Hey! You might not remember me from your stream a while back, but I got around to making a few knives, including a kiridashi! Cool to see you making them
I agree. But it still involves skill to grind clean lines. Bladesmiths forge blades, knife makers use stock removal. At least that's how I look at it anyway.
Well it depends on the project for small lil thingies like this i forge to shape cause its fun if i have to make a profit out of it and deliver pieces as ordered i forge out my bars eith the right tapers and length and grind the shape in. its 10 times faster and as everybody knows...time is money 😅
@@MartinHuber_Knives for sure time and place for everything, I just get frustrated when I see people advertising themselves as master smiths and they never show themselves using a hammer and anvil. Especially when they are making blades out of questionable recycled materials that aren’t even high carbon. To me blacksmithing is as much an art as anything. There’s very few things a blacksmith makes today that a machine can’t make. It’s the experience, time and dedication that a smith puts into every hand crafted piece that make it special. Maybe I’m just old fashioned but to me that human element is what separates a craftsman from someone who can just make a knife.
Hi there I have just discovered your TH-cam channel really like the content. Just wondering where you got your rolling mill from I am a hobby knife maker and I am thinking of buying one or making one
Why only left handed ones? Seems a set would be more profitable. I see a lot of these forged and I dont think any of these TH-cam bladesmiths even know what this specialized knife is for. Forge On!!!
Danke für den Ohrwurm 😅
welchen genau? xD
Nice little day project. Very cool to have a get together every so often.
Oh yeah, love the tradition
L9ve it ❤
You should do a mini series of them 🤑
hehe maybe!
i love those little fancy knives! cool video, thanks for sharing

Good small project

very nice little tools, as always more a piece of art than a simple knive
and a cool choice of music
thanks man!
Sweet looking, love the nickel

I like the single edge. Would be nice in a Siamese set since I'm a lefty..lol
But a matching left/right set would look good displayed

Hey thats cool!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻😄
Tolles Projekt, meine zwei ersten Messer waren auch kiridashi Messer aus Feilen 😅
Wunderbares starter Messer!
Very refreshing to see a smith actually forging a knife and not grinding to shape on TH-cam. Thank you for keeping the art alive!

You’re not cool. Until you’re cool enough to light the forge with the flame of your arm hairs 😎😜
😂
And the smell of singed arm is the only way to get your day started 🤣

What is the song that was playing at around the 7 minute mark?
its called
Torpedo by Tigerblood Jewel
Where do you get the music for your videos?
I gotta pay for the rights to use them
@@MartinHuber_Knives yes, but where? =)
what kind of vegetable are these for? the little itsy-bitsy tiny-whiny baby carrots and corn?
yes
