this is a good illustration for people who want chipper back to see what a broken tower is like. there was no way to balance soulbind in such a way so that it's not completely unusable or completely op, it's unbalanceable in concept and so can't be in the game.
thats not why chipper isnt in the game, bottom mermonkey does exactly what chipper did. they didnt want to add it because.. they just didnt like it, i suppose, or maybe they planned on adding its functionality in the mermonkey.
But 2 years later rohan spibo also said this: "Realistically anything can be 'balanced' with enough thought in the numbers, we just didn't really want to deal with it again" So there's your real reason it wasn't added Edit: my other comment got deleted for some reason, originally rohan said they never said it was overpowered and that it was the community that said that
If it was based on the tier, maybe a Tier 3 soulbinded tower could tank a moab, a tier 4 a BFB, and a Tier 5 a ZOMG or DDT, it could be interesting in application as just an insurance. But it would also need a use outside of the soulbind
@@UltraLegoEnthusiastBottom mermonkey is very different from Chipper. It doesn’t permanently stun MOABs, nor does it do much damage to them at all. Chipper was broken since it targeted the strongest MOAB in the game and kept them in permanent stunlock. Every other upgrade was useless. The instant super wide funnel lost ZOMG targeting, it turned into the worst tower in the game. Mermonkey is nothing like that.
I was there when Soulbind was introduced. I think we all agree, it absolutely did not belong, even if conceptually it made sense. The modern PoD is so much cooler and fits the theme of a proper necromancer much better.
I think the video didn't explain well why was this tower not just unbalaced, but unbalanceable. I mean, prince of darkness was awful until they made it OP then nerfed into just pretty good, but what was so different mechanically about Soulbind that it couldn't have been balanced by just changing the numbers around, like having it cost 1 dollar of sacrifice per RBE instead of 100? BTW ur editing is awesome. I'd love to see you upload more frequently. also, based village macaco flag enjoyer

I still want bloonchipper back. It's the entire reason I bought BTD6 in the first place, cause I wanted to see it be used again in the newest TD# game.
Prince of darkness and Soulbind are completely different towers. Different attacks, names e.t.c. the only thing that they share are 3, 4 tier attacks and their appearance
It doesnt say it goes in the negatives so you can just use a dart monky to get 1 life and survive it doesnt say it has to compisate for the lives lost bru its op
I'm not sure if i understand you correctly, but i don't think you understand how this tower works. You need to get enough lives from a tower to survive. Otherwise you will still lose
If you're making/spending that kind of money, Legend of the Night is a better investment. For the price of surviving 3ish MOABs with Soulbind, you get a tower that actually contributes damage to prevent needing a failsafe in the first place, and if anything does leak it just kills everything for free without compromising your defense. Plus, it works on CHIMPS (theoretically at least, saving up for it is unlikely). But then if you assume you have infinite money to pour into Soulbind, you still have a ten second cooldown on the ability. So you need to be able to generate ten seconds worth of lives in a single sacrifice. That stops being sustainable even before Freeplay.

Hmm I think I’ve seen this video before🤔
nop
When i first saw Soulbind, i felt like it should’ve been free since it drains money
the moment I saw it was competing with perma spike I was like: yep. this towers cooked. (v1 perma spike was fucking nuts)

i didn't even notice while watching the original you prob just killed your vid
Fun fact, it would take 9290000$ for Soulbind to ignore a fortified BAD.
So it is terrible, even in ultra lategame freeplay

thanks for the feedback gangstalicious
genghis khan with the great advice as usual
If you could make lives, you could theoretically survive better than a vtsg because Freeplay does not change the lives lost when leaking bloons

I think if soulbind’s cost per life was heavily reduced, it could’ve been good and pair with spam strategies like Moab mauler spam.

Soulbind would be busted with modern farming techniques
what would happen if somebody has Soulbound in game save slot for years
How about sacrificing only $1 per life?
The soulbind is completely different from the prince of darkness
The scribble on its hood is different
the prince of darkness helped me a lot when i played how was it bad?
Yes, Bloons Wiki calls it a new upgrade
Do you know of / watch TF2? There are a LOT of TF2 sounde effects in this video.

It was moved because it was too good
Nope. You had to sacriface very good towers, that cost a lot of money for it to save you. I don't know if there's a good use for this tower

There was no real good use for the tower. I don't know how can he be too good
Yk it was removed because it was too good right? If you had enough money generation you could just survive forever
But overtime bloons get faster and faster. You're not gonna keep up, and you will still lose, so even in this specific strategy it's not that good
