@@floridabelle can't argue with that!! lol funnily though I didn't like opeth the first time I heard them, a7x had been my favorite band for a long time, then just one day decided to try opeth again and pretty much enjoyed their entire discography 🤣🤣 strange how that works eh???? also Epica and trivium probably my next 2 favorite bands along with opeth& a7x. Obviously toooons more I enjoy but very few bands do I enjoy everything they've released. hell I loved wills dissolve "the heavens are not on fire" album when it dropped yet their second one last year I think I didn't care for as much 🤷
Haha love your vids bro, from Australia. I literally found you the other day, after eating some pot cookies I made, stoned as fuck browsing through YT. Opeth is the fucking best, not a bad song!
Love it, another great Opeth reaction. No turning back now. So many albums. Opeth sells out to no one, Mikael Akerfeldt not growling anymore on later releases despite immense pressure to do so is testament. Shout out to TFN too, they are masters of genre transition, seamless.
If you dig some double bass, check out Opeth's Blackwater Park or Master's Apprentice. Blackwater Park has a section about 4 minutes long where the drummer doesn't let off and Master's Apprentice starts kicking right out the gate. Look forward to more reactions from you.
I'm super late to your dive into Opeth so I'm gonna throw some more EXCELLENT prog-metal and prog-rock at you. Devin Townsend is an absolute musical genius and I really think you'll dig his goofball personality, most people start that journey with Kingdom (the EMG TV version is great). Next is Steven Wilson(who actually wrote, produced and played on Opeths Blackwater Park album) , either his solo work or his work with Porcupine Tree the man is another prog-god! Keep up the awesome reactions man!!
I would consider 12 Foot Ninja more Progressive-Fusion...whereas Opeth, to me anyway, is straight Scandinavian prog rock/metal. Music is handled differently in 'the old world' in a lot of ways. I find certain hallmarks in Opeth that lead me to the specific classification, but regardless, Prog. Rock/Metal. Both bands are transfixing and transformative, and both bands certainly demand all the props, kudos and respect in the world.
I've done both, actually used to sit with the lyric booklet from whatever album and go through the entire thing (naturally 🤣) but that was mostly when I was younger/maybe teenager. Once older though lyrics are the last thing I check out, hell there's probably still lyrics I don't know but I love the instrumentation/composition of the tracks . he should totally check some Epica too, and trivium, and a7x, and older all that remains, maybe some the used , alesana, more tool , etc lol. I love waaay too much music for my own good
Just putting Porcupine Tree out there 1 more time, sorry - But another band you should check out is KARNIVOOL, theres something about bands with OOL in their name that just make them god tier!! lol, but listen to Goliath or We Are. You'll really like the playing of time signatures and just how well mixed/punchy the songs are. Goliath might have the nastiest bass tone ever and yes im taking all tool songs into account. it's just massive.
Bruh! You need to react to Los Jaivas - La Poderosa Muerte en Macchu Pichu. Psychodelic rock mixed with latinoamerican instruments. Enjoy the cosmic journey
You should take a listen to Opeth River and try saying that XD You might not like their heavy stuff and that’s fine, but it’s definitely not just noise. Musicians are always really impressed with their phrasing and transitions and chord structures and progressions etc. Opeth has music for everyone throughout all of their completely different albums.
@@luizeduardotebar8049 Right on. I was not meaning it bad. It just wasn't working for me at that moment. I think they are good. I just feel like sometimes they are trying to do to much.
🔥💖Opeth🔥💖
I'm thrilled you enjoy Opeth, as I look forward to more of your quality reactions to this amazing band! Thank you.
More to come!

The Drapery Falls next (maybe best Opeth Song Ever)
For more awesomeness: Demon Of The Fall or Hessian Peel or The Lotus Eater. Hell, do their whole discography 😀🤘
I'll second checking out The Lotus Eater, but I'm biased.
If I could listen to any song for the first time again, it would be The Lotus Eater. What a fucking ride
@@austinz1824 That's subjective, but the truth and nothing but the truth
Yes discography
Great song. Even better analysis at the end of the song regarding commercialization of art. Good stuff man, subbed
Much appreciated!
Enjoy your vids man. Funny at times ;-)
Glad you like them!
Just occurred to me the other day that this song is kind of like prog-death’s Bohemian Rhapsody

I can't believe how well these guys play there songs live. The timing of transitions would be so hard.

Check them out bruv they're awesome
what Jason said!!
Liar. Is a great word to scream.
Might sound kinda squarish saying this but perhaps listening for the first time sober and reading along to the lyrics may be the way to go.
When you have a reaction channel, you can do it your way. How about you don't try and force others into your square box
