I love how gently he closed the hood and even did that little wipe with the rag. Tells me all I need to know about how he treats his customers' cars. If you need work done, go to this man!
I bought a BMW Z4 with dealer warranty. Knocking noise in boot, they couldn't fix but gave back the car with oil hand prints all over the cream leather interior and big hand print on boot. I went nuts. Never been to a dealer since. I fixed the problem myself by rotating the rear spring.
That car is a piece of art ! Really impressive the way it is built and I can imagine the people assembling it being proud and happy to do it. It deserves to be taken care of. Thanks Wizard ! (Happy to see you with your own channel. You're doing great !)
i dont mean to be offtopic but does any of you know a way to get back into an Instagram account? I was dumb forgot the password. I love any tricks you can offer me
I test drove one of these in Walnut Creek CA back in 2004/5 and it was sublime, the driver seat is so comfortable and just hugs and welcomes you, it's very intoxicating in there, the drive was beautiful, fun, and yes that car loves to go and isn't shy about it to say the least. In person one of these is like art work and the body lines you can just stare at and feel like it's going fast just sitting still. Now the one I took out had a blue pulsing start button that after in neutral it pulsed then when pressed pulsed red and stayed red after the engine was running. When I was about to leave the dealership I asked the Rep, Can you see well out your side? He says yes, why? I told him Good because I can't! Lol and then quickly pulled out into traffic before he could react with anything other then grabbing the Oh Shit handle and a Oh Damn verbally. But then I told him I'm just kidding I can see just fine. I'm 6'5" tall and fit in that car with still good headroom. I like to test drive vehicles of all kinds like some guys collect shot glasses. And this was one of the best test rides I did and still stands out as my most memorable from point of view outside and inside feel to the drive itself. Pluses it was cool as this was a Bond car. The only other Bond car I test drove and owned was a 2001 BMW 745iL a real tank beast V10 and in my opinion the last time BMW's had good body style before they turned all Round and electric razor like. Lol, thanks for reading and thanks for this post Wizard! Brought back good clear memories.
Watching Wizard with his flashlight doing an inspection reminds me a lot of my dentist doing a check-up. He is just as methodical and precise as she is.
My wife owned a new DB 9 2007 Convertible. V12 6 liter. Frequent electrical problems. Long wait for parts. All aluminum body at 3800 pounds. Bently all steel 5000 pounds as they needs 600 horsepower W12’s
that's a really nice car even with quite so many visible Ford parts, used to have some years ago a '02 Jag and it was the same thing with lots of Ford in it, not what you wanna see from such a car. Just a piece of advice from the customer point of view, please do use steering wheel, seat and mat cover while you work on the cars, especially on such a beautiful examples, oil stains will not come out and i would be really pissed to come pick up my pride and joy and discover stains inside the car from greasy hands or dirty shoes, it's better to prevent such accidents and keep the customers happy :)
Amazing how it's cooled after being covered up like that. I mean, stop and go traffic, 110 degrees out with a/c on blast and 12 cylinders getting it....amazing
I love the tiny brakes on it, it’s almost as if they knew the car was never going to run long enough to need good brakes. Also love how excited the Wizard sounds at the beginning of the video, it appears it’s the first time he’s ever heard a running V-12 in a British car 😆
Great car to watch YOU work on, CW. I prefer the original DB3 Bond drove in Goldfinger in @1964. Something I would have a ghost of a chance working on. Talk about over engineered, Bond would not be able to make any quick escapes in this buggy. Beauty of a car, though.
Awesome video! I have a '04 Vanquish and have yet to see what it's like to have the bottom metal panel removed. If convenient, would you consider doing a video tutorial on how to remove the headlights? I have written instructions from various shops in the UK (remove the wheel liners and pull the headlights out from behind) but my mechanic still had trouble removing them. Many thanks!
love these cars always loved the early 2000 late 90's Jaugar / Aston Martian I do worry about reliability though but they seem like a hella fun car to drive.
As an owner of a 2001 Jaguar XJR I can tell you at least in my experience they are extremely reliable, if you have the opportunity to get one I'd recommend going with the XJR over the XJ8 however due to the 8 having some known trans issues plus everything is better with boost
"Vanquish" is the name Aston Martin rolls out when it builds a brutally powerful continent-crossing GT for its richest customers. :) The brand new price tag on *any* generation Vanquish is going to be stratospheric. But for the money, Aston Martin gives you a blisteringly fast car that also boasts a gentleman's club interior. The reason you pay a ton of money for a new one, is because no expense is spared when building it, and filling it with toys. Oh, and in the near future, there's a new Vanquish in the making, which apparently is going to be a mid-engined supercar aimed at taking on the likes of the Lamborghini Huracan. According to some "hint hint" press releases from the company, it'll be based upon ideas first trialled in the Valkyrie, but, er, a little less eye-wateringly expensive. Even so, if a new mid-engined Vanquish puts in an appearance in 2022 or 2023, you can expect to blow at least a quarter of a million on one.
17 year old car... still looks great, aged very well. It's the interior that shows it's true age... also the rear a bit... but still very solid looking.
I have a friend who was asked by one of his customers to fit a reversing camera to one. It came brand new from the dealers to his workshop, When he was removing the rear bumper he was horrified to find that it was put together using double sided tape. ( it was incredibly strong ) When he contacted Aston Martin for some replacement tape, he got a snotty e-mail back saying we do not use tape on our cars. As luck would have it he had a friend who worked on the production line and sent him some in the post. British engineering at its best.
Visually stunning machines, Timeless design and one of the few "modern"V12 you still can find with a manual BUT every time i see one of these i remember that 5TH gear episode where Vicky broke the same car 3 times by basically trying to do a burn out. Still gorgeous though.
I don't know much about these cars but what was interesting: Aston Martin (British), owned by (at the time) Ford (U.S.), that uses Dexron (GM) trans fluid. Not saying it's good, bad, or otherwise. Just fun to learn.
Seems like everyone's favourite Bond car is the Aston DB5, which is so popular it's almost a cliché, which is probably why it's in every film now, despite having been blown up, spat at, driven into a wall and all those other things. I can't vouch for the Bond Vanquish being the prototype, but I could go on at length about how DB5 prototype DP216/1 became Bond's pimped ride, and what happened to it subsequently.
I loved the skit. my favorite bond car of all time is the"silver beast" Saab 900 turbo from the book license renewed. and my lord, that interior is gorgeous. its about time someone did a car review from underneath it.
I sat in that only car they made... It was in '80's when Saab-Scania toured that bond saab in Finland in those car sale companies which sold Saabs. It was almost like standard Saab inside.
I want to buy one of these so badly. Is the aftermarket support enough at this point that a DIY'er can own it to avoid at least some of the factory/dealer pricing?
Motorolla V series - great phone. Use to own one of those back in the days. In EU it is preety common to find an old factory manuted phone in a car (for eg. Nokia 6210 in a W211 E-classe).
I never saw this as a pretty car from Aston Martin, specially with the perfection Aston achieved with the DB7 before, even if it was abit of a parts bin special.
Looks like it's got the Linn HiFi system fitted. You'll see a big PA in the boot / trunk. There's stories that goes around the electronics industry in Scotland (where Linn are) that they got the Aston Contract, but then started swapping automotive rated parts for standard ones and then got a lot of failures of their HiFi equipment. Someone in Linn purchasing didn't know the difference between the parts and bought the cheaper ones. Or, at least, that's the story I've heard within the Scottish electronics industry.
The last of the hand built Astons. Gearbox is a major problem though it got better with the S version. Luckily you get Newton Pagnell factory to fit a manual 5 speed for around £8-15k GBP.
I just watched Hoovies latest video and he has the comments turned off like a wimp. So I am going to post my comment here. *I sure wish I had a Car Wizard in my life* You are probably the coolest most competent mechanic I have ever seen. Wish you the best buddy. (PS please move to the northwest)
I bet he doesn't see this but if anyone is interested... He's using a 360 camera for the opening shot. That's why the pan is so smooth - it's done digitally. Probably an Insta360 One X or the one GoPro makes
Hey Looking at the bottom of that Aston I wonder if that is the best build super car. Also can you do a what to buy what not to buy super car. Thanks, keep up the great work!

I enjoy watching the Car Wizard work on both exotics and daily drivers.
Difficult to imagine Car Wizard speaking with British accent, he's so American! 😁

Yes automotive boss Ross. Legendary
"If you are going to have to shoot someone, why not do it in an Aston Martin?" Aston Martin should put this on all of their sales brochures.
But is is such a hassle to get all the blood and gore cleaned from the seats...
That intro. 😂😂 Love it wizard. Keep up the great content.
Wizard, its amazing to see how much care and respect you take on other peeps cars. Wish everyone one was like you! what a gentleman!
Watching Wizard with his flashlight doing an inspection reminds me a lot of my dentist doing a check-up. He is just as methodical and precise as she is.

I don’t know how Mrs. Car Wizard keeps straight face when she films. . Lol. Love this channel
Mathew Ring, his wife films the videos? I didn’t know that. 🤔
Every time he references Mrs. Wizard he gestures toward the camera..

Nice car, man. I wish I could live in the US to use your services. You are "the man"! Keep the good work.

Even kansas is a long ways from kansas! Well, i guess wichita is only 2 hours from me. Lol
Christopher Bain ayy what’s good fellow Kansan. Wichita is about 3 hours from where I’m at.
Wizard please keep us updated with the repairs you do on this beauty, both for the interior and mechanical.
Wizard, I really appreciate your inspection videos.
Always preferred the beefy proportions of the Vanquish compared to the typical "sleek" Astons.
Agreed, I also love the 90's V8 Vantage.
One of the most beautiful cars in the world and even still I wouldnt touch an aston with a ten foot pole. Stilll so beautiful..
Nailed that intro with one of the greatest sounding V12 ever!!!
Thank you so much for sharing car wizard! What a treat to watch and learn about cars.

based on a Duratec 30 and looks like one too. such good sounding engines, they even make double the power as a 3.0 duratec which is ironic.
Such a sweet note when he drove into the shop! Love Aston's!

Crazy the front suspension and rear too looks almost identical to Lincoln LS suspension. Thanks for the Video wizard.
That’s a handsome Aston Martin! Good spot on those clips on the front of the engine! Somebody has been there before!

this dude is awesome .how dose he not have over a million subs?? come on people!
This one's in great shape for an early Vanquish. The interiors don't hold up well if not garaged or beaten on.
lol did you just come up with this fake fact just to make a comment, a false comment
@@RoverWaters Fake fact? Buddy, I know exactly what happens to early Vanquish interiors if left out the garage too long.

Still gorgeous though.
Also Thomas Clark did the final inspection of the whole vehicle, not just the engine. You're thinking of AMG!
Cool video and your camera person is a natural professional. 😊
ANOTHER typical British way to start your Aston is to thrash it with a willow branch to within an inch of its service interval!!
@David Blundell David Blundell (sorry Dave. That was a John Cleese/Fawlty Towers reference)
Unless you're referring to the German episode?
SUGGESTION : It would be great if you had a good bright light on a stand to illuminate these under-body shots. Peace and love
I think that it's pretty impressive that you know how to work on these high and Euro Cars!! Not many independent shops do all these brands.
What do you mean by know how? As far as i can see its a machine just like any other just a machine
Best British accent since Dick Van Dyke! Enjoy your videos, thanks.
Wasn't as bad as that
it was a joke, but we Muricans can be quite bad at accents in real English. ( ;
