payton seems to believe in him and I trust his judgment. I think Nix will start game one with Stidham backing up. Wilson may be kept as third string QB. I don’t think he will be on the practice squad. Someone would pick him up. It would benefit him to stay and absorb as much as he can from Payton.
Good qbs still play well no matter how bad their oline is. Aaron Rodgers was the most sacked qb in the nfl multiple times and still played like an mvp. Same with Burrow. Hell, even Geno Smith made the pro bowl with the 27th rated oline in 2022 lol

Anyone that thinks Zach Wilson is a legit NFL quarterback is fooling themselves. Dude just doesn’t have it. Don’t be like the Bears fans that made every excuse for him. I fought with the Bears fans about this same thing last year and I was proven right. I don’t give a shit what you do in college. The college game compared to the NFL game are two different beasts. In college if you’re strong, athletic, have a big arm can make all the throws you can have quite a collegiate career. In the NFL you don’t have to be strong, athletic, have a big arm or make all the throws I mean you need to have NFL level talent so please don’t misunderstand what I am saying. But the great separator from greatness and garbage is how fast that thing between your ears can process information. College you can be a great QB with 90% physical 10 mental. In the NFL to be a great QB it’s 10% physical, 90% mental. You have about 4-5 seconds pre snap to read and react to what the defense might be doing. And you have about 2.2-2.5 seconds to react post snap in which a lot of information has to process extremely fast, pocket awareness, where is the additional pressure coming from, who’s dropping back into coverage, are your WRs in a position to get open and then decide to throw the ball to a target, throw it away, take the sack, or tuck it and pick up yards with your legs and again all this processing needs to be done in the 2.2-2.5 seconds on most snaps. Zach Wilson lacks the processing ability. He was drafted based on his athleticism, and his ability to throw the ball and make all the throws. He may even be a very smart guy as well but he can’t process fast enough. Bo Nix is a wait and see. Unfortunately it’s the one thing you can try and gauge in college but until they step on a NFL field and have to deal with the complexities of playing QB in the pros we won’t know. But I would not sacrifice the growth of the QB I just used a 1st round pick on for some dude that was drafted high 4 years ago. I would think if anything Wilson and Stidham are in competition to be the inevitable backup this year and Bo Nix will probably be the starter fairly early in the season. Personally I think it would be best to start Stidham at Seattle, vs Pittsburgh, at Tampa Bay, at NYJ to start the season. I would rather Nix start come week 5 at home vs the Raiders. Let him get some mental reps on the sideline let him experience how fast the game truly is by observing it up close. Some say every rep is important it’s really not especially if it will kill your confidence or cause you to start seeing ghosts out there.
This is obviously an attempt by Cowherd to build up Wilson so Denver can trade him. Cowherd and Payton are buddies so he's doing him a favor. If you really follow the broncos you know Wilson is struggling right now.
It’s pretty common knowledge that the QB competition is now a two way race between Stiddy and Nix. Wilson is the distant 3rd just looking for a roster spot now. Heck he took off running during 7 on 7’s…a cardinal no-no. At best he’s a multi year project that may or may not pan out. He’s no longer in the race to start this year

University of Oregon is not the NFL. None of these armchair QB's have ever taken a snap in the NFL. Zach is the one QB who outshined Mahomes when the Jets played the Chiefs. He had a great game against the Generals, was player of the week. With no OL, no running game, penalties, no OC, and a coach that blamed Zach for missing the playoffs guess what guys it is a team sport. Denver will start Nix and all his cheerleaders will say even though he hasn't got an arm he is a great QB lol. Cowherd can't be proven wrong, his job depends upon it. So the naysayers will continue never recognizing anything positive about Zach.
This is why the national media has no clue. Locally, Zach Wilson has always been observed as performing the worst, with Stiddy in the lead by a narrow margin over Bo. I'm sick of hearing about Bo's arm, his long bomb highlights are no different than Drake Maye's, or JJ's... what do they really know? And if Stidham and Bo are 1a and 1b, then you have to go with Bo on Day 1
Yeah I think it all depends on if you want to develop Bo more. No need to rush him out there just because. But if he's ready, and the future of the team, well then hit the ground running
Arm strength is also about speed of ball through tight windows. But nix looks good. Stidham had lots of hype behind him from qb coaches around the league. So I don't care I just want a decent qb

Stiddy is ahead right now because of his familiarity with the offense. I predict Bo comes back from the break and knows the offense like the back of his hand. He'll show in camp that he's ready to start.
Definitely quite possible!
And you know all this how?
@@AdamB34 The local reporters have reported Stidham, with his year of experience in the system, looking like the best guy in OTAs and mini-camp. I'm basing my prediction about Bo on his football mind and drive to succeed. He's the son of a coach, has had multiple new offenses to learn, apparently did a good job on his pro day when the Broncos gave him plays to learn and 24 hours or less to learn them. He's mature by all reports, so unlike Zach Wilson who held out his rookie season with the Jets, I think Bo will cover all his bases and be as prepared as he can be.
@@rluellamfirst, Zach Wilson never held out at any point. 2nd, you don't know anything about Bo Nix's drive or football mind lol. Literally every highly touted qb gets those things said about him. You don't know if they're true or just the team/local media praising their first round pick qb
Are you familiar with what Bo Nix did when he played for Bryan Harsin at Auburn?
Why is it hard to believe that Zach Wilson can’t beat out BO nix. He’s more worthy of a 1st rd pick off of talent alone ahead of Bo Nix
hahahahaha
@@MarkLewis-l3f 🤣🤣🤣🤣... what are you babbling about? I didn't say anything about Jarrett Stidham or coming out of college lol. He's a known scrub. He's a known terrible qb. He's a known historically bad nfl qb lol. Who is going to draft a qb who has been HISTORICALLY BAD FOR 3 YEARS in the top 12 of the draft? Who would pass up a top qb prospect in round 1 to draft the worst qb in the nfl knowing he's the worst qb in the nfl? We ALREADY KNOW how bad Wilson is. It's not a mystery. He has played 2 very big games, stunning favorites.

Also... the organization wasn't too "dysfunctional" for them to have BOTH the offensive AND defensive rookies of the year or to have a top 5-10 defense or to have a rb that was 2nd among rbs in total yards behind only Christian McCaffrey. The entire rest of the team is doing just fine and progressing just fine. Wilson was the only one not getting better at all

Interesting that a FIRST round Twelfth selection this season is somehow supposed to a better player as a rookie than a three year veteran. not to mention currently younger than Bo Nix by tWO years, and more experienced than the oldest quarterback on the roster Stidham…
Honestly, Zach Wilson is more likely to replace the rookie Bo Nix, than Justin Fields is likely to replace Russell Wilson at any point with the Steelers. Unless Bo Nix hits the ground running and looks like a Purdy or Stroud, then Zach Wilson will be the starter over Stidham, and maybe revive his career in Denver…
He let NIX have the number TEN jersey, he could also do Denver fans a solid and wear the number THREE…

Yeah I honestly really don’t care about draft order.
@@JWLSports Agreed, draft position is only important if it means acquiring a particular player before another team does. Players like Brady and Purdy, Russell Wilson, and even Kurt Warner are the proof the draft is overrated. The Broncos have had great success with players in later rounds, like Sharpe, or even not drafted at all like Terrell Davis and Rod Smith…
But it is hard to ignore how everyone insisted on getting NIX in the first round, when realistically he probably would have been available in the third. College Systems aside, Zach seems just as capable, as he too completed over the SEVENTY percent of his passes his senior year too only giving up three interceptions…
Again, the upside all things being equal, Zach is two years younger with three years of real world experience to inform him on how to handle this season. If NIX’s learning curve is anything like Zach’s or Stidham, he will be older than Stidham is now, and in his THIRTIES…

That talent is present even if the processing isn't. I get the sense if Zach shows he can grow in his processing and decision making he can push for a roster spot. Likely however, he's the equivalent an old hot rod that Sean Peyton got for nothing that he wants to tinker with in his garage.

As a jets fan looking back there’s a lot of blame to go around rookie HC rookie OC and Greg knapp passing was a awful start terrible OL his whole time here. Zach hasn’t been good though he’d have two quarters of great QB play and you’d be thinking that’s why we drafted you #2 and then just capitulate after, we tried to turn him into a pocket qb for three years which is crazy it’s like drafting Josh Allen and saying let’s turn him into Brady its awful scouting.
😂😂😂😂... Wilson is not a running qb at all. He'd get eaten alive if he ran. He's tiny, gets hurt easily and is not very fast, elusive or strong. Trying to make him Lamar Jackson would've been "awful scouting"
Why does J Mac have such a hard time having a pleasant conversation about sports?
😂😂😂
Did Zach W beat the Broncos in Denver last year?
Hello? Zach is only 6 months older than Bo Nix. He had a terrible 3 years with garbage O line and back offensive coaches.
Good qbs still play well no matter how bad their oline is. Aaron Rodgers was the most sacked qb in the nfl multiple times and still played like an mvp. Same with Burrow. Hell, even Geno Smith made the pro bowl with the 27th rated oline in 2022 lol
We’ve always known Zach Wilson has the strongest arm. He just sucks ass. Everything I’ve heard is that Zach has been the worst of the 3 QBs so far. By a wide margin.

It looked like he never had played football? Zach is really streaky and had a terrible O line, but he had some very good games here and there.
"Here and there" aka like 3 imes in 3 years 😂

This is obviously an attempt by Cowherd to build up Wilson so Denver can trade him. Cowherd and Payton are buddies so he's doing him a favor. If you really follow the broncos you know Wilson is struggling right now.
I don’t think Colin is trying to do anything. Lol. He’s just reporting.
Build up Wilson? He said almost nothing positive about him 😆😆
It’s pretty common knowledge that the QB competition is now a two way race between Stiddy and Nix. Wilson is the distant 3rd just looking for a roster spot now. Not sure why this ridiculous click bait came up. Wilson does have the best pure arm talent….what he doesn’t have is the ability to make good decisions with the ball. Heck he took off running during 7 on 7’s…a cardinal no-no. At best he’s a multi year project that may or may not pan out. He’s no longer in the race to start this year
Yeah I wonder why there’s all these reports these days about Wilson
People keep saying that Bo Nix is a good decision-maker. But weren’t around 70% of his throws last season at or behind the line of scrimmage? That doesn’t mean good decision-maker, that means most decisions were made for him.
It's not that straightforward
@@JWLSports so where’s the decision-making in designed screens and quick hitters? That’s not today’s NFL. Have to be able to read down the field and fit throws into brief, small windows. Based his usage there isn’t a lot suggesting that Bo can do that
@@smh0825- On passes over 10 yards down the field, Nix racked up the stats, tossing over 66 percent of his touchdowns on these throws. In both the medium passes (10 to 19 yards) and deep passes (over 20 yards), Nix had PFF pass grades over 90.
- On sideline throws over 10 yards down the field Nix’s 60 percent on-target rate was better than Jayden Daniels (59 percent), Michael Penix Jr. (56), Caleb Williams (55), Drake Maye (52) and J.J. McCarthy (51).

This is why the national media has no clue. Locally, Zach Wilson has always been observed as performing the worst, with Stiddy in the lead by a narrow margin over Bo.
