Hard to argue since the Logan facelift back in 2008 or so I think. My dad has a 2011 one, 200k km on board, hasn't been in a service since...bought it for 4000 EUR, has all the stuff you want for a car. Thing's been through hell and high water, quite literally in some cases as I did use it to escape a forest fire and survive a flood, and everything in between, from the peaks of greek mountains, to the valleys of the carpathians, to sandy beaches and muddy swamps, and let's not forget me trashing it for like 30000km doing my college commute every day years ago. I really wish they'd give us one of those truly back to basic models with just the essentials like the old Logan, a radio (the old Logan has an incredibly good stereo system for some odd reason lol, 4 speakers in the car, subwoofer in the back), A/C, ABS, and that's pretty much all I care about when it comes to electronics in a car, keep the price low and make it reliable. What I want is basically, a car like that, adjusted for inflation, so around 6000-7000 EUR new, no stupid gimmicks, just rugged, reliable, practical, economical, yet still pretty fast with that 105HP engine on a 1.2 TON car.
I took a Jogger for a test drive a couple of months ago. I was so impressed that I put my order in there and then and I'm picking it up next week. Anyone interested in a 2017 Jaguar XE?! 😆
This is a first for me. It is a Dacia I would buy. Kodiaq, sorento,Tiguan,Santa Fe, all started at 36;37,38,39 thou. Now all 60 thou plus. Good looking Dacia with a handsome price.
Yep, there is no reason to buy those brands really. Though in fairness Santa Fe is genuinely going for luxury. But kodiaq and Sorrento price for what you get compared to those are mad.
Had two dci's in my life, both driven 300k+ and never seen engine light on.(to the red every day) TDI on the other hand, every one of them in less than 100k. And then every 50k or so. Good work Renault !
Exactly! I have the duster 2021(22) prestige full extras and it's a lot of car for the low price. And I always wanted the sunroof. This would also rock as a pickup
I would love to consider one of those Bigsters if only there were normal engines. 1.2 liter turbo making 130/140 or whatever hp powering a 1.4/1.5 ton c class SUV seems pathetic. I don't think I can overtake or even cruise on the highway without pushing this tiny engine to it's limits. at least a 1.8 would have been nice.
@balancemaster 109bhp Jogger is surprisingly nimble. Certainly feels sharper than the bhp on offer. I reckon it's because the car is light and the turbo seems to do it's job reasonably well. 🙏
The coolest approach is by far how they marketed the price! Not “starting from 30K” as most of the brands, instead they’re saying “up to 30K”!!! So, even with top specs and accessories it won’t exceed 30K! Sci-Fi! Bravo Dacia!
I purchased a Dacia Stepway extreme for use in Spain. Price was fantastic, after purchase care, servicing all perfect! Has all the gadgets apart from electric folding mirrors. Used to be a snob but complete value for money
Have to say , a lovely rugged and very well equipped and value, I have been watching it since I seen it first 2 years as a concept, would be very interested in 26 giving it a year to get any gremlins sorted. Bravo Dacia 👏
My neighbour has a fairly old Dacia Duster and he has never had a problem with it ever! It’s just a base model but as he says, it gets him from A-B with no trouble and it’s a cheap and cheerful vehicle to run. I’m looking at Duster prices here in the UK. You can get a 2-3 year old Duster for between 12-14k depending on mileage! Now that’s definitely worth considering.
Thanks again Nobby for a great preview. Dacia have certainly come along way and sit in a nice area as "cheaper but just as equipped" as the more expensive brands. In today's car world of eye watering prices for the family car, I will certainly be taking notice of Dacia when time comes for a new car late next year.

Great video again, thank you. Dacia just beginning on the Skoda route, more kit and higher prices but appears still good value for money, can’t wait for the test drive video next year.😊
Well they’re not really, Skoda were acquired by VAG a premium brand, whereas Dacia are owned by Renault who are much less premium themselves. Dacia will never be more premium than the parent company. Dacia’s biggest markets are the poorer countries of Eastern Europe & the bottom of the Russian market, where basic stripped out vehicles are the norm.
I have a big soft spot for Dacia cars and will probably end up getting one someday. Either this or a Duster (or maybe even a Sandero :) ) Everyone I know who has a Dacia is pleased with it
Unfortunately in the most recent 2024 Euro NCAP crash test ratings the new Duster only scored 3 stars, which is an advisory warning to look at other makes before you buy a Dacia because of these results! Poor crash test ratings have been pretty much a common occurrence with Dacia, which can only be associated with the lower costs, and while some safety ratings could be regarded as over the top and trivial, a disappointing crash test rating should not be ignored!

In the full-width rigid barrier test, protection was rated as marginal for the chest of the driver and rear passenger, based on dummy readings of compression. In both the side barrier test and the more severe side pole impact, protection of all critical body areas was good and the Duster scored maximum points in this part of the assessment. Dacia did not provide evidence to demonstrate the degree to which the Duster would control excursion (the extent to which a body is thrown to the other side of the vehicle when it is hit from the far side). In addition, the Duster has no countermeasure to mitigate head to head contact between the front seat occupants, so far-side protection was rated as poor. I live in the city and do little miles so a big 4x4 SUV is overkill for my needs. But I like this one very much and if I ever need a 4x4 this would probably be at the top of the list.

Excellent video. Thanks.I'm waiting for my Hybrid Jogger Extreme to be delivered in Dec. This Bigster would have been a contender, but I don't need the 4x4 and I like the way the Jogger maximises space in the rear, without requiring SUV underpinnings, wheels and tyres.

I like Dacia's they are really popular for there general ruggedness in a rural coastal environment. If they did a full EV with a decent size battery (70kw +) I'd conceder it straight away as a replacement for the MG ZS. A mild hybrid isn't the long term option
The last 18 months Dacia have really upped their game and became desirable vehicles . Really impressed with both the Duster and the Bigster and all of their Accessories including the tailgate tent and Sleeping unit for inside the vehicle . Basically a Campervan for half the price
Dacia understand that people are getting tired of being charged ever increasing amounts for tech they don't need and cars that are more style than substance. I never thought I'd say this, but I cant wait to ditch my bmw for a Dacia next year when this car launches
Completely agree, I have had Renault all my life, and was looking to change my Captur for the latest version. I came away with the new Duster. I could not justify the extra 5k for tech I would not use against what the Duster came with. Same hybrid power train, driver safety features, heated seats, steering wheel and screen. It was a no brainer, the quality is the same. I know Renault are in partnership, but Dacia are just Renaults with a Dacia badge, Even the head restraints and the mirrors are the same as Renault. I think people are fed up or getting wise to paying for cars loaded with tech they never use.
I really REALLY like this! Will be interesting how the pricing sets up in my country, and do we get a 4WD with auto gearbox this time. Couple of things I'm a bit worried about, though. From the looks of it, the driver's seating position is quite low... Which is apparently some kind of trend in Europe, as even SUVs need to 'feel' like sports cars and driving position is very cocooned, low-slung. I hate this, as one of the advantages of SUV is the commanding seating position, and ability to SEE around the car when driving on narrow and challenging forest road (I do that often). I hated the driving position and lack of headroom in Jogger, which otherwise is a great car. My other concern is, how strained the 'big and powerful' new engine will be when there's four adults, one kid and all their vacation gear on board on a 400km road trip... I really wish there was still a diesel option, as this kind of cars would benefit from the low-RPM grunt a lot.
Bought a 3 year old duster at 30k on clock and it was such an uncomfortable ride on long trips hard seats that you could feel the wiring in for the seatbelt sensors, had to buy a silicone cushion to sit on, 6 months on I decided I needed and automatic for health reasons and couldnt find one anywhere except to say for a much older model which looked very dated. ended up part exing it for a Citroen C5 Aircross Auto which is the most confortable car I have ever driven long distance with its advanced comfort seating, same size 1500 diesel engine similar economny and 8 grand dearer for the same age car with the same 30k milage. We also have a Dacia sandero 1.5 diesel which does 87 mpg on a run is VED exempt and is quite confortable to drive in comparison it has never caused us any trouble and is ten years old next year. Great engines and great build quality just a shame about seat comfort but I guess you get what you pay for.
What I like about Dacia is that the mechanicals are based on tried and trusted components from Renault. Because there are a few less electronic gizmos on them, they're likely to be more reliable. Good, honest motoring, offering VFM, a rare thing at the moment.
Dacia is the most optimized cheapness of Renault. If you are interested to buy wheels with some cheap fridge on it at the price of a car, Dacia is the perfect choice.
@@iasikistan7310 it is built on Renaults CBF-M platform. All powertrains are Renault. The technology is Renault. The driving safety aids are Renault. It's all Renault. They just pressed the Body panels different and made it to a certain price point. Hardly a fridge. But did you know that Mercedes fit the Renault 1.5 DCI engine and six speed EDC auto box into their A class? If you own an A class you basically got a Renault, with a different body shell. It's the same both ways. Just one charges a premium . Check it out. The hybrid system in the Dacia is what they fit in most of the Renaults.
Apart from the true off road suv manufacturers, every other c segment suv manufacturer will fear this cars arrival next spring, the blue looks awesome.
I have to say I think it looks good. I think due to the size of the car whilst its the most expensive option I think the new 1.8 with 155hp would be the best one to go for. If I'm not wrong I'd hazard a guess that the 1.8 being used is probably a detuned non turbo version of the engine in the RS Mégane because after all they use Renault parts so id be very surprised if it wasn't the rs Mégane engine in disguise, the 1.2 3 cylinder after all is the same one used in the Austral and Rafale.
I have been waiting for this review since the concept was launched. Questions.. Is there a 7 seater option. Engine sizes available for 4 wheel drive. Is there leather / leatherette seats available. Great review, the silver matches the bumpers....
@@columcreaven8860 I believe it was confirmed before launch there wouldn't be a 7 seater option and with a 570L boot you'd be hard pressed to fit dolls in the back seats if there was. Leather would be a first for Dacia, good question theres a lot of firsts on this car, perhaps its an option!
I did wonder how 4 cm increase in wheelbase over the duster would allow 7 seats, I googled it but only speculation that 7 seats would be an option, so it's a bigster Duster only, leather is an option in Europe, I was in a Spanish taxi during the summer...
No 7 seats. Only 1.2 TCe130 for 4x4. No leather, but some kind on neoprene (washable!). You can find this neoprene on any Extreme version of Sandero, jogger or new Duster. But... It looks good but your back will be sweating all the time.
No grab handles above the doors? I assume there was no space left for installation, due to the large glass sunroof. Still, the grab handles are there for a reason! Especially in a SUV with a considerable ride hight such as this one. Kudos 4 the video
@@NobbyOnCars Sorry, Nobby, I didn’t mean it as harsh criticism. It's just that there are always some drivers who don’t put on their lights in miserable weather, or rely on DRLs (which aren’t visible from the rear). And the grey doesn't help seeing them.
Maybe the green car is the unlucky car so I won't buy a green car my Jogger is metallic grey and love it can't go wrong with grey and our tarmac is black.
I've been waiting for this video for what feels like ages 😂. This looks very pretty, do you think competition for the likes of the rav4 (looks wise it has the current generation matched and personally I think thats a beautiful car) ?
Bigger Engien need fully auto for 4×4 and possibly a Diesel and full LED lights all around otherwise its just ok with all of the above this will be a big winner
Looking to change my car for next year this one I will definitely have a look at I had a duster when they came out first no complaints so when wil it be I Ireland
Couldn't agree with you more , put a pathetic 3 cylinder engine , ok if just the driver onboard ,put a few people and luggage in it and the engine becomes pathetic
The top spec at 30k would be GREAT with better interior door trim (specially in the rear ones made from one single plastic mould) and better, softer plastic in the top of the dash. It would be my choice of car😮
Honestly, don't you mind the low prices on it? As a romanian, I would have liked a luxury version with leather on the dashboard, quality plastics, other upholstery on the ceiling, quality plastics for the central console on the doors, ambilight....
This car, for me, is a beauty. The line is near to perfect for what can be made out of a SUV. But, a three cylinder, 1000 cc engine with 105 bhp f o r seven (7) passengers?? Does that work uphill???
Looks very handsome! Hyundai Santa Fe would wanna take a few lessons off Dacia how to break up a slab back of a big SUV. Pity they didn’t make a medium battery BEV with 300km range, would suit a lot of urban parents.
Several years away for a BEV version. They’ve just started with the Spring and baby steps while the market develops. Would expect several BEV Dacia’s by 2030.
All these new Dacia's seem to remind me the Lada X concept, which is not so surprising, considering that before the war started, Lada essentially became a sub-brand of Renault.
Aparently the Bigster will have a mildhybrid + petrol + lpg version available... total range combined over 1000km. If this is true, not many will miss the diesel. I'd rather say it's sad they don't offer the AWD with automatic transmission...
This is as far as Dacia needed to go in taking on the "competition". A great looking car that doesn't look like a total compromise, no superfluous nonsense, no unnecessary performance....... I hope they don't go and spoil it all by filling their cars with tech that nobody uses, fancy trim that looks terrible after 6 weeks of kids daubing it with mud and ketchup. 40k for the top model is probably exceeding the envelope a bit already, but at least this only applies (I think) to the AWD version, which most people wont need and won't buy. The FWD auto with traction control will be sufficient fo almost everyone.
Im soooo tempted with the new Duster, I really am. But I cant help thinking "cheap" cars wont last with Dacia. Just look what happened to Kia. We bought the wifes Picanto brand new in 2018, £8500 out the door. The New Picanto starts at £15.5k......
Towing Capacity has to be a consideration here: Can it pull a Caravan or a Horsebox? If it comes in circa the 'usual' 1200Kg - 1500Kg it makes it all but useless as any serious workhorse. To be a replacement for my Navara I'd be looking at a capability for over 3,000Kg. Anything else is just a 'jacked-up' hatchback with a 4x4 badge.
Drove a Dacia Logan for years, no bother with reliability great 1 litre run around with massive boot space. They make good reliable, affordable cars remember this is how Skoda started out and Dacia are improving all the time.
Dacia are great now best looking outside and rugged on the inside and I do hate these new centre consoles now like Peugeot it always looks cramped in the front cabin as though you have parked a Chinese 125cc motorcycle in it.
Funny, Dacia Duster you say is B segment while VW Troc they say is C segment but OK. This car is well, a Duster with bigger trunk, for the money you will spend on top trim get a Nissan or Renault of your choice anyday!
Let's wait and see the crash rating, the Jogger scored a shocking 1 star. The argument that the abysmal score is due to more stringent tests, doesn't really wash anymore. It has most of the safety aids required, it's the fact it folds like a sardine tin, possibly causing serious injury.

Manual for 4X4
Dacia are the new SKODA!
But new škodas are /unfortunately/ unclassifiable overpriced "something" with the same quality as Dacia has, but prices as WV😢🤮
New skoda for € 30K? Really?
What I like about Dacia is that the mechanicals are based on tried and trusted components from Renault. Because there are a few less electronic gizmos on them, they're likely to be more reliable. Good, honest motoring, offering VFM, a rare thing at the moment.
Dacia is the most optimized cheapness of Renault. If you are interested to buy wheels with some cheap fridge on it at the price of a car, Dacia is the perfect choice.
@@iasikistan7310 Am happy with my Hyundai
@@ukman9797 I said that, it is built with the cheapest materials, and provides no safety.
Apart from the true off road suv manufacturers, every other c segment suv manufacturer will fear this cars arrival next spring, the blue looks awesome.
Hello, if u lift up the head rest in the mid seat it will get flat when folded and the drinks will be at level in the cupholders :)
Excellent vehicle,I just bought one 3 months ago and I am happy with it.
Apart from the daft name it looks like a good package overall. The logo always reminds me of Delorean.
Dark green with copper inserts would be nice
I have to say I think it looks good. I think due to the size of the car whilst its the most expensive option I think the new 1.8 with 155hp would be the best one to go for. If I'm not wrong I'd hazard a guess that the 1.8 being used is probably a detuned non turbo version of the engine in the RS Mégane because after all they use Renault parts so id be very surprised if it wasn't the rs Mégane engine in disguise, the 1.2 3 cylinder after all is the same one used in the Austral and Rafale.
Great review. The new intro signature very nice. Impressive car. Will add it to my list.
Great review, I like it a lot. I may look at getting the Duster or Bigster next year. Need to test drive etc...
Once again, another brilliant review from Nobby👍
@@itsRigelno, leather was an option on Logan/Sandero/Duster second generation, so this will not be a first
No grab handles above the doors? I assume there was no space left for installation, due to the large glass sunroof. Still, the grab handles are there for a reason! Especially in a SUV with a considerable ride hight such as this one. Kudos 4 the video
Actually forgot to check! I will next time
Irish people certainly love their grey cars, driving them merrily on grey tarmac, under grey skies, with no headlights on. 😀
Ignorant comment to be fair!
@@NobbyOnCars Sorry, Nobby, I didn’t mean it as harsh criticism. It's just that there are always some drivers who don’t put on their lights in miserable weather, or rely on DRLs (which aren’t visible from the rear). And the grey doesn't help seeing them.
@@szszgvery true.
Maybe the green car is the unlucky car so I won't buy a green car my Jogger is metallic grey and love it can't go wrong with grey and our tarmac is black.
9:50 I wonder if the bigsters rear seats would fit a duster? The dusters 40/60 setup is a big letdown. 40/20/40 is the way to go...
Don't want the vehicle as I've no need for it but I like your reviews . Thank you
I've been waiting for this video for what feels like ages 😂.
This looks very pretty, do you think competition for the likes of the rav4 (looks wise it has the current generation matched and personally I think thats a beautiful car) ?
Thanks for watching! I mean a Toyota will always be a Toyota but if the budget doesn’t allow, this is really a great size car.
Have too say I would definitely think about going for one , looks really well they've come along way
Bigger Engien need fully auto for 4×4 and possibly a Diesel and full LED lights all around otherwise its just ok with all of the above this will be a big winner
Looking to change my car for next year this one I will definitely have a look at I had a duster when they came out first no complaints so when wil it be I Ireland
Expect orders to begin in summer 2025
I want more basic and cheap cars that is rugged and reliable. I want a “tool” not a house on weals.
Lovely car, such a shame the engine options are just pathetic...it's crying out for a solid 2.0 diesel.
The only ones crying are the diesel owners. Deal with it in a few years there will be no more diesel cars.
@theanswer1993 that's funny diseal cars sold this year have nearly overtook ev sales worldwide
@@oldskoolclassic because people are buying the last batch before they're gone
Só it's pathetic for all constructors because all of them are ending with the diesel line...
This is going to be a big seller. If it's as good as it looks, my A5's days may be numbered.
Genuinely can't see me ever buying top brand with cars like this now kicking about at affordable (as far as cars go) prices.
How much do you think a top spec Journey Bigster will be? Thanks!
One to watch for sure.
Changing my car next year and was going to change early in year but may wait for this
Honestly, don't you mind the low prices on it? As a romanian, I would have liked a luxury version with leather on the dashboard, quality plastics, other upholstery on the ceiling, quality plastics for the central console on the doors, ambilight....
Just buy another brand if you want that though. If Dacia turn all that stuff out in a car, they’re not going to have the price advantage anymore
Hi, you didn't hear when the new Duster will be available in Ireland while you were there, thanks.
The press will be invited to drive test the car in spring and deliveries will start in summer
Q2 2025
Sorry the Duster, not the Bigster, it was supposed to be available in September.
I like this new Dacia I’d certainly consider one for my next car
That little Dacia icon on the glass is actually... Duster. They didnt change it it Bigster. Look on its rear.. its short :)
This car, for me, is a beauty. The line is near to perfect for what can be made out of a SUV.
But, a three cylinder, 1000 cc engine with 105 bhp f o r seven (7) passengers??
Does that work uphill???
5 passengers in this one. Hopefully get to drive it early next year!
I’m gonna buy one soon as it comes into the UK
Looks very handsome! Hyundai Santa Fe would wanna take a few lessons off Dacia how to break up a slab back of a big SUV. Pity they didn’t make a medium battery BEV with 300km range, would suit a lot of urban parents.
Was thinking the same about a BEV version
Several years away for a BEV version. They’ve just started with the Spring and baby steps while the market develops. Would expect several BEV Dacia’s by 2030.
@@ISuperTed Renault though… I don’t think the transition would be that big a stretch
Im thinking of buying this car. We will see how it looks like when its actually sold.
All these new Dacia's seem to remind me the Lada X concept, which is not so surprising, considering that before the war started, Lada essentially became a sub-brand of Renault.
Well done Mark.No diesel will hurt sales I think
Looks pretty smart outside. Diesel auto?
yes there deffo on the up, great video nobby,
Nice one Nobby thanks for bringing it , any idea on timeframe into Irish Market
Before summer 25
Got a 2023 duster,love it
Looks good. Would like to see a 7 seater version
Think the battery wouldn’t allow it, could be wrong.
Im soooo tempted with the new Duster, I really am. But I cant help thinking "cheap" cars wont last with Dacia. Just look what happened to Kia. We bought the wifes Picanto brand new in 2018, £8500 out the door. The New Picanto starts at £15.5k......
After buying a Duster 2023, I'm glad I saved thousands by buying this. Can't fault it for everyday use
1000kg
@@NobbyOnCars That's really quite 💩 for a car of that size!
It’s enough for most of the bell curve. If you need so much your choice is limited.
Drove a Dacia Logan for years, no bother with reliability great 1 litre run around with massive boot space.
They make good reliable, affordable cars remember this is how Skoda started out and Dacia are improving all the time.
Nothing is reliable about Dacia.😂
Well worth the wait! Great video.
This is how a defender should be..simple and hopefully reliable
The 1000 kilo towing capacity is only for the hybrid. The others have greater capacities.
It got maximum for passenger protection, but was dropped 2 stars for not having lane assist and emergency braking....
and then people moan when they've jumped in price to stick these GSR things on. They're brilliant features but they're also expensive features.
Looks fantastic ..no plug in though ?
Nope
The most important new car. Cheap and goes to Rav4 size.
4x4 auto would be nice. This could possibly be their achillies heal if it's not available
Looks absolutely amazing! Is there any rumours about it being 7 seater too?
Just rumours for the moment. I guess they don't want to hurt Jogger sales.
Is there a 7 seater option available?
Not currently and no mention of at the launch
@@NobbyOnCars which 7 seater would you recommend electric or hybrid?
Dacia are great now best looking outside and rugged on the inside and I do hate these new centre consoles now like Peugeot it always looks cramped in the front cabin as though you have parked a Chinese 125cc motorcycle in it.
Next week, the middler and then the smaller. 🤣
Does the boot fold flat when seats go down?
Not fully
Not having 7 seats is a bit strange. Rivals have them so…
I’m looking at getting one now
Maybe if you extend the middle headrest the cupholders will be set more or less horizontal position.
Funny, Dacia Duster you say is B segment while VW Troc they say is C segment but OK. This car is well, a Duster with bigger trunk, for the money you will spend on top trim get a Nissan or Renault of your choice anyday!
I didn’t say that. I said they’ve conquered the B segment.
Duster was on a Clio floorplan; a b-segment car equivalent to polo fiesta corsa etc.
Let's wait and see the crash rating, the Jogger scored a shocking 1 star. The argument that the abysmal score is due to more stringent tests, doesn't really wash anymore. It has most of the safety aids required, it's the fact it folds like a sardine tin, possibly causing serious injury.
Jogger's rating is that of Sandero, 70% adult protection.
Bigster is a longer Duster, 70% adult protection. Do not waste time waiting. 😂
I think this Bigster is only missing a 7 passengers option
Nice trainers!
Best presentation
Next time take a tape measure to pocket to check on boot size etc.
I absolutely love the looks of it
